Chapter 27: Report

With everyone safely at the dig site and with a good night's rest, the real work could finally begin. Over the next week or so, everyone spent their respective time looking for relics, studying the geology, collecting artifacts, taking radar, lidar, and satellite images and scans.

As time went on and they filled more data about the site in it became abundantly clear that many of the stone artifacts were Acheulean in nature. Acheulean artifacts are some of the oldest known tools not just of humanity but from other species such as homos Erectus.

Acheulean artifacts are also mainly oval shaped axes and spearheads and things of this nature. These Acheulean archaeological sites are located along wadis (valleys and river beds) that occupy outermost annular depression of this structure. Pre-Acheulean stone tools also have been found in the same areas.
