Soft Red Goo

Her eyes opened with the rising sun, she lifted up, squinting in the warm gleam of light, but it offered little recollection of what happened after eating the fruit. The scenery now was completely different, the trees lost their darkness, here and there on the ground were crystals, colorful mushrooms and pink flowers. But the most peculiar thing, the lack of weariness towards the creature standing 10 feet away. One of its neck heads seemed to be munching on a crystal, but wasn't chewing, just holding it in its mouth. The nexus looked at her then dropped the crystal, its other head subsequently puked out a soft red goo that littered the ground. She averted her eyes, then got up to follow as it took off.

Not too far, they met up with a clear body of water of light teal and caribbean green. The nexus knelt, pointed towards the water then began to drink, scooping it up to its mouths. As she began to do the same, she realized it wasn't clear at all, not even past the very surface. The taste, it felt alive.

Her body seemed to bounce back strong after yesterday's adversity, quenching thirst with joy was all but too easy. Sure the water was refreshing, mystically so, but these deeper patterns of mood have always been something she's kept an eye on. Whenever powering through a dreadful situation, even if it spoils her day, the next will be met with high spirits whether justified or not. If she had powered through the negativity of Fisher's meeting, this current feeling could have been experienced in the comfort of her own home the day after. No, not exactly, not this profound. As of now, her lungs cheered the simple presence of air as it visited, exalting fate for keeping it intact with a beating heart.

Continuing on, wherever they were to go, she couldn't help but start to think the nexus didn't intend on harming her. Considering what's happened, it just wouldn't add up.

A thought occurred, maybe what she thought was torment was just innocent probing. She allowed herself a small snicker. "Did it decide to make me its familiar?" ..Yeah, right.

Well, if running was ever an option, it certainly wasn't now in this far out land. The forest smelt rich with exotic plants and flowers, it was rather soothing in spite of the danger it harbored.

"Would it mind if I picked some?"

Resentment would usually sullen away any lighthearted thoughts associated with something foul, but was the nexus foul? Her stance seemed to waver, it became unclear if she was even abducted. A man who did exactly as the creature would understand the implications she'd feel if he were refused. But, did the creature grasp that she felt no choice but to follow?

A leaf was detected within the mess of hair, pulling it out, she flicked it away. If it needed her for something, she just hoped it'd have the decency to escort her back afterwards. All would be forgiven.

Hours passed. They stopped only a moment when the nexus pointed to a mushroom, she plucked it and ate on the go. The mushroom couldn't meet its flavor potential all alone with no preparation, but something resonated through her veins like the wholesome feeling of love, she knew then, the power it held. You'd expect to be impressed, after all, food deep in a forest like this is for royalty. Still, it somehow manages to evade your expectations. Sincerely unique.

The trees became thick and plentiful, blocking out most the sun. There were monkey like creatures swinging about through these parts, some watched her curiously, others jumped down to shield their pizza sized mushrooms from the invasive human.

The grass was gentle, it'd go shin high to thigh every few steps. Within the thin bushes that tucked away tree roots were glowing blue pappuses, like pseudo Hantu Hayalats. It couldn't help but cross her mind, now and then, if the creature was taking her to get one. She hadn't really entertained it, any who would in this situation would be conceited, worthy of mocking.

One of the monkey creatures suddenly used the nexus's back as a prop to jump to another tree. With a blink of disbelief, her eyes shot open, fixed on the audacious juvenile as it swiftly vanished into the leaves. The nexus though, was unbothered.
