Chapter 21: The family meeting (1)

Today was Sunday usually a family day. However busy we were we still had to go home and eat dinner together as yeye*(1) and nai nai*(2) always came to visit us. "Good morning, Qi Yan why are you here?" I asked when I saw him standing next to his car the next morning. "Good morning to you too. Your father told me to bring you home as its quite unsafe for a young lady these days," he replied. Really dad I hardly believed you would just ask Qi Yan to pick me up and not anything else. I've a good feeling that you'll invite Qi Yan to join this meeting. Aiyo my dear daddy your intentions is reveled so easily. On the account that you're helping me strengthen the bond between Qi Yan and me then I'll just go along with it.

"Oh ok then I'll have to trouble you to send me home," I admitted as he nodded and proceed to open the car door. One hand holding the door the other hand holding the top of car in case I bump into it. This was quite considerate of him. "Thanks," I muttered. I stepped into the car and quickly fastened my seatbelt thanks to the lesson I learnt last time. Qi Yan laughed at me and closed the door. He was still smirking when he stepped into the car on the other side of car. I saw his face and blushed whilst playfully throwing punches at him. He laughed and caught my hands bringing it closer to his heart. "Can you feel my heart beat?" he asked.

Booop, Booop, Boopp. 'Why is this guy's heartbeat so quick? Is he having a heart attack? Wait why's mine also beating so quick? Am I having a heart attack? and what's with the atmosphere? Where have I seen this sort of scene before? Wait I remember it's similiar to the scene in k-dramas where the hero finally kiss the heroine after a long awaited time. Oh God!!! I'm not mentally prepared. This would still be my first kiss this life anyways'. Qi Yan leaned near me as I shrank my head back. He hesitate for a moment but then still continue to lean near me as I didn't have any protests. Oh God what am I doing? Why am I shrinking back? As I held these thoughts in my head I arched my head forwards as it touched Qi Yan's lips by accident. I turned my head backwards as my face blushed. ' Oh God why did I do that?' Qi Yan coughed as he turned his attention back to starting the car. He looked normal but who would've known that deep down he was thinking how soft my lips were.

Father opened the door to see us standing there awkwardly. "Oh Qi Yan have you had breakfast?" he asked as Qi Yan shook his head in reply. "Well then why don't you join us for breakfast?" dad added and agreed. When we entered the dinning room everyone was seated waiting for us to begin. Even aunty and her family had came, looks like mei mei had invited them. Before long mother noticed something was wrong with us two. Well it was kind of obvious. I was blushing and Qi Yan was acting quite nervous and distant. "Did something happen between you two?" gu gu finally asked after Qi Yan was arranged to seat next to me. "Nope nothing," I denied as Qi Yan smirked happily.

"Oh right Qi Yan let me introduce you to my relatives. Sitting at the head of the table is my yeye Fu Li Qiang*(3). Next to him is my nai nai Shan Pang Fua*(4). This is my gu gu Fu Ming Yue*(5). This is my Da Bie Jie*(6) Shen Lin Xue. The person on tang Jie's right is Su Mu*(7) her finance. Next to Tang jia on her left is Er Bie Jia Shen Lin Hua*(8)," I explained as I used my eyesight to show who they were. It was quite rude to point so I used my eyesight. After I explained my relatives to Qi Yan he stood up and stated "Uncle and Auntie thanks for having me here. I'm Qi Yan. It's a pleasure meeting you all," .

3. Fu Li Qiang: Hui Qing's grandad the head of the Fu family. Fu Huai Yu and Fu Ming Yue's dad. 73 years old.

4. Shan Pang Fua: Fu Li Qiang's wife is also the head of the Fu family. Fu Huai Yu and Fu Ming Yue's mother. 71 years old.

5.Fu Ming Yue: elder sister of Fu Huai Yu ( there are twins). She's married but her husband died of cancer so she moved back to the main Fu family mansion to live with her parents and her two daughters. 47 years old.

6. Shen Lin Xue: Fu Ming Yue's eldest daughter. 22 year old, is engaged to Su Mu. IS Hui Qing's eldest cousin on her fathers side so it's bie.

7. Su Mu is Gu Wei Wei's cousin on her mother side. The Su family are well known for being musicians. Su Mu is also talented in this aspect. Su Mu and Lin Xue were truly lovebirds hence they were engaged when Su Mu proposed crazily composing a piece of music for her called the Dance of Love on a Piano. Su Mu is the only son Su Chao and Liu Xia Xia.

8. Shen Lin Hua: Fu Ming Yue's youngest daughter. is 21 years old. Is Hui Qing's second eldest cousin.
