Detective Kenzo Tenma, a composed and experienced investigator, arrived at the scene of the murder alongside his hot-headed assistant, Eve, a blonde European woman. They stepped into the dimly lit room where the lifeless bodyguard lay in a pool of blood.
Kenzo, unfazed by the gruesome scene, took a deep breath and surveyed the area with a calculating gaze. His eyes narrowed as he began to piece together the events that had transpired. "Looks like we've got our work cut out for us, Eve," he said in a low, steady voice.
Eve, on the other hand, couldn't help but clench her fists in anger, her eyes flashing with indignation. "Who could have done such a thing?" she snapped, her voice tight with frustration. "And why?"
As they continued to examine the crime scene, they were joined by a rookie officer, his face pale and his hands shaking.
Upon seeing the bodyguard's mutilated corpse, he turned away abruptly and vomited, the sound of his retching echoing through the room.
Kenzo, his expression remaining neutral, glanced over at the rookie with a hint of empathy. "First time at a murder scene, huh, kid?" he asked gently.
The rookie, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, nodded. "Yes, sir," he mumbled, his face a mixture of embarrassment and horror. "I didn't expect it to be so... gruesome."
Eve, her eyebrows raised in annoyance, crossed her arms over her chest. "You'd better toughen up, rookie. This isn't going to be the last crime scene you see," she said, her voice harsh.
Kenzo held up a hand to silence her, a stern look in his eyes. "Eve, that's enough. We were all rookies once." Turning back to the nervous officer, he offered a reassuring smile. "It'll get easier, I promise. Just focus on the task at hand and try to detach yourself from the emotional aspect."
The rookie nodded gratefully, his shoulders relaxing slightly as he took a deep breath and steeled himself for the investigation ahead.
Surrounded by the disarray of the dimly lit room, Detective Kenzo Tenma and his team continued their investigation. Broken furniture and shattered glass littered the floor, a testament to the violence that had occurred.
The walls, once pristine, were now marred with blood splatters and scratches.
As Kenzo and Eve examined the scene, they noticed a black bag lying near the bodyguard's corpse. He shot her a disapproving glance. "Eve, you really shouldn't bring rookies to new cases like this," he said in a firm, but not unkind, tone.
Eve responded with a short sneer, her eyes narrowing in annoyance. "Well, they have to learn somehow, don't they?"
Ignoring her retort, Kenzo carefully approached the black bag and opened it, his face betraying no emotion as he inspected its contents. He then knelt beside the corpse and examined the wounds on both bodies, his keen eyes taking in every detail.
"From the looks of it," he said thoughtfully, "the bodyguard put up quite a fight before he was overpowered. The killer, however, was obviously skilled and knew what they were doing."
He collected some blood samples using a small swab and handed them to Eve. "Take these to the lab for analysis. We might find some traces that can give us more information about the attacker."
Kenzo furrowed his brow as he studied the bodyguard's injuries more closely. He noticed a pattern in the wounds that suggested the attacker had deliberately inflicted pain upon him. "Look here," he said, pointing out the various cuts and bruises that seemed to serve no purpose other than causing agony.
"The killer wasn't just trying to take him down; they wanted him to suffer."
As the rookies listened intently, Kenzo continued his analysis. "This level of sadism and precision suggests that our attacker had a personal vendetta against the bodyguard. Something pushed them over the edge."
Next, he turned his attention to the woman's body. Unlike the bodyguard, she had only one wound on her neck. Kenzo's eyes narrowed as he considered the implications of this. "The woman was just a bystander," he concluded. "The killer must have seen her as a witness... no a prey, if you look closely there is a knife scratch near the place she died."
"She was just someone who needed to be silenced, an innocent bystander"
The rookies exchanged glances, their eyes wide with a mixture of shock and admiration. They couldn't believe how quickly and accurately Kenzo was able to piece together the events that had unfolded in the room.
Eve, however, was not surprised by her partner's deductive prowess. She knew that he had a rare gift for reading crime scenes, an ability that had made him one of the best detectives on the force.
Eve nodded, taking the samples with a curt "Got it," before turning to leave the room.
As they continued their investigation, a dark-haired man with a serious face and spectacles entered the room. This was Kenzo's other assistant, who had been gathering information about the victim.
"Kenzo," he said, adjusting his glasses, "I've learned that the bodyguard worked for the Kurogane family but was fired. Strangely enough, there's no explanation for his disciplinary dismissal."
Kenzo frowned, his eyes narrowing in thought. "So, dirty business, huh?" He let out a weary sigh, glancing around the room. "This may be more than we can handle."
As Kenzo finished his analysis, he looked up at his team, his expression determined. "We need to find out more about this bodyguard and his connection to the Kurogane family," he said. "If we can understand the motive behind this brutal attack, we might be able to anticipate the killer's next move."
The team exchanged concerned glances, understanding that they had stumbled upon something much larger and more dangerous than a simple murder case.
