The Awakening

Author's note: This is still volume 1 but just an entirely different perspective. Hope you enjoy.

Several months ago, around the same time Licht was waking up on the Gregorian Continent, someone else was also regaining consciousness.

A blonde beauty slept in a coffin. Her skin was pale, looking like she was dead. Everywhere was dark but also very spacious. The blond beauty's fingers twitched, followed by her eyelids and after a few seconds, she opened her eyes.

If she wasn't in the dark, a person would see the color of her eyes were red like blood. She slowly sat up and stretched and as she yawned, potruding fangs became visible. This was the a very obvious trait of the race called Vampires. She sat in the coffin for a few minutes after stretching, trying to make sense of everything.

"It has been a while. That was a really long nap. Pesky old guy, you're in for a hell of a surprise" As she spoke, her voice was melodious, but all semblance of poise and elegance that would be expected of someone so beautiful was lost when she spoke, she spoke like a common thug, as she flailed her arms and made a face that portrayed her annoyance.

Before she could get out the coffin, the door was opened and several people, old and young ran into the hall. On the faces of some, there was joy and respect while others had looks of annoyance, anger and even jealousy.

The ones with happy looks on their faces knelt down and said "Greetings, her royal majesty Tenebrea" while the rest just showed a sneer on their faces and spoke to themselves.

"When I saw the light, I thought a great treasure trove opened up within our palace, I did not know that it was our so called ancestor that had just awoken"

"Yeah, she looks so weak. Why do we still show her respect?? Its been five thousand years already. Most of the old timers are all dead or dying ,and they still want us to give her respect."

The blond woman, Tenebrea looked at everyone and smiled "So I have been asleep for five millennia? All of my retainers are either dead or dying? Well since most of you are not trust worthy, I might as well use some of my remaining power to clean house" She had a devilish smile as she got out of the coffin. The air felt stifled for the disloyal people as she took a deep breath.

The people that did not kneel before her started to age as they fell down one by one. They looked at her in fear as she spoke

"Let me teach you guys a history lesson. Yes, I am the first vampire but what was not put in the books is that I am also the most ruthless. I am an embodiment of chaos. You are just centuries and millennia of my diluted blood. Keep that in mind while you suffer in the afterlife."

Everyone in the "loyal" faction watched as the people died. Their bodies were shrivelled up, looking like hundred year old mummies. After the whole debacle, her aura started to drop. It fell from the peak down to gold and continued dropping, Tenebrea sat in a lotus meditative position as she tried to stop the leaking energy but it was futile. She yelled in frustration and finally, the decrease in rank stopped at the peak blue rank. She got up from her sitting position with a little bit of pride.

'Though I could not stop it completely, I managed to retain a cultivation base.' She looked at the people kneeling and ordered them to get up.

"Go fix up a bath for me. It's been centuries since I had one" She laughed as she walked in the direction of her room. The other vampires ran out and started fixing up the castle, some went to prepare food, while others went to fix up the bath.

She went into the bathroom and laid in the scalding hot water as she got lost in her thoughts.

'My power orbs are lost all over the continent but it would be fun to find them and leave destruction in my wake but that old man was stronger than I expected. Why did I feel drawn to that white-haired handsome piece of cake??Ugghhh if only I could see him again, I'd make him mine but I don't know if he has also awoken because I can feel the old man is still sleeping and it'd take a couple of years before he wakes up' and then she spoke up "But first, I have to understand the nature of the continent now"

As she walked into her room after her long bath, she felt two presences outside her door.

"You can enter" She said as she sat down in her bathrobe.

A very old man and woman walked in. Seeing it was Tenebrea, they bowed

"Our queen , we have been waiting for you to awaken and now you are here, it feels like a dream"

"Vladimir, Anastasia. I see even my two most loyal retainers could not avoid the woes of time" She said with a saddened expression.

"We would have died a long time ago, but we chose to hibernate till you woke up. We hoped it will just be a millennia but we were wrong. Infact if you had spent another half a decade in there, we would have perished." Vladimir said to Tenebrea.

"So why did you guys hibernate with me? You could have spent your life having fun or even ruling the kingdom" Tenebrea inquired

"Well before we went into hibernation, we told our descendants to train the strongest vampires in the generation to be your guards. Centuries later, an elite vampire squadron was formed, they were called the Crimsons. They will be your legion and they will move under your banner for conquest." Anastasia said with reverence.

"Wow. I love the dedication. Tell them to assemble in the throne room. I am on my way."

"As you wish, your highness" Vlad and Ana bowed and then left the room.

"This is going to be very interesting"
