Bad Timing

" you look lost Lyra", Nora looks at her skeptical trying to read her expression, she can feel her sadness.

" Just remembered something back then,

" Where are your parents, am sure you ain't eighteen yet",

Lyra let out a sorrowful laugh, shaking her head, " it not something I can tell at a time like this, we need to leave here before it gets dark". 

" I just wants to know who am with", Nora said looking at Lyra who was avoiding her eyes.

" I'll tell you all you wants to know, but we need to leave here, Rayd needs a physician". She said her voice lace with worry.

Nora looks at Rayd who was still laying lifeless not far from her, his skin has become paler. She runs her hand along his hair moving a few strand covering his eyes. Her eye linger for few minute, she close her eyes resting her head at the tree behind her, she exhaled softly calming her self down, she needs to be rational at the situation they're in. One more wrong mistake would surely cost them their life's.

" You're right, we should leave before it gets dark, predators comes out at night". 

"Where should we go", Lyra was looking at Nora expectedly.

" we can't go back to Paciras at a time like this, it's still chaotic with what's going on, You know the Grim Ford right?", Nora asked Lyra whom nods her head indicating yes. " A friend of the queen leaves there, but now that I think about what happened, the queen just wanted to send us away", Nora said looking sad remembering what happen.

"We should go to Moonrise Kingdom, I know a few wolf shifters there, we should be able to live there for the time being". 

" No we can't", Lyra said shaking her head fear evident on her face. Nora clenched her chest releasing a low groan. It sure hurts alot. Lyra notices as she glance apologically to Nora. 

" Am sorry", she said softly

" Does mentioning Moonrise scares you this much", Nora asks looking at her pitifully.

" Just some stuff about my past", 

Nora nods her head without uttering any more word, but she can still feel the lingering fear and sadness surging into her soul like a brewing volcano, it scares her how bad it rending breathless. If it just a portion of what her bondmaid is feeling how is she sitting comfortably like a hurricane isn't brewing in her chest.

" Lyra", Nora calls her gently, Lyra raise her gaze to her, 

" It killing me, whatever you're doing to your self". 

A drop of tears slips out of her eyes, it also wrenches her soul smothering it. Looking at Nora guiltily, she cough out a mouthful of blood, her body going numb and weak. With much difficulty, Nora went to her side and palms her face gently, Lyra open her close lid to look at Nora. 

" We.... needs to ta...ke your brother to a phy.....si...cian, it's his pain and it killing me also", she manage to say, even thou she said it out loud, her voice came out as a whisper. 

Nora looked at her a bit lost, is she kidding her, how can she feel Rayd pain, she's not his mate. Unless if she's indeed his mate, but his mate resides in Moonrise Kingdom. Nora eyes widen, she takes a closer look at Lyra, she was sure Rayd mate was suppose to have black hair not white, she's also the princess of Moonrise.

" Lyra", Nora calls harshly, Lyra opened her eyes once again gazing at Nora. " Don't play me Lyra, his mate was suppose to be the princess of Moonrise and Alpha Sylvan assured us the princess was safe after the Luna passed away". 

" They killed her Nora, they killed my mom". She said her voice trembling, she let out a sharp groan trying to muffle her cry. The pain hit Nora hard through their link it makes her go on her knees.

" Stop whatever it is you're doing to your body Lyra, it hurts alot". Nora shakes her a little. 

" Am not doing it Nora, it Rayd". She said her voice strain, she's been feeling uneasy since when they came out of the space vortex, turns out it related to her unconscious mate.

Nora's turned her attention to Rayd who was convulsing from where he lay, his body shakes vigorously and his chest rise and falls in a faster motion. Nora runs to him hastily, she picks his head and place it on her lap palming his face softly. 

" Rayd", she calls rubbing his face gently. She gets no reaction, his body still shaking vigorously. She turns to Lyra whose eyes was on them but still have a painful expression on her face. The pain was less for Nora but she knows the young princess has something to do with it. Without much thought she incline for her to move closer.

" If you're truly the princess..... Nora halt her word, " I mean if you're truly his mate, he should know you're close right, his soul should know it's other half is desperate for him right". Nora's voice was shaking a bit even when she's trying to be strong. She can't loose him too, not now that his dream of finding a beautiful mate is about to be fulfilled.

Lyra place her shaking hand gentle on his chest as if afraid of touching him, she rubs her hand in circle gentle caressing his chest, his body jolt seeming aware of her presence, the convulsion stops, his breathing very slow almost lifeless once more. Nora sigh lowly relaxing to the ground. She looks at Lyra who did same sinking her head between her knees. 

" I thought you only feel for each other after completing the bond ritual", she asks Nora raising her head to look at Rayd. 

" That what I also know about mate bond, the link only works after the rituals, but your pairing is different Lyra, you should know the cognition, the alliance were made in your land not ours". 

" My Grandma told me all those stuff and why we're always on the run, but she never explain the alliance between the wolf's and the mermaid". 

" Let gets to safety then we can sort all the issues out, where do you think we can get the best healers".

" I overheard some machineries talking about this town 'the Paraville', you know, the one at the farthest end of the realm, it said they had a sort of ways to treat people", 

" I know Paraville Lyra, they had a modern way to treat people, but it just Human, it the human world Lyra and they are called Doctors".

Lyra gasped in suprise, she read a lot of books in the small libraries she gets to find when they goes to town with her grandma, but she never read one about the human world.

" The machineries said something about a telecommunicative device, what do they call it again" Lyra hums lightly trying to recall what she heard.

Nora smiled seeing how immersed she is, how can she be oblivious to all those things, every royalty learned those trival knowledge when they're little, then what she said hit her, they killed her mom, which means the Luna was killed but not dead while giving birth, something is wrong somewhere, if she's the real Princess, who's Alpha Sylvan trying to propose to them as her brothers mate. She looks at Lyra whose still lost in racking her brain. 

" It a cellphone Lyra, you sure is ignorant for a princess", 

Lyra made a pitiful face like someone who's at the verge of tears, Nora laughs at her reaction.

" Well, every kingdom educate their younglings on these kind of stuff, I don't know how you're an exception". Lyra cast her eyes downward hearing Nora's words, of cause she wasn't raised in the palace but at the edge of a cliff so she's indeed an exception. 

" That apart, the Paraville only treats humans but Rayd here need a magical healer". Nora said standing up to pick their bags. 

" I know of this town Whitehaven, they have the best healers but their payment is a bit high", Lyra said also standing up. 

" You're like forgetting we're one of the wealthiest among the four kingdoms in this realm". That's when Nora notice her dress from where she's standing.

" Ain't that dress a bit to short for you", she asks her eyes wandering around her slim figure.

" It just easier when I changed, it has this opening that when I change it just hang up around my neck like some sort of a necklace". She said opening up her dress a little.

Nora just nods her head without saying more word about the dress, " lead the way then, to Whitehaven we go". In a swift minutes, a large wolf was standing tall in front of her. Nora pat's her head moving closer to where Rayd was laying. 

" You need to help me young wolf". Nora said trying to get Rayd on the wolf back.
