Cafeteria (2)

Following Raven, I was grateful for his help but couldn't shake off my suspicions. 'Being this friendly is common? Hmm, come to think of it, isn't it odd that I find being friendly normal, but at the same time, I find it suspicious and odd; it's like having two different personalities,' I ponder as Raven turned around to see me lost in thought.

"Hey! Adam!" shouted Raven, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Huh?" I was confused.

"What's with you? You are always lost and confused, plus, why do I always find you lost in thought?" asked Raven with a suspicious look.

"Haha," I said, giving an embarrassed laugh as I scratched the back of my head. "It's just my habit."

"What a weird habit," remarked Raven.

"Hey! I am here." I fought back.

"Okay, okay, we are just about to reach there," Raven said as he picked up the pace.

Adam followed him at full speed, barely catching up with him; however, soon the hallway got busier, making him lower his speed.

The room was filled with various races. Adam was shocked to see this: 'Amazing, hmm, there are a lot of humans, well, human-like. It seems a few of the group were moving upward, while the rest of them were moving downstairs.

"This way," Raven said knowing that I would be confused "The upper path is a high-rank cafeteria also known as the upper hall, as for the lower-rank cafeteria is downstairs I guessed you didn't know it"

"Ah! Thanks," I said with gratitude. 'I could have guessed it myself.' I snorted internally.

After a short walk, we entered the cafeteria, and the aroma hit my nose. "Oh my god," I said as my mouth started to water. I swallowed, unable to control my stomach, and produced a noise stimulated due to the smell.

"Someone is very hungry," said Raven with a laugh as he added, "Remember, I am not paying for it,

"Cheap!" I remarked to him.

"Hey! Why don't you pay mine and show you are not cheap like me?" Raven replied to my comment.

"Ahh, leave it; let's go grab something. I am dying from hunger," Adam replied as he turned around to observe the cafeteria. Surprisingly, he found that like a racetrack place. He felt he was quite similar to this type of place, yet it was different from it, but how? He couldn't point that out. This place was huge and noisy. There were quite a lot of round tables; many had joined them together and formed a huge group, and on the right side of Adam, there were a lot of stalls.

Adam pointed at the stalls to ask about them.

"Oh! Yes, let's go to the food stall first, then let's search for a seat," Raven said as he also answered my question unknowingly.

I followed behind him as he asked, "What do you want to eat?"

"Just buy what you are buying," I replied, as my blank memory didn't help me.

"Huh?" Raven looked a bit confused.

Before he could ask any questions, he said, "Just buy the damn food; I am hungry." losing my patience due to my increasing desire to eat.

"Okay, then it's meat and rice for today," Raven said as he rushed to buy "But you pay me back for your meal." He didn't forget to add this.

"Yes, yes," I replied.

Waiting for Raven, I noticed Noir, a demi-race boy of an inferior race like me. He was sitting alone, as he seemed to be suffering the same thing as me. Well, thanks to the professor, instead of making him famous, he made him the potential bully target, which caused others to stay away from him just like me. I at least have Raven. Feeling pity, I thought I should go talk to him, but suddenly another thought arrived: why? Isn't it better to stay away and hide from a possible bully, unable to make decisions, I took a deep breath, massaging my forehead.

"Adam!" Before I could make a decision, Raven returned with two trays filled with food. couldn't help but salivate.

"What the hell! You were supposed to find a seat and be sitting on it while saving mine." Raven looked angry.

"Oh! Sorry Ah! But who said I didn't find one?" I said as I pointed towards Noir, 'You know what, Forget it! I am different from others and better.'

"Ah! There seem to be empty seats, but will he share?" Raven asked.

"Of course, he will; after all, he is my classmate. Come, let's go!" Adam said as he rushed to the table.

Seeing Adam coming at him caused Noir to tense up. "What do you want?" Noir asked with hesitation.

"Well, can I and my friend sit here, and aren't we class fellows? Right, let's be friends," I said with a smile.

Asking him to be a friend shocked him. "Friend, but don't you know do that...?"

I cut him off. "Hey, I am in the same box as you, so no worries."

"Box?" Raven said as he arrived at my back.

I sighed. 'Well, I should tell him what happened today' "Come sit. I will explain to you while eating."

"Okay! Here, take your tray!" Raven said as he handed the tray to me, "Wow, it's heavy." surprised and filled with joy, knowing that there would be plenty of food.

"Yes, yes, it is, and thanks to some, I carried them while running and made sure they didn't drop," Raven replied as he taunted me.

"Haha! Anyway, Raven meets Noir, my classmate and new friend, and Noir, this is Raven, my friend from A6." I introduced both of them to each other. "Greeting Noir, I am Raven Vanya, a hybrid, a low-ranked." Raven introduced himself to Noir and surprised me, 'A low-ranked!'

"Ah! I am Noir Panthera, a demi-beast, an inferior rank. Nice to meet you," Noir introduced himself.

"Oh, should I introduce myself too?" I asked jokingly.

"What? No one wants to listen to your sorry introduction," replied Raven with a laugh.

"Hey! Noir, tell me he is wrong!" I asked Noir, but sadly, "I am sorry, but Raven is right," Noir said as he betrayed me.

"This is unfair. I became your friend before him; you should side with me!" I rebuked.

"Haha, stop crying, and let's eat. Food is getting cold," Raven said.

"Oh oh! You are right, Noir, join us." I asked Noir to join us to eat together.

"No, no, I am fine. I had my fill; you eat, and I will complete my drink." Noir replied that there seemed to be a little hesitation in him.

"Well, it's your loss; time to dig in," as I uncovered the tray, but how? Well, I copied Raven.
