epic battle and divine intervention

A mage and an archer from the Seven stood further back and began bombarding Mortis with arrows and spells. At that moment, another warrior tried to charge at Mortis, but Mortis, of course, was not an NPC or raid boss that you could just pull on yourself. He turned 180 degrees and used the Ghost Hater retreat. As he did so, he floated through the arrows and spells in ghost form and emerged behind the two ranged fighters. Mortis grabbed them by their hair and smashed their heads together, causing them both to collapse and be taken out of the running for this fight.

"You rat!" the warrior roared. "Didn't you say you only fight with fists?" Mortis laughed and replied, "Could it be that you got too many blows to the head? I said without a weapon. Go wash your feet so the dirt slides down. Maybe you'll hear better."

"I won't take any orders from you, you arrogant bastard!" the warrior roared, throwing away his sword and deciding to fight the battle with Mortis with fists only. "You idiot, why do you descend to his level? Take your sword!" said one of the others and jumped out from the shadows, armed with daggers, to stab Mortis from behind. But as the assassin stabbed Mortis with his knives and hand, he realized something was wrong. "You should have stayed quiet or preferably in the shadows forever," a voice sounded from behind the Assassin. Mortis grabbed the assassin by the belt and the nape of his neck, lifted him up and threw him towards the ground, where the rogue landed on his back, forcing air through his teeth. "Sleep well, princess," Mortis said, smacking the temple of the assassin lying on the ground, causing his lights to go out instantly. "Always these critters that have to get involved in a fight between men. Can't stand them when they're dying. Come here, warrior, show what you can do," Mortis said as he tensed his shoulders to look broader. "With pleasure," the warrior replied, and they both moved into a boxing stance.

The fog cleared so everyone could see what was happening, and of course the soldiers cheered for the warrior. "Go on, show him! Show this would-be hero what class distinction is!" But even though they cheered, they were all scared shitless, and they hoped that their great warriors would win this fight.

The warrior was strong, but slow. However, as it seemed, he was confident of himself and thought he could take anything Mortis could dish out. At his side, a woman said to her comrades, "Should we get involved? After all, Gerd wasn't wrong. We'd better take up arms and not play his game." But the young man said, "No, we'd better wait and see. Viktor is a tank and has already defeated quite other calibers with time. This bastard is getting tired, and we don't need to get too carried away. After all, if we win, his army still awaits us."

Mortis and Viktor danced back and forth with deft footwork, trying to send the other to the mat. But Viktor's face was already swollen and he already had a laceration, while Mortis just dodged and worked with well-aimed punches. But when Mortis noticed that the spectators were starting to get nervous, he didn't want to risk anything. He jumped on Viktor's shoulders and at an immense speed struck the same spot on the warrior's head again and again until he finally lost consciousness and fell over standing up. Mortis braced himself and landed smoothly on his legs as the warrior fell like a tree.

Mortis turned and surveyed the three remaining people standing close together. They were a woman and two men, all three still young and barely older than himself. With a grin, Mortis asked, "What crawls on four legs in the morning, walks on two legs at noon, and on three legs in the evening?" The three looked at him suspiciously, but answered at the same time, "Man." Mortis smiled and said, "Bingo! And now I know you are from Earth. Now the party can begin! Show me what you can do, you wretches. I'm going to kick your butts."

"Wait, what? So are you like us?" the woman asked.

Mortis replied, "No, I'm better. After all, I wouldn't send a kid to the front just to emulate perverted hero fantasies I read about in books."

But that was too much for one of them and he yelled at Mortis. It was not our decision, we just followed the call of the family! I don't care, I saw you enjoying yourselves and probably hoping that this child would be the first to die, so don't bullshit me, boy. Mortis roared out loud. Then the woman took the floor, we didn't choose this world, the old one was better anyway and not so rude.

Mortis was struck by lightning. His patience and anger reached new levels. "The old world?" he asked, almost spitting. "Do you mean Earth, where the gulf is even greater than here? Do you mean this world, populated by godless riffraff, where a coward takes the right to kill millions of people because of a pipe dream? Do you mean this world where a man has such a small ego that he lets the girl who doesn't want him be kidnapped and raped by 400 men, tortures her and then kills her? Do you think, bitch, this world? Be glad to be in a new world where there are natural enemies for people, where people don't have to fight against themselves. But such wankers like you, who harm this world, I will cleanse and open your eyes as well as those lazy gods, because like them they forgot their tasks. Shit!", Mortis roared loudly and appeared in front of the group, immediately giving the first one a punch under the chin. The second received a kick to the face before he even realized what was happening. The woman fell on her butt alone and tried to flee towards the army, but Mortis raised his hand and levitated the scythe towards him, driving the woman further and further towards the army.

Mortis swung his scythe and slowly marched towards the army. "Look at how you have gathered, how you seek battle for two criminals who wanted to sell a village to dark mages and whorehouses just for a little gold. A family that doesn't even respect the king and made an assassination in his castle. You have no honor, no pride and no spark of goodness in you. I wonder what went wrong. Have you abandoned the gods or have they abandoned you? After all, you have their blessing, but it doesn't seem to be worth anything when riffraff like you can have it. I give you two choices: Drop your weapons and hope the gods save you, or wander into the realm of the dead."

The mist dispersed by Mortis condensed again, and it felt to the others as if they were sinking into it and as if death was already near. This made the knights and the people of Gera despair. They lost all will to fight, dropped their weapons, fell to their knees and prayed to the gods. Suddenly, however, a huge shadow fell on the army of Gera, and a fluttering was heard as a great goddess with twelve wings descended from the sky and hovered in front of Mortis' army. In her hand she held a huge scythe and intimidated the people even more. Even Mortis' army knelt down to pay homage to their new goddess.

But as the people were fleeing, suddenly a loud voice was heard saying, "That's enough." The battlefield became bright, and the mist of Mortis was dispelled. Suddenly 20 gods stood before the army of Gera in the form of giants, led by Luxia, who wore heavy armor of white and gold. She carried a round shield and a white sword.

Hero, let it be and spare our children. You are right, we have averted our eyes from mortals too often, but that does not mean we are blind. Show kindness and spare them," Luxia said with great authority. Mortis pretended to consider and said, "Fine, but only if she and the other three become my slaves." With that, he pointed to the fallen warriors, the woman and the baron's son and his mother.

"Very well, so be it. After all, they were to blame for leading so many of our blessed into battle. They shall be yours, hero. Do you have anything else?" asked Luxia. Mortis replied, "Yes, two portals would not be bad. One for the people from Gera and one for my people to Bamberg. It's a long way." Luxia's eyes twitched wildly, but she tried to nod calmly.

As Mortis bowed and winked at the goddess, he said, "I thank the goddess Luxia for her kindness. She is truly the light of this world. I hope that her kindness will be recognized by everyone."

Luxia raised her hand, and a large portal rose up in each army, leading to the respective desired city. Mortis bowed once more and turned to leave. His slaves made no sound until he said, "Carry those who are still unconscious and follow me." The young baron had tears in his eyes and followed Mortis with his mother. The divine slave seal they had received compelled them to do anything that would completely satisfy Mortis. Primus shrank to human size and waited for Mortis in front of the portal to travel back to Bamberg with him.
