The void trial

I turned my head. Marching towards me were three. No. Six. No. Ten guards.

They were all armed with short swords at theirs sides and spears at their back.

~Shit! I have to run!~

I turned to run to an alley.

*Shing*

But one of the guards was quicker. They torn a gash through the back of my knees causing me to topple to the ground.

"No." I whispered

I began to desperately drag myself away from them.

Only for one of the guards armoured feet to stomp down in front of me.

~turn around.~

I turned. But in every direction there was the guards boots.

Finally after about a minute of rabid turning I found a direction that was free.

The port.

"Beat him till he breaks!"

Their sheathed swords began to slam into me with a barrage of repeated blows.

I felt my back shatter.

And with that wound my mind shifted.

I saw nothing but the dark waters of the dock.

~Crawl.~

With every ounce of my mind and reached out in front of me and dragged myself forwards.

"Wait." Said one of the guards

"Is he going into the water."

"Yeah. I think he is." Said another

"Let him go." Said the gruff voice of the head guard.

And so I crawled to the edge of the port built atop dark deathly waters. And I fell.

"Hkkkkk!"

But a moment before I hit the water the butt of a spear was slammed into my upper back.

All the breath was pushed from my lungs.

And so I sank.

After sinking for about a minute I reached the bottom of the ocean.

It was strange. The lightless nature of this place reminded me of the void.

With one single twist.

Their was ground under me.

And I noticed through my blurry vision that this ground had a slight slop to it.

My legs were shot and spewing blood. My back was shattered also.

So I decided to pull myself forwards with my semi functioning arms.

Time passed like that.

My lungs burned from lack of oxygen. But with my divine power I decided that I didn't need to breathe. So I didn't have to worry about accidentally breathing in water.

I crawled and crawled.

Until everything went black.

🐖🐐🐖🐐🐖

Suddenly I was no longer weightless.

I felt myself pressing into a smooth glass like floor.

I was in darkness.

"Hello. Would you like to discuss the terms and conditions of your demise."

I looked up at that voice.

Above me was a skeletion. It was dressed in a dark black robe that fell down to it's ankles and it had empty black voids in its eye sockets that obscured the back of its skull.

Looking at this sort of creature my mind could summon only a single idea.

Rejuvenated by some strange sense of strength I pulled myself to my feet.

Despite my knees being slashed I was able to stand.

My hands glowed with gold and I cracked my knuckles.

"How about no."

"Wh——"

The skeleton wasn't given a chance to respond as I slammed my fist. into iT'S WEAK ASS FACE!

Its bones shattered splattering fragments in every direction.

🐖🐐🐖🐐🐖🐐🐖

I breathed in a fresh breath of rejuvenating air.

But I was still under the water.

I had no time to question this occurrence as I needed to move.

With faltering weak hands I dragged myself forwards.

I moved and I moved and I moved.

And then it all faded to black

~what is this darkness? And why does—_—_—~ I had no ability to think further. My thoughts had shattered in my mind like cheap glass.

🐖🐐🐖🐐🐖

I jumped to my feet again.

I was again in that same glass floored void.

The skeleton hobbled towards me now coming out of the side of it's shoulder was another skull.

It was manipulated by what looked like a long bone tentical and it had only darkness in it's eyes.

"Would Like. Discuss the"

You To

Terms

They spoke in turns up until the last word.

I couldn't help but crack my knuckles once more.

"Fuck no!"

I darted towards it and swung my fist towards the first one's skull.

It shattered .

The second skeletion lunged for my neck. But I managed to duck back in time.

I gave the skeleton a good old clobber to the head.

The void vanished.

🐖🐐🐖🐐🐖🐐

Once more I awoke under the water.

I breathed in a breath of fresh life giving air.

Despite the fact that there was no air to breathe.

Again I crawled forward.

~I have to live. I have to live.~

After what had to be a year of crawling my vision faltered.

🐖🐐🐖🐐🐖

I jumped to my feet again. I was in the darkness.

"Discuss the

Terms

And conditions"

Screamed the skeleton.

It now possessed three heads. It hobbled towards me.

I cracked my knuckles.

"Let's go bitch!"

I punched the first one in the face. It's head shattered.

I ducked back dodging the two offshoot heads as they chomped at me and sent my fist flying forwards.

Their skulls shattered.

🐖🐐🐖🐐🐖

You know the drill. Breath of life giving air.

Blah blah blah. Crawl till I die.

Then I fight four skulls.

Then I fight five.

Then seven.

Then eight.

Then a hundred.....

🐖🐐🐖🐐🐖

I looked at the form of the skeleton. It had no robe and it was hunched like an wolf from the weight of its skulls.

It had so many skulls that I couldn't barely comprehend their scope.

It was truly a creature beyond my ken. So my mind burned with a question.

~How do I fight this thing?~

I wasn't given time to think up an answer to that question as the skeleton darted towards me.

I threw my fists forwards in a barrage.

I shattered every skull in front of me.

Or at least I thought I did.

"Ackh!" I screamed as a skull bit into my back.

I slammed my fist into the skull.

I heard it crack. But I couldn't get a good enough angle to fully destroy it.

And as I did that another skull leaped forward and began to bite me.

"Ahhh!"

Three, four, five, six.

Soon I was being chewed on by a whole squad of skeletons.

While suppressed by exponential pain my mind began to bow down to a certain towering concept.

~Safety. Safety. Where's safe. I need safe~

My eyes darted around searching for the illustrious safe.

My gaze searched and searched but all I found was void.

Until….

I found it.

The great fortress I saw, was the ribcage of the skeleton. The holes were small. No one could reach me there.

I ran towards the skeleton. I didn't pay any mind to the skulls biting me.

I shattered the skull blocking the neck of the skeleton and dived through that opening to its ribs.

I scraped the skeletons' heads jawing me off while doing so.

And there I was. Sitting within the skeleton's ribcage.

The skulls slammed their heads into the ribs of the skeletons.

Over and over until they shattered.

To hold those many skulls the ribcage and spine had to be incredibly dense.

I had figured it out.

I was free.

I made it.
