Re: Rune Factory ~A Fantasy Harvest Moon~

Falling out of the sky from a height that I could have died from, waking up in an unfamiliar and strange place wherever I looked, and not remembering a shred of who I really am. This is how it all started... This is how my new life began in this fantastic world. ____________________________________ "English is not my main language, but I try my best." This fanfic is based on the Rune Factory videogame saga. At the same time, it encompasses its entire universe with some pretty significant changes. The beginning is really quiet, but that is completely necessary to fully develop the story in the future and discover all the mysteries of the world, enjoy the story and discover for yourself what time hid for everyone.

Day 271: New home (I)

"I didn't expect to see you around here again, did something happen?" Blake was the first to speak when Raven's figure reached them. He had to say that it wasn't common for her to come to visit him, actually it was the first time, so Blake was curious.

"I remembered what Nana told me in the morning, did everything go well…?" Raven had taken the initiative to start the topic of conversation, and it seemed that she had arrived at just the right time as she was looking at the small wooly that seemed to be hiding behind Blake.

"That's right, I told Raven about your idea to take care of a monster and she told me about the fact that Gaius was building the barn." Blake was already trying to guess what Raven meant, but Nana's explanation left clear everything.

"So that was it. Don't worry, Raven. Everything went better than expected, this little one here is Baal." Blake moved a little so that the nervous figure of Baal appeared fully in front of Raven.

Losing the only security wall, Baal began to panic a bit. He still wasn't used to being surrounded by humans, maybe he felt trust from Blake and Nana, but Raven was someone new to him... Although those complicated feelings he was experiencing wouldn't last long.

"Hi..." Raven had approached and then crouched down to faced Baal. "My name is Raven."

Both Blake and Nana were a bit surprised as they felt that Raven wasn't acting like herself. No fault detect any defensive or unemotional tone in her voice, and although she was still surrounded by an incredible calm, her words tried to be as pleasant as possible.

Baal had sensed all of this, and after he hesitated for a bit, he started to get closer to Raven little by little until he was able to make contact with her.

"Perhaps you feel somewhat confused now. I am sure that you live comfortably in the forest of the beginnings and now you are in this unknown place." Baal was paying a lot of attention to Raven since he agreed with her. "Don't worry, the time will come when you return to your original home, but for now try to get used to it a bit. It seems that you have taken some trust in Blake, he has a perfect place where you can live and I assure you that he will take care of you, so do not be afraid… Maybe you even like it so much that you start to see it as a new home."

A deep silence filled the place after Raven finished saying those words to Baal at the same time that she began to caress him a bit, which he did not avoid. Blake and Nana couldn't help but look at each other, they couldn't remember, but possibly this was the time they heard Raven say more than a few sentences and on her own initiative.

They were both aware of Raven's lack of communication skills with other people, but that didn't seem to be the case for monsters, or at least that was implied by her acting.

Raven had finished her little talk with Baal and was on her feet once more before a question reached her ears.

"Raven, are you an instructor?" Nana asked that question as she was very curious, the way Raven had interacted with Baal and the deep feeling of trust and warmth conveyed by him made Nana understand that Raven was very talented in understanding monsters.

"No... I'm not..." And as if the above had never happened, Raven returned to her usual attitude of hers. She was aware of the existence of the instructors, but Nana's question struck her as a bit strange.

"I'm sorry if my question was weird, it's just that I was surprised at how easily you were able to interact with Baal, so I subconsciously thought of that, but I'm not lying, I'm sure you'd be a great instructor, aren't you interested?" Nana wanted to take the opportunity to comment on that, but Raven would destroy her hopes and dreams without hesitation.

"I think I'm fine like this, thanks." Raven herself didn't want to be rude, but she didn't feel like becoming an instructor, besides she didn't have a proper place to care for monsters.

The next thing that was seen was a dramatic scene where Nana was crouching in the corner of the cultivated fields with an imaginary gray cloud above her to represent her sadness at that moment, in addition to Baal having approached her to pat her back complementing the situation.

"Haha… Don't worry about Nana, she gets really excited when the topic of instructors comes up. She helped me become one today." Blake hadn't cared about Nana's status either, so he started a new conversation highlighting the fact that he was now an instructor. "I was able to bond with Baal, even though I am still a complete novice in all of this."

Blake's nervous laughter had come out again since he knew his explanation was too basic, but Raven wasn't concerned about that and only let out her thoughts at that moment.

"I'm happy for you, so it's more likely that everything I told him is true."

"Oh, yeah. Thank you for saying all that to Baal, I could feel his emotions at that moment and you managed to reassure him a lot, and of course I will take good care of him." Blake had already set himself the goal of not neglecting his new partner, although he already had that in mind from the beginning, it was good that Raven reminded him.

"Do you already have a brush?" Raven asked to make sure Blake was ready.

"Yes, Nana gave me one recently." Blake didn't have to lie, and some curiosity awoke in him when he saw Raven looking for something in her sack with great care.

"Then you should take this, I'm sure it will be very useful." Raven brought the small object closer to Blake, he was looking at it carefully and had an idea of what it really was, but it was better that he make sure with the help of his great friend.
