Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Or will people be there to catch him if he does once again?

Risk It?

Walking up to the girl he had just saved he impatiently grabbed her hand as he checked her body for any extra scratches while his anger soothed hearing the bodies burn in the background while his other friends kept watch. "I let her get hurt again." He had gone up ahead to scout things out a bit but ended up getting caught in another fight that slowed down his return resulting in this mess. "If I was a little later..." Shivering at the thought of what if's he shook it out of his head as he held her cheek happy that she seemed relatively alright.

"Marie are you alright?"

"I am now Zilan, thank you."

"Good, what about you two as well?"

Not even bothering to turn around and look at his friends all his focus was on Marie for the most part however that didn't mean he didn't care about them either.

"Yeah, yeah we're good, just a couple of scratches."

"We should probably get moving before more of those bastards show up."

Hearing both their voices filled with a touch of laughter he knew they were alright. "They aren't wrong though." The Wolf people had quite a big clan and taking them on all on his own wasn't something he was too keen on doing. "How many of them is this now? I'd be surprised if they didn't hate my guts." Just today alone he had probably killed around twenty or so of their people for getting in his way and now he added another four to that list. "I guess I'll have to take care of them after this little adventure is over." With the help of his family it shouldn't be too hard to eradicate their clan and replace them if need be.

"You're right, let's get moving, I found some things up ahead that might be worth checking out."

With that he grabbed Marie's hand before turning around to the sight of burnt marks all over the ground as his flames died down and began to backtrack. Running in any direction he could Xilo counted down the time he had left as he turned a corner into a giant hall full of quite a bit of people. "Ten or so more minutes." Looking at the crowd that had gathered Xilo wondered what was happening as he spotted a familiar outfit amongst them. "These guys again..." Spotting the Wolves uniform he cursed in his mind well he looked at the other people in the room and noticed the Fish symbol on their jackets or shirts along with openings that lined the side that looked like fins of fish. However the thing that caught his attention the most was what they seemed to be arguing about.

"Back off, we were here first."

"Oh please, we both know you're full of it."

Looking at what he presumed to be the two leaders of their groups fighting XIlo focused his attention on the object in the middle that seemed to be a chest sitting in the middle of the room. "Well looks like they got lucky." Hearing them bicker about this and that he understood the general situation that had happened. "So they both let some other people open it then swooped down and killed them afterwards...Explains the corpses on the ground I guess but now they can't decide what to do with it." Staring at the four bodies on the ground he mouthed a silent sorry to them as he tried to figure out what to do in this situation.

"I should leave."

He only had ten minutes until he had to recloak and in that time they would definitely notice him even if it was for a short second. "Can I take all these people on by myself?" In total there were about twenty or so of them all hovering around the fourth or fifth stage. "However, It looks like there's some pretty useful things in there." From what he could see or heard since entering this room there were quite a bit of things in that chest to help gain some power like Astral Crystals and even one of the Elemental Crystals he had found before though much smaller. "I could use more of those." After seeing what it had done for his Astral ice he was itching for more of it along with more power. Lately he had felt incredibly weak and that had nagged at him for quite a while but with those he could speed up the process however risks were involved here.

"probably some of the best stuff I've found so far..."

Staring at the chest he debated to himself the ups and downs of it, trying to convince himself however he was hesitant. "I've done stuff like this before, I should be able to do it again." Telling himself that he slowly convinced himself to give it a try as he watched from behind a pillar in the back. "It's just a matter of how." He knew he could be stealthy like this and do it but no matter what they were going to notice when the things they wanted were gone. "I guess I need a distraction of sorts." If he wanted to do this he would have to drag their attention away from it for a period of time or else it wouldn't work.

"Oh look at that!"

Hearing another voice suddenly enter his ears he turned to look at where it was coming from as he saw two people enter the room. "You're kidding me right?" Not really knowing what to think about it, he watched as two women entered the room that he was fairly familiar with. "Why'd it have to you two of all the other people here and why now?" He had thought he had lost them before but it seems they managed to catch up purely by luck.

"This changes a lot of things...."

Using them as bait was not something he wanted to do even if he disliked Tearia immensely. "But Maybe they can help me just this once." It was better then nothing.

Enjoy.
