Chapter 1 Life after death

Lindiwe opened her eyes and realized she's not in her room but in a space that looked way more technological advance than her world. To be more precise it looked like a terminal but not like bus terminal more like Home affairs terminal but more technological advance. The first thought that came to her mind was "so this is what alien planets look like? ". Just as she was standing there well more like floating there, she heard her name being called and before she could react there was a pulling force that vacuumed her to the terminal/cashier looking cubicle.

While she was still stupified by what she saw and what just happened she heard a voice talking to her but the voice wasn't loud but more like it was talking in her head while it was talking in her head whatever the voice said was projected on the holographic screen in front of her.

The voice was so smoothing as if trying to confort you of any grievances you might have. Truth be told she didn't hear a word that was being said but was mesmerized by the healing voice yet shocked and scared by what was projected.

Lindiwe was always a quick and smart person she already knew she died when she found herself here she just didn't know when but looking and her age and age of death she understood she died on her birthday when she just turned 22 and she died in her sleep before the clock hit midnight .

Also truth be told she didn't care how and why she died and all that. What she wanted to know was what the holographic screen meant when it said her application was successful? cause she never clicked on any adverts, spam messages or anything like that she was just reading a novel like she always do and slept. yes she was depressed but that's a story for another day. what's she needs to know is how and when she filled her application.

I found myself nodding in understanding and I was glad that the higher being heard my prayers and agreed cause in all the novels I read people who tend to transmigrate are Asians not that I have a problem with it but As a black girl I also wanted a chance cause my life was shitty. To others it may not be but to me it was and I was emotionally, physically and spiritually exhausted.

Thinking about my life makes me get frustrated at the higher beings for not answering my other prayers and not giving me a better life and family. like why did I have to suffer so much why me I never said I was strong and I can pull through do they know the amount of suicidal thoughts I had since the early stages of child hood that's not healthy the reason I didn't pull through was because I was too poor for suicide too yeah it my sound unreasonable like anyone can commit suicide well not me.

Allow me to break it down to you the most common ways of committing suicide is either by cutting your wrist, hanging, overdose and jumping right the second option was out for me firstly we didn't have any ropes at home yes we didn't. secondly there was no place to hang my self we had ceilings at home and thirdly we had thick blankets so I couldn't turn them into a rope. even if I didn't where was I going to hang my self at?. the third method I didn't have pills to overdose with I never went to the doctor whenever I was sick and I can't still my mom's pills just for overdosing which I didn't know if it will work or not. which is problematic cause if I somehow survive my life will be more hell than it was . As for jumping there where no places to jump from and for cutting my wrist same as overdosing and hanging if possible I needed to know the exact amount of time I need before I die so that I don't get rescued cause the only time I had to my self was at night and truth be told I didn't have faith in our house's knives they just didn't look like they can do the job and Google couldn't give me the answers I needed they just tell me to call for help the moment I type anything related to suicide ughh.

So yeah suicide was expensive for me cause the most plausible solutions for me which was pills it needed money which I never had.

Well let's not dwell into my life and focus on the lady Infront of me yes it's still the holographic screen but somehow I imagine it as those nice and calm females wearing black and white that you always find at the inquiry section of any organisation whether it be the airport, university, bank etc. You get what I mean right this voice just gives me that image so I already assumed her as female even though it's genderless.

To summarize what the nice inquiry lady said 1) my transmigration is different since Im an applicant meaning I'll be traveling to different worlds and complete missions for eternity. There's no going back so I'll be one of the "headquarters" agents.

2) Unlike the people whom are chosen by systems/higher beings suddenly and transmigrate given a "system" (which she calls an aid) then they're given a reward after completion like going back to their world and the entity turns back time for them blah blah blah basically a contract. I don't have that since I wanted to work here.

However I have my packs such as what system I want (I can even create one according to my preferences) what type of TRANSMIGRATOR I want to be(just going to call them agents from now). she also said I get to get vacation so I won't always be traveling from world to world and with my vacation I can choose to decent on any of the world's available for a certain duration of time like 50 years, 20 years etc and can choose my avatar all depends on whether I can afford it. yes I have to pay for my vacation same as going on a vacation on earth the headquarters will give me vacation days and what I do with them it's up to me nice neh. I can also choose to keep my memories of earth or not part of the perks of being an applicant.

3) I can be promoted/ demoted depending on my results or even be fired which I'll just go recarnated or soul extinction. yeah rough neh

After the nice voice explain everything I had to fill in my job specification and the type of system I want on the screen.
