Chapter 18: He asked to be my boyfriend

Wow, this is so the view is so pretty. I gasped in shock when I turned off my phone and looked up. There was any dandy fluff flying everywhere. it seems to be coming from the direction Qi Yan headed off to. It can't be that much of a coincidence right? I stood up and walked closer to the dandelions fluff was flowing. "Hui Qing," someone called out. I turned around to see Qi Yan standing there with red roses walking towards me. A nauseating feeling arouse in my body. Of all the flowers why did you choose red roses? That flower reminds me of bad memories. When we got divorced you sent a bouquet with red roses and a sorry card on it. The divorce turned out to be the first bad decision I made in my past life. The red roses not only symbolize the divorce but also because red reminds me of the colour of blood. Too much blood has been spilt in my last life. That can't happen this time!!!

"Hui Qing you ok?" Qi Yan asked dropping the flowers and running to my side as soon as he felt something was wrong "Do you want me to call 120?*(1)" he called out whilst whipping the sweat on my forehead. "No need I'm fine, it's just I don't like red roses they remind me of something really bad. I don't like the colour red itself," I whispered. Qi Yan looked at the red roses and back at me, then he picked up his phone and said something very distant that I couldn't hear as I was still in my little world. After Qi Yan finished his phone call he helped me get up and brought me some water that those ice cream van was selling. Drinking the water I felt better again. The dandy fluffs were already gone the other way so I couldn't admire them with Qi Yan what a shame though.

10 minutes later I saw Secretary Ye running toward Qi Yan holding some flowers. This time it was a multi-coloured Transvaal daisy*(2). Secretary Ye handed it over to Qi Yan as he disappeared again. Standing next to me Qi Yan had a smile on his face. 'What is the guy thinking?' "Wow, the dandelion puffs are coming this way again!" I screamed ' why is it so much of a coincidence?'.

"Here this is for you," Qi Yan muttered handing me the flowers. "What's going on with you today?" I asked blushing deeply "These dandelion puffs are coming at the right time. Did you plan all of this?". Qi Yan's face flushed a deep red and replied " All of those romance books say that you must have flowers, nice scenery and a love token when asking someone to be your girlfriend,". I laughed heartily at Qi Yan's words whilst asking "Since when do you read romance books?". "I don't Ye Bai Yi told me about how to ask a girl out. He seems to read a lot of these books," he claimed

"Oh right. So where's the lovers' token?" I asked. He stuck his hands into his jacket's pocket and brought something out. "haha. How long has that been there? What is it?" I added. "Since this morning. This is a lovers' fitto watch that was created by my company. It's a sample we made and I thought we might like to try it out together. I asked your mum what your favourite colour was and she said it was lilac so I brought the lilac one for you and I have the midnight blue one. The watch has a lot of functions: It can monitor your heart rate, your temperature, your sleep, know your GPS and some other function most sports watch have. But the most important is that there is a button that you can press on your watch if anything happens to you. If your temperature exceeds the normal it would send a notification to either watch telling the person that their partner is sick and in need of looking after. So I know the first thing if anything happens to you and you would know if anything happens to me," he explained as I listened carefully, very detailed Qi Yan.

"So does this mean we are a thing now?" I asked as he put on the watch for me "We were always a thing," confirmed Qi Yan as he leaned closer to me. I closed my eyes and before our lips touched we were interrupted by my phone once again. I blushed and looked the other way, taking my phone out to check who was texting me. It was Xue Bie Jie asking on the gurls only group chat on QQ if anything happened with me and Qi Yan. I texted back furiously ' something would have happened if you didn't disturb me!!!' Thinking back Qi Yan just asked to be my boyfriend...

Qi Yan had restrained himself and walked back to the bench we were sitting on a few minutes ago. I sat next to him as an awkward silence filled the air. "I send you back to the dorm," Qi Yan stated as I nodded my head. We walked in silence taking in the fresh air our hands touched quite often and I blushed every time. After the Third time, our hands brushed each other I started to wonder if it was a coincidence. Qi Yan took the inactive to grab my hand, I gasped in shock but offered no resistance. his hand is quite cool unlike mine, my hand was quite warm, warming both of us.

We walked to the entrance of the park and Qi Yan's car was parked at the side waiting for us. "Did Secretary Ye park it here?" I asked breaking the air, he nodded and proceeded to open the door for me. I fastened my seatbelt myself and suddenly I remembered to talk to Qi Yan about Qi Mei. As soon as Qi Yan started driving I asked tentatively " Do you've any siblings?" he glanced at me curiously and replied, "Yes. A sister, a half-sister and half brother,". He didn't continue and I was even more curious about his family's situation. All I know was that Qi Yu had 3 sons and 2 daughters all of who wanted Qi Family's company Phoenix entertaining company, however, Qi Yan was dragged into this mess as he was the first child of Qi Yu's second son Qi Feng. Qi Yan was brought up by Qi Yu as his successor.
