Chapter 2

"Isn't that your father?" asked Yuma quietly.

"Yes..."I murmured, "What does he want here?"

I saw my father and his secretary coming towards us. My father is an asshole. His name is Taro Suzuta. He is divorced from my mother and married a new one right after the separation. Apart from that, he doesn't care about us and never has. With me I don't see it so bad, but with Yuki it's something different and meanwhile he should just stay out of our lives, we live better without him. He is not well-disposed towards me, he thinks that I am too dominant for a woman.

"What are you doing here father? I didn't ask you to come here!" I asked angrily.

My father came up to me and looked at me sadly: "I wanted to go to your house, to congratulate your sister and give her ,her gift. An then I thought I could take you with me right away."

I clicked my tongue and said snappily, "Then don't think, I can walk home quite well. Besides, you're not welcome there!" I turned away from my father and pulled Yuma by his arm. He quickly came closer and asked me if it was okay to just leave my father like that.

"Pff! I don't care," I replied annoyed.

Damn it! What is my father up to? Why does he want to come for her birthday? He never came! So why this year all of a sudden?"

We walked in silence for a while until Yuma asked me what I would give Yuki to her birthday. I responded with a new book.

Yuma looked at me and asked, "Oh, how great, is it a new book of yours?"

"Yes, a fantasy book. Yuki is supposed to be the protagonist"

Yuma asked very enthusiastically if he could borrow it, whereupon I said that he had to ask Yuki then.

He patted himself on the head and said, "That's right! It belongs to her."

I am a hobby writer. I started when I was 9, my artist name is Ryu Akazawa, Yuma gave me the name Nickname because he was the first to know that I was writing a book. In the meantime I have already broken out 15 books. In addition, they are very popular. I write about different things, but what plays a role in every book, are mythical creatures. I'm obsessed with mythical creatures, they've always fascinated me, especially monsters.

Yuma is always happy when he can read a book from me.

Oh and another reason why I'm angry with my father is because he just read and published my first book. Only Yuma and my family know that I wrote the books. We also get quite a lot of money for the books, so my mother can work part-time.

"I'm home! ", I exclaimed.

"Hello... Ah, Hello Yuma you also came ,that makes me happy." , my mother greeted us with a smile.

My mother's name is Saki, she's 42 years old and a prosecutor.

"Yes, Kuro said it was alright, that's why I came along." he replied, returning a smile.

My mother clapped her hands and said that Yuki would be happy to see Yuma.

I asked if Yuki wasn't here yet, to which my mother replied, no. She went into the kitchen and asked if we would help to decorate a little.

We nodded, I made another dessert, my sister's favorite pudding.

When we saw my sister coming in through the front gate, we quickly hid in the dining room. When she came into the dining room we surprised her and started singing. She was happy about everything, especially when she saw Yuma. He is like a big brother to her. While we were eating, the doorbell suddenly rang. I stood up and shouted: "I'll come, wait a moment!"

Yuki asked who was coming, whereupon my mother only shrugged. When I opened the door I was surprised.

My father stood at the door and asked if Yuki was already there.

I was enraged and asked angrily, "What are you doing here? I told you, that you weren't wanted!" I wanted to close the door right away, but my father quickly put his foot in between them to stop me.

"Don't always be so dismissive Kuro," he said.

"Kuro who's there?" my mother called from the dining room.

"Nobody!" I shouted and pushed against the door to get my dad away finally. In the end was Yuki running around the corner and happily shouted 'Daddy'

My father grinned over Yuki's shoulder as he hugged her.

My mother just came around the corner and didn't look very happy. I told him that he wasn't wanted here. It was clear to me in advance that he might come, but that he would really come...

My mother asked him in out of politeness, so as not to look rude in front of Yuki. When he entered the kitchen he saw Yuma and said, "Oh didn't think you were here."

"He is at least welcome here, not like others," I replied angrily as I rammed him with my shoulder as I passed.

Then Yuki looked at me questioningly, so I stroked her head and smiled.

"Hey Yuki, there's a gift waiting for you outside." my father said to change the subject. Yuki looked at him with an overwhelmingly happy look.

She wanted to run out, but my mother stopped her and said not until she had finished eating.

For a long time there was silence between everyone. No one dared to say anything. My father was, of course, the one who couldn't stand the silence. "As always, you have great ideas for food Saki."

My mother looked at him sadly and I replied bitingly "Well, unfortunately I was the one who suggested the raclette."

My father paused, then everything went quiet again, it was an unpleasant mood.

My father looked at Yuma and then asked why my other friend wasn't here. I got up with an mad look and said angrily that it was none of his business.
