Chapter 30: The Deviation
Somewhere near the Draco Constellation on a small red desert like planet, in a communications array station, a notification appears on the screen of one of the people working there. A young man wearing an all black military uniform notices the alert on the screen but he doesn't recognize the designated symbols associated with it.
He hesitates for a moment, trying to decide what to do. He doesn't want to be the target of his superior's ire. He has seen how other people have been treated for wasting Utu's time.
Utu is a no non-sense person who quickly moved up through the ranks to Communications Director because he gets results and because he takes extra steps to ensure the integrity of the mission. Eventually, however, the young man settles on getting his boss involved because he believes that the alert on his screen is of the utmost importance.
Kayvon: "Sir, we have detected an anomaly."
Utu: "What? Which galaxy?"
Kayvon: "The Milky Way, sir."
