Meeting Amelia

After lunch he practiced Occlumency for a little bit. It was a lot easier to grasp when you were just trying to organize your mind and not protect it from intruders, but it will still take him a long time considering how many memories he has that don't belong to him. He remembers vague ideas and glimpses of Riddle's memories but not them in their entirety. Then a memory struck him, Sirius Black was innocent! That was something he could do for Harry! Quinn was going to talk to Dumbledore in an hour anyway, why not start with that instead of going down the dark and gloomy pathway that was talking about horcruxes.

Quinn took long and firm strides towards Albus' office and as soon as he reached it, the gargoyle gave way to the spiral staircase. Before he could knock, Albus opened the door. "Finally we can talk! I was hoping you'd have some interesting information to give about all this. Maybe you have some locations there in your head! Maybe some proof of-" but Quinn interrupted the excited old man. "Sirius Black is innocent." Albus blinked a couple of times in confusion before it struck him. His eyes widened and he had a hard time remaining standing, so he quickly sat down on his chair.

Albus looked at Quinn with sadness, guild and determination in his eyes. "Are you absolutely certain?" Without hesitation Quinn responded "Yes. Pettigrew sold them out. He had been his spy for months at that point." Albus sighed and decided that maybe the tea he prepared wasn't strong enough. Although he wasn't a man who drank often, he opened the bottle of firewhiskey he kept in his desk. He conjured two glasses. "You want one?" Quinn shook his head so Albus took both shots. "You're telling me I've let an innocent man stay in Azkaban for almost 11 years?" Quinn sighed but nodded solemnly. He didn't think Albus would take it so personally but now that he thought about it, Albus knew the guy pretty well and was the Chief Warlock even back then so could have had a lot of sway in a trial.

Albus walked over to the fireplace, threw in some floo powder and said "Moody". Within three seconds, a rough voice responded. "What?" Albus only barely let out "Emergency, level anchovies" and it didn't take two seconds before a man stepped in from the fireplace in a rush. He had a fake eye that seemed to wander on its own accord, a peg leg and scars covering every unclothed part of his body. Quinn was too scared to think what the clothed parts would look like. He spoke instantly. "What's happened Albus? I haven't seen you this upset in a bit over 10 years." Albus nodded and sat down again. "It's Sirius.." Moody, who Quinn now recognized as Mad-eye Moody the legendary auror, seemed to stare even more intensely at Albus. "What about the poor lad? Has death finally come to get him?"

Albus shook his head and took another shot of firewhiskey. Moody looked worriedly at the older man. "You were right Moody. He's innocent." Then Moody's eyes widened so far Quinn thought his fake eye would pop out of its socket. He then grabbed a flask that sat on his waist and threw it at the wall. He yelled out at the headmaster "What do you mean he's innocent?! You've claimed all these years that it was an open and shut case! What evidence managed to finally convince you that Sirius, the black sheep of house Black, wouldn't betray his brother in all but blood?"

Albus pointed at Quinn. Moody had obviously been aware that he was there, but assumed it was just some strange kind of prefect thing that they came over the summer to learn everything about the castle or something. "What's your name lad?" Quinn straightened his back at the question that sounded like a command. "Quinn Quirrell, sir!" Moody nodded and looked as if he recognized something in Quinn. "And how do you know Sirius is innocent?"

Now Albus intervened. "Sadly that is a complicated matter. What matters is that Pettigrew was the one who betrayed them and probably killed those muggles as well. We need to talk to Sirius immediately!" Moody let out a 'Hmph..' but accepted it. He seemed used to the fact that Albus didn't share every detail with him. "Alright, let's go right away then. I know the men on duty today, I can probably let us get a meeting in just half an hour." he pointed at Quinn "Oi Lad, you're coming with!" He nodded in response "Yes, sir!"

The three went through the floo to the ministry and made their way towards the head of law enforcement's office. Quinn was surprised to see that it wasn't a giant spectacle which showed pride of instigated fear. It was a rather calming area actually, with soft looking sofas in the waiting area and a nice looking woman as a secretary. "What is your business here Mr. Moody?" She said in a sweet voice, but not too sweet.

Moody looked at her with a menacing look trying to scare her but it didn't even make her move a muscle. "An urgent business about a death eater. Amelia is going to want to hear this right now, or she'll read about it in the newspapers tomorrow."

The woman dropped her smile and nodded. She walked up to the door with the nameplate "Amelia Bones" on it and went inside. There must be powerful silencing charms or wards on that place, because Quinn couldn't hear a thing from the office. After 15 seconds she came back and held the door open. "Please enter Mr. Moody, Mr. Dumbledore and...Quirrell??" She added the last part with a dumbfounded look and clear surprise in her eyes.

This was the first time she properly looked at Quinn and once she dropped her sweet facade he noticed that he recognized the woman. He went to school with her. Didn't know her personally of course, but they went the same year and if he wasn't mistaken she was Gilderoy's first 'catch'. He met her with a smile and a questioning look as if he didn't know her. "Indeed, good guess!"

And then they entered to avoid conversation, the woman was left outside. Quinn took a look at Bones instead. Now this was what Quinn considered a beautiful but powerful woman. She looked intensely strict but her tight clothes beneath her open robes didn't hide her curves. Her lovely red hair hung to her neck in a slanted bob-cut and her eyes were dull grey. As she put her monocle down her face looked rather round and sweet but the hard expression on display made him want to submit to her. Strange feeling, Quinn didn't know he had a submissive side to him. Although he probably should have figured it out due to how easily he submitted to Voldemort..

"What's happened Moody? You never come to my office like this." She spoke with a gruff tone but by Merlin it made her hotter by the word. "Sirius Black. We have new evidence that he's innocent." Her eyes widened so much that if she hadn't removed the monocle it would have fallen out now.

But Albus intervened. "Sadly, the evidence we have is not applicable in court." He gestured for Quinn who waved. Ms. Bones gathered herself and spared a glance at him. Quinn shivered with a smile. "We are going to take some truth serum and question him at Azkaban, we want you to come with us."

Now her eyes sadly went back to Albus and she sighed. "If you really believe in the boy's evidence then I will come with you. Just let me swap my coat." As she went behind a screen, Quinn looked at her desk and found that it was very spartan. As was the entire office really. It was a simple desk with two things on it. A bunch of papers, and a photo frame with a young girl in it jumping around in puddles. Quinn picked up the photo and smiled, he wondered if kids didn't have it all figured out. He wished he could be as careless as her and be pleased with the smallest thing.

Someone cleared their throat next to him and he looked over to see Ms. Bones reaching out for the photo frame. Quinn gave it to her. "You have a very cute daughter Ms. Bones, though with your genes I don't suppose that surprises you. How old is she?" He managed to give her a genuine smile and saw how her hard face melted at the thought of the girl.

"My niece actually, but I take care of her as my own. She's twelve, going to be in her second year at Hogwarts after the summer." She ignored the personal compliment. Ms. Bones took the photo and placed it back on the counter, smiled at Quinn once more, and he could feel his cheeks heat up. Then she shook her head and was back to the stern expression. "Let's go then!"

A/N: No. Quinn is not going to be a sub or a simp in the future. This is just a slightly joking way to establish that he is attracted to powerful women. He will want someone who can take care of themselves and who can push him forward at times, but he will not become someone who just falls to her feet if you know what I mean.
