Chapter 70: The kidnapping (2):

Meanwhile with Hui Yun:

Everything that happened today was like a nightmare yet also a dream. I've no clue what the future holds for me anymore. Usually, I would know what I wanted with my life but not anymore. Whatever, I guess I'll have to just take the advice from Jie Jie.

We were having such a lovely quiet walk who would've known that it would be disturbed by people trying to kidnap Jie Jie? I was already frozen due to shock. I only remember Jie Jie telling me to go and find Zhao Ru Yu, call Qi Yan, and call our parents. I began running really quickly heading towards Ru Yu's company.

As soon as I entered the company, I saw Zhao Ru Yu come outside. I rushed in front of him however his bodyguards were blocking me from going further. Ru Yu gestured for them to let me pass, I ran straight towards him trying to catch my breath. Goodness, I'm no longer the fit athlete I once was.

"What's wrong?" Zhao Ru Yu asked hurriedly. "Ah Jie, got kidnapped," I stammered out still trying to catch back my breath. Zhao Ru Yu immediately looked at one of his bodyguards and gestured for them to get me some water. One of the men handed me the water and muttered a sorry probably because he stopped me from going to Zhao Ru Yu a minute ago.

He pulled me to sit on the chair in the lobby as I gulped down the cup of water. "What happened to Hui Qing? I didn't quite catch what you said," he asked in concern. "She got kidnapped," I stated. Ru Yu had heard enough, he began to call the police. My hand was still shaking so there was no way I could call them right now, give me a minute and I will be able to. Meanwhile, I listened to the conversation between Zhao Ru YU and the police officer:

Ru Yu: Hiya, I need to report that my friend has been kidnapped.

Officer: How do you know she has been kidnapped?

Ru Yu: My friend's sister saw it herself.

Officer: Right. Is the witness here with you? Can you put her online?

Ru Yu: Yes, Hui Yun. They want to talk to you.

He muttered as he handed his phone over to me. I noticed that he had quite a decent phone case. A blue phone cover with a jellyfish drawing. He's the first person I know who also likes jellyfish.

Hui Yun: Hi officer, I was the witness who saw them take away my sister.

Officer: Alright lady. What is your sister's name and date of birth?

Hui Yun: Her name is Hui Qing Fu. And her date of birth is 18/08/ 2002

(Please note in China the surname goes after the first name)

Officer: Right. Miss, do you remember the car plate that she was taken in?

Hui Yun: Ahh yes the number plate is { 😄} B·A1234. A black van?

(China's car plates function like this: The plates accommodate a one-character provincial abbreviation, a letter of the Pinyin alphabet, and five numbers or letters of the alphabet). (This is a fake plate I made up) ( Also the emoji between the brackets is where the Chinese character should be).

Officer: Do you remember what street or city she was taken from?

Hui Yun: Um yes, she was taken at the North of City J. On-street Rose Avenue. Near the Rose Park.

Officer: OK, we will check the CCTV camera on the road she was taken on. And get back to you. Please make sure that this phone has enough battery so that we can contact you later. Alright then bye.

And with that, they cut off. I handed the phone back to Ru Yu. I was much more calmer now that we'd reported it to the police, but I still had to call Qi Yan and our parents. I think I'll call our parents first as Qi Yan might be busy.

Ru Yu noticed that I was calling our parents so he let me be instead he began to call someone else. He told me later that he was calling his detective friend to help out.
