Forget The Past

Caroline couldn't believe what she had just heard, her body froze ignoring her stepbrother who was playing with her hair. It all seemed so unreasonable, even though she had come to apologize to his mother.

Now he became a rebellious child, even though his mother loved him very much. But she thought her mother was the same as her father, Caroline closed her eyes letting the tears roll down her cheeks.

And Caroline's brother kept kissing Caroline's face, Caroline didn't realize it. His thoughts weren't where they were now until his half-brother started wanting to kiss Caroline on the lips. Only a few more inches until the two lips touched until the sound of the door shattered by Luis.

Caroline in surprise rolled her eyes as she looked her stepbrother right in the face. Caroline immediately kicked the man making him fall face to face with Luis. Luis was angry to see his cousin almost being abused by his half-brother.

It's crazy and he's sick of this family now. He beats Caroline's half-brother, Luis doesn't care if the man dies. What he saw made him furious, and he broke his promise to Caroline's mother.

Before Mate Caroline exists he must be a shield for Caroline, that's what Caroline's mother said. And Luis agreed because he already loved Caroline like a brother. His right hand continued to hit non-stop creating drops of blood running down the man's face.

"Die you!!" Luis screamed until Caroline came over and hugged him.

"Stop!! You will kill him"

Even though her step-brother did bad things to her, Caroline couldn't let Luis kill her. Not because Caroline likes him but Caroline doesn't want Luis to kill people because of her. She's not Luis Mate and she doesn't deserve to be used as an excuse for Luis to do something bad like this.

"But Lin!! Aren't you disgusted to see such an asshole?"

If asked, is she disgusted or not? Then the answer is yes. But Caroline never expected all problems to be solved with violence. Caroline buried her face in Luis's chest, even more, ignoring her coughing stepbrother.

"I'm scared Luis, very scared but I'm more afraid if you turn out to be like them"

Caroline's bead closed trying to say what was on her mind right now. And Luis realized that if he was too late, Luis's gaze immediately turned softer and returned Caroline's huge "I'm sorry.. Lin, I should be able to keep my emotions in check"

Caroline nodded, staring at Luis's reddish brown bead that she had always liked. There's no bright red bead-like the other Alpha's, which is what makes Caroline comfortable with Luis.

The red bead has always scared him and Luis has always tried not to show red eyeballs in his human form. He just didn't want Caroline to be frightened by him.

"What about dad?" asked Caroline showing an angry face which made Luis laugh briefly.

"He passed out, and it looks like your stepbrother also fainted" Luis's answer made Caroline laugh too, whether she was satisfied with what happened to the two madmen.

But it seems that Caroline isn't satisfied with that, even so, she doesn't want to be selfish by making Luis the killer "are we going back today or tomorrow?" Luis asked looking at Caroline who was looking for something in her room.

"Let's go back now, I don't want to see them again"

Luis laughed at Caroline's answer, but he finally nodded and sat quietly on Caroline's bed first. The atmosphere in the room was still the same and Luis missed their childhood, those who always played together made Luis smile. Turns out time went by so fast.

He didn't expect Caroline to grow up to be a beautiful and smart girl, a cousin she thought was like a little sister she would take care of until her mate appeared. Only until then and he would be able to calmly leave Caroline later. Luis will focus more on his Mate later but he won't forget his friendship with Caroline.

"Let's go!" Caroline said looking at Luis who nodded in agreement.

The two of them came out of the house, staring furiously at the house that couldn't be called home anymore. It was like hell ready to make anyone miserable. But they also feel happy remembering their childhood that was so fun.

There may be pain there but there is a speck of happiness that enveloped the two of them back then. This time they will forget the pain and live well by remembering their happiness only. Maybe this will be a lesson for both of them to no longer hope for things that can never come true.

Caroline does not get the love of her father and Luis is only used as a tool for the family name. It made no sense and they immediately laughed at the thought of it. Luis's body continued to run with Caroline on his back.

Their steps away from home are the same as those who walk away from their bad past. They will step forward where there is only happiness waiting for them. It may be difficult to find that happiness but Caroline is ready to take the risk.

Time was ticking, dawn was coming and the two had just arrived at their place before leaving this afternoon. Luis had changed his form into a human again and he immediately looked at Caroline who looked sad. Was there anything Caroline was thinking right now, for some reason Luis became worried?

"What is it?" Luis asked looking at Caroline's bright blue beads.

"It's not just that I miss mother," said Caroline, she couldn't visit her mother's grave earlier because it was already very late.

If they were desperate to leave, they would come back in the morning and they would surely be caught if they run away. Until Caroline remembered that Sena saw her while leaving "wait!! Looks like we're going to get caught"

Like changing the conversation but Caroline didn't change the subject she just realized what was going to happen in there. And Luis exhaled roughly, he nodded at Caroline who was feeling guilty now.

"Wouldn't you have cared less about the risks this morning?"

Luis just wanted to mock Caroline but Caroline pouted and went straight into the little hole. Luis chuckled, following Caroline from behind. They walked hand in hand through every street that was still dark.

For some reason, Caroline felt that they were going to get a severe punishment now until a voice made them both freeze "where did you guys run out!!!"

It was the Alpha Berdine's voice and both of them just gave in to their awkward laughs.
