Chapter 56: Homemade dinner:

Just as we finished the season once again on Netflix, I seemed to remember what I had previously forgotten. It was about Qi Yan.

"Where's Qi Yan?" I asked. Fang Feng looked at me and replied "he had to rush back to his office and left as soon as I arrived here. it seems he waited for someone to be in here until he left," I smiled at his thought fullness and sent him a love heart on WeChat.

I wonder if he has eaten. I thoughtfully called him and asked if he had eaten. He replied no and I could hear him in the background shouting at someone. Were they overworking? Has he eaten? Seeing that he was so busy, I ended the call quickly. I pressed onto the chat with Secretary Ye. Our chat records were so simple, it was just little notice or questions. 'How many people are OT today?' I typed into our chat. Not long later he quickly replied 10 including Qi Yan. Underneath he even stated who it was. It was Qi Yan, secretary Ye and a few people in the project department because Qi Yan wasn't happy with their preposition. And so basically they've to stay back and redo it. Qi Yan stayed back for moral support and to finish the work he needed.

I went onto my takeaway app and ordered some chow mien and fried rice. The delivery place was to our dorm. Seeing that I was headed towards the kitchen Wei Wei followed me to see what I was doing.

I got out the pots and pans and Wei Wei immediately started to stop me and asked quite loudly what I was doing. "Making food," I stated obviously. Wei Wei rolled her eyes and muttered "No need because Qi Yan had already made congee for all of us,". I looked over to where she pointed and noticed the big pot of congee which had less than 3/4 left in there.

I ignored Wei Wei and proceeded to find the ingredients. Seeing that I wasn't gonna give up, Wei Wei washed her hands and decided to help me. I looked at her and teasingly said "You can't cook nor bake though," she punched me gently and retorted "I'm helping you so nothing should go wrong,". "Alright then," I muttered whilst thinking how to explain to the aunty in charge of the dorm that we had burnt the kitchen, just in case we did, because Wei Wei had burnt the kitchen down. Luckily it wasn't a very massive fire.

Scrolling through my phone I finally found what I wanted to make. Qi Yan is from Sichuan, so I wanted to have a go at his hometown food. "So Today we are going to make some mapo tofu soup and Tiramisu cake," I explained to Wei Wei. "Hui Qing, you don't eat spicy food so why are you gonna suddenly make spicy food?" asked Wei Wei. "Because she is making it for me," answered Fang Feng. "Dream on Fang Feng, she's making it for her darling," retorted Cheng Li. Since when did they all come up here? "Well, the soup is for Qi Yan but I'll make Tiramisu cake for you guys to try," I answered truthfully

Hearing me say this they too proceeded to wash their hands. Where are they gonna help? "Hui Qing let us help you. You still sick" chorused Cheng Li and Fang Feng. I nodded and laughed along with them. Oh, how lovely life was right now. All my friends are still alive and happy. How wonderful. Everything seems to be so wonderful right now.
