Chapter 34: Aftermath and Resolutions

I made it to the coliseum just in time to see the outcome of their battle. As soon as the barrier lifted, I burst through the entrance after throwing away my swords.
Before Maria and Olivia fell on the hard dirt ground, I slid beneath them. The dirt bit into my knees but I didn’t care, I caught them in time.
I used the rest of my power to heal them. Afterward, I looked down at both of them, to see if they’re alright. Olivia was unconscious and Maria wasn’t far behind.
But she was lucid enough to hear me. I look into her tired but still beautiful eyes.
“You did good, Maria.”
I felt her shudder at those words and ease further into my arms. She closed her eyes and drifted into a peaceful sleep.
Then I turned to Olivia. In more ways than one, she’s in a worse situation. I look at her damaged body. Bloody scars and purple bruises litter her body despite my best attempts to heal her.
