Hold The Ego

Growling sounds became commonplace Frey heard these days. His bright blue bead could see how an Alpha was mad at him. Even though they are both Alphas, there is still one of them who has to give in.

And the one who will do it is Frey, besides he can't possibly fight Alpha he also doesn't want to make civil war arise. Moreover, what caused it to happen was just a small matter that sounded childish.

"How long are you going to find it annoying!?" said Frey with a beaded gaze at the Alpha in front of him.

"Forever, she is dangerous. How come you don't feel that way!!"

The man couldn't believe what he had been thinking all along, but that was how he felt after Caroline's arrival. There was something different about Caroline and only he could feel it. But he does not know clearly what is dangerous about Caroline.

"Don't make it up!! Stop Jason, you always rely on your shallow ego. As an Alpha, I don't feel anything but a weak Omega!"

"Don't vent all your ego on her, this time I will forgive all your behavior but just don't make the woman suffer even more living here" Frey continued staring at Jason's bright red eyes.

It was annoying that he had to be dragged into this but that was her job, one that had to be second only to Jason. And Jason know how his best friend would act when he made a mistake. But he couldn't believe that his best friend would help Caroline.

Frey wasn't a man who would meddle in trivial matters like this unless he crossed the line. The thought of that made Jason let out a shaky breath and immediately sit quietly in his chair.

"Okay, I give up. Now you can go, I know the north is having problems" Jason replied glancing at Frey who was starting to show a worried expression behind her bright blue beads.

"Don't take your time away, I'm going to get Caroline out today so go"

Frey just listened to Jason's words before choosing to leave, leaving Jason who sighed again. Frey steps towards the infirmary but he sees the woman being saved walking with Jennifer. Frey wanted to come closer but he stopped herself when he saw that Luis was also there.

It turned out that he was thinking about unimportant things and Frey felt that he was interfering too much this time. He quickly chose not to care, leaving the place without even looking at the three people there. Unfortunately, Jennifer saw it before showing a lopsided smile.

'Looks like I got too excited this time'

"I'm fine Luis!" annoyed Caroline looked at Luis who immediately chuckled.

"But your body is still this cold, how can you call it fine!?"

Luis showed an annoyed face to Caroline who immediately snorted. The two of them were too focused on their interaction, ignoring Jennifer who was looking at the two with a thoughtful look. It seemed like she wouldn't be able to escape the invisible bond this time.

Even Jennifer felt sure that Caroline was the cause of the bond that emerged in her. Until Jennifer run to leave the two without saying goodbye. Jennifer had one thing she had to say to the northern noble Alpha.

"Frey.." Jennifer shouted making Frey turn to look at Jennifer who approached him.

"Are you leaving now?" Jennifer asked with a worried look on her face.

Sometimes Frey does not understand Jennifer's thoughts but Frey knows that Jennifer will not make it difficult for her. But somehow Frey felt that Jennifer wanted to say something different from her current concern.

"What do you want to say now!?" and Frey wasn't the kind of person who patiently waited for someone to make small talk first.

Jennifer chuckled a little at the pale red bead that was starting to show her attention "what if I told you you'd find your Mate?"

Frey's face immediately turned flat with a sharp look at Jennifer who didn't care. The Mate was the one word he hadn't wanted to hear all this time but Jennifer always crossed the line to bring it up. Frey immediately squeezed her hand tightly and turned around to leave Jennifer.

But it wouldn't be Jennifer if she just gave up without making Frey mad at her. She did not have a good relationship with Frey other than a working relationship. And Jennifer know that Frey hated the word Mate that she used to say a long time ago.

It wasn't for nothing that she often talked about the northern noble's Mate Alpha, but Jennifer never said anything other than a riddle that made Frey even more upset.

"But this time your Mate is so close, don't you feel it?"

Frey's steps stopped with her lips biting hard, he just stopped without looking at Jennifer who was mocking her.

"Don't say such disgusting things! You know what I mean, don't you!" Frey glanced at Jennifer for a moment before walking away leaving Jennifer who shrugged nonchalantly.

Most importantly she had said what he wanted to say, now it was up to the two couples to get to know each other. She was just an outsider and she shouldn't have interfered any further and Jennifer went straight to Luis and Caroline who turned out to be looking for her.

"Are you guys looking for me?"

Jennifer smiled at Caroline who looked sour "You think!!"

Laughter came from Jennifer before she nodded and told the two to follow her. Her bright green bead could see Luis who was so curious about her but Jennifer didn't care for now. Because she had something to do now.

The three of them walked towards the cell before facing Jeremy who glared at Caroline "what are you doing!!"

Caroline couldn't believe that the Beta man was instantly angry after seeing her. She is that stupid to take all the anger of a Beta for granted. Of course not, Caroline immediately approached staring intently at Beta in front of her who growled in annoyance.

"You know what to say to me like that! Just shut up and see!"

Caroline knows what she's saying, but if she wants to control this one Beta she has to do this. Moreover, only this Beta is aware of Alpha's presence in her body now. And she had to be careful with this Beta before it all fell apart.

"Enough!!" a voice made them all turn to look at the Alpha who was approaching them all.

Everyone immediately bowed except for Caroline who snorted in disgust at the presence of Alpha.

And the Alpha realized that even though he ended up ignoring Caroline's attitude for now "I free you"
