Affinity

Old man: "Sooo... young one, what do you know about magic?"

Chron: "You need to recite some weirdass chain of words then, depending on ones affinity, elemental magic will be created."

O: "Pffff... ahahahhhaa. In my entire life I have never heard explanation such as this one."

C: "Hmmmm? So how should I describe it?"

O: "Words are used to help magicians create spells which require concentration and using words is the simplest way to reduce required concentration.

However in ancient times when Spirit's World wasn't so secluded from humans' world there existed other ways to cast magic.

For example if you make a contract with a spirit you are able to use chantless magic instantly.

But I know even better way. I can teach you how to use chantless magic without making a contract with a spirit.

What do you think about that? Do you want to try it?"

C: "Why are you even asking? Of course i want!"

O: "Then, what's your magic affinity?"

C: "I don't know. How even should I know?"

O: "Ah, right. I sometimes forget that you are only 5 years old.

Chron came closer to old man. Old man checked Chron's affinity and after checking he was confused.

O: "Chron. You have affinity to lightning magic.

But this is strange. Humans like you should have affinity to one of 6 basic elements as their first affinity."

C: "First affinity? 6 basic elements?"

O: "Usually humans can have more than one elemental affinity with the flow of their life.

As for 6 basic elements - fire, water, earth, wind, light and dark. It's very unlikey that you will find someone with their first affinity not being one of those 6.

You are exception on that matter. Lightning is affiliated to fire magic so with some training I suppose that you will be able to use both lightning and fire magic.

I suppose that we can only start training now, are you ready to learn spirits' magic?"
