[On Hiatus] The hope for better days was Daichi's only reason for enduring his abusive family riddled with addictions, and heartbreaks. But it all came to an end when things just spiraled out of hand when their bodies began dropping like flies. With no family and no friends to call his own, he casts himself from atop a tall building to escape this torturous hell. However, picked right back up from the dead by a demon, he's given a chance to make everyone who'd made his life miserable pay for their actions. Bated by the offer to exact revenge on the bullies and the teachers whose actions led to the suicide of his best friend and then his own, he's pulled into a deep spiral, a spiral that's bound to turn him into a killer of men, women, and monsters! A revenge story that soon evolves into a battle royal amongst demons paired with human partners so they can claim the throne as the next demon king! Notes: 1. The first 10 chapters focus on Mc's trauma, after that the real story begins! 2. The story isn't going to be rushed in any way since that ruins the flow so expect a detailed built-up, character development, etc over time that amounts to a fantastically mind-bending experience! 3. Mc is as the name suggests a psychopath so obviously there will be plenty of cruel things done by him. 4. Gore, and suggestive content warning. 5. Mc will steal other people's women, but won't get anyone stolen from him. 6. Keep in mind this is supposed to be realistic dark fiction, so Mc won't go from weak to strong in a matter of seconds. 7. Past chapter 10 the story will involve multiple character Pov from time to time to show things from a different angle and how the events of the story are affecting them. "He's in a meeting…" With an eye at the end of a sniper scope, I spied on the target from the top of an isolated building.
Surrounded by businessmen, the gent had the galls to hide a girl under his desk. Despite her head bobbing up and down, the target continued on with the meeting as if nothing was out of the ordinary.
"What about his demon?" Asked the gall to my left, her leather coat fluttering through the wind.
Heaving a sigh, I traced my gaze up her twilight skin. Dressed in torn jeans and a spiked leather jacket, she seemed more like an edgy teen than my companion demon in this deadly game of hide and seek.
"I can't see him, he must be staying invisible. Wanna look at him yourself?" Much like her, the other demon was masking its presence so no human other than his master could see him.
"I don't need to, I can smell that pig's greed from here," she replied, biting down on her fruity candy stick.
"Great, that means we have the right guy," looking through the scope again, I noticed the meeting room slowly being emptied, leaving but the target, the girl under the desk, and the invisible demon in that room. "Midas touch, huh? The only thing turning to gold after he's dead will be our pockets when Mikato pays us."
Adjusting my shoulder, and holding my breath, I got ready to pull the trigger, but then all of a sudden, Mizu nudged my arm with her heels slightly. Missing the shot entirely the shot rang in my ears like a cannon while the recoil made my whole body jerk backward.
"What the fuck Mizuki?!" Getting up on my feet, I tried to grab the bitch by her devil horns but my hands slipped through her body. "What the hell do you think you're doing?!"
After growling in rage at her, I picked the sniper from the ground to get a look at the target. With no surprise, the man was gone, and so was his demon as well as the girl underneath the table. What's worse were the police sirens going off in the distance as they slowly approached the sight of the gunshot.
"Just making things a little more exciting," with a crescent smile, she threw her arms around my shoulder and lunged on my back like a monkey. "Besides, I love the taste of fear, especially when it stems from your tortured heart."
Gulping heavily at the lingering fear, she let out a relieved sigh as if she'd just had dinner.
'The demon of broken heart…How the fuck did I end up being paired with this bitch?' It was a long story, but something most definitely worth telling.
"Mikato will be pissed that we missed our chance, but I have a date with Sakura and her mother so let's keep moving," licking my face like a fruit, Mizuki got off my shoulders so we could leave before the police arrives to the crime scene.
"About time we recorded you three together," ignoring her being a tease, I took a step forward and jumped down the building.
'This reminds me…' Closing my eyes as I fell, I let those bitter memories wash all over me again. 'A quick recall wouldn't hurt, would it?'
