Chapter 16: Judge's Reward

After quite some time the lightning eventually stops. When it does I still feel it coursing through me before I pass out from the pain.

When I wake up I am on the ground in front of this judge. I stand up and look at it. Its eyes turn to meet mine. "Your judgment is over. I shall leave now," with those words it just vanishes from my sight. I shake my head and sigh, 'I didn't even get to understand how the lightning was flowing through my body.'

I go to check the notifications. I see: "Hidden Quest: Eyes of a Judge completed. For managing to hold out against the lightning and not dripping any blood into the bowl it was impressed. Was impressed with your ability to try and think of a way to defend yourself. Impressed with you trying to think of new ways to counter the lightning.

"After you passed out, the scale balanced. Without your mental faculty to interfere it was determined, you were neither a kind person, nor a downright maniac. By choosing to stand against the lightning, you showed it you have the courage to stand against what you don't believe and won't sway once a decision is made.

"The first reward gained is lightning resistance medium. The second reward is electroreception. Your third reward is a strengthened body. Your fourth reward is mental turmoil resistance minuscule. Your final reward is the part of a recipe for your own personalized core to become an advanced being."

I shake my head, 'At least it was worth it. That judgment of me is fair. Quite the rewards I had gained. Most of which are related to the lightning that I had to endure which is understandable.But that last reward is quite something. Let me check it.'

I open up my inventory to check it.

Item: Personalized Core Formula {Fragment}

This formula will help you create the perfect core for you. The core will become a combination of everything you have accomplished up to forming it. This is only a fragment as you aren't anywhere close to being able to form a core.

Even though this formula can create the perfect core for you, that doesn't mean you will be able to survive the process. But if you do, your core will be among the best cores to have been created. People all over spend years developing the right core formula for them. Then spend years gathering the materials for it.

While there are others who use a formula recipe that is readily available. Creating a personalized core is dangerous and not guaranteed to get you to being an advanced being. As if you fail during the creation of the core itself, you will die. The benefits are exponential the more difficult of a personalized core you make, the better your benefits.

Ingredients needed are listed below;

4 Gallons of your own blood

1 Gallon of phoenix blood

1 Gallon of blood dragon blood

Find more fragments for the list to expand. The more fragments you have the more of the list will be revealed to you. After you get the whole list there are still more fragments that will outline exactly how you are to craft the core.

I smile, 'Well it is a start. But how am I to get blood from those two creatures? I guess I'll figure it out when I get to that point. But doesn't that seem a bit excessive. But a perfect core for me. It might not be. I don't even know what benefits one gets from a core.'

I go to walk when I get a notification, "New quest: Gather up all the fragments of the personalized core formula. Reward: 100% success rate on crafting the core."

I laugh, "Well now I have to get all the fragments."

I close the menu and start to walk through the forest once again. 'I've got time to contact Agnignis. But should I? I'm not too sure if I want to just yet. Agnignis hasn't contacted me again. So at least they aren't being pushy about it. I'll just send a response.'

I open up the chat and send a message to Agnignis, "Tell me why contact me specifically?"

After sending that short message I close it and walk through the forest. After that experience with the judge I am in no hurry to get through this forest. Yes I have quests to complete. But the pain still lingers in my mind. It wasn't fun to go through.

At least the judge was nice enough to stay there until I woke to make sure nothing attacked me. But I really hope I don't have to go through something like that again. But I do feel like I have grown physically stronger. I wonder if I will ever find someone else that will be of the carnage incarnate race. Wouldn't that be something?

I also wonder where Snow may be in this world. That is if she is even here. But where else could she have reincarnated? If it was earth, then I am just as unlikely to find her there as I am here. But I promised to find her if reincarnation exists. That I would do my best to do so.

Snow has probably reincarnated into this world somewhere. Whereas it seems like Agnignis has regressed. Otherwise why would he know something that he shouldn't. Perhaps he knows I would think like that and is using that to try and get close to me for them. Well there is much for me to do and find out.
