Chapter 39: Imposters Among Us
With more mercenaries on the way and a formal investigation about to begin, there was really not much that anyone could do on the archaeological team. Instead, Professor Thelete took his assistant and documented everything as best that they could so that no additional damage could be incurred.
When it became clear that only one site was targeted and that it was the dig area that was least likely to be connected to Atlantis, the Professor and Jasmine felt relieved. While they were not out of the woods yet, clearly whomever was responsible had targeted nothing else.
“When do we expect the other mercenaries to arrive?” Professor Thelete asked, unsure if he should be glad that more of them were on their way or fearful since those responsible were clearly among their own people.
“I am not sure, but the soonest time period would be 12 hours from now.” One mercenary said.
“What do you want us to do, Professor?” Jasmine asked.
