Rank up

The aura kept on rising higher and higher till it was all absorbed into his body and then the aura around his body changed from blue to green and then the green aura became thicker by two folds, meaning he had reached intermediate green rank.

He sat still for a couple of minutes till he opened his eyes abruptly. Everyone except Midas jumped back in fear that Licht might actually silence them.

Midas walked forward and bowed to Licht in reverence and excitement "Master, congratulations on making a successful breakthrough."

Licht smiled slightly and nodded. He used wind ether energy to make him levitate till he was standing, then he started walking towards the exit. He casually stared at Lillian and her clan members and smiled then continued walking towards the exit.

"Esteemed sir" Lillian called out

Laine, captain Ville, and the other clan members were sweating buckets at this point. They thought they were safe but their young mistress just had to call this man back.

Licht stopped and then turned around with a questioning look.

"The Chrysler clan would be honored to have you and your disciple as our guests. This is just our way of saying thank you for practically saving my life and for the pile of loot you graciously left behind for us." Lilian said

"None of that is necessary. Everything was done out of convenience" Licht replied as he turned around to continue walking.

"Sir, It looks like you and your disciple are travelers. Our clan has maps and information about these parts and outside" Lillian looked hopefully

Licht stopped, waited for a few breaths of time, and then looked toward Midas with a face of inquiry.

"Master, I think we should go to the clan. No one there can threaten you and they know it. We would also be able to find the next place we should head to." Midas said

"Alright then. Since we actually need the maps, we would follow you to your clan" Licht sighed then accepted.

Lillian was pleased that Licht accepted. "Let's go then, Sir Licht," She said.

They all headed out of the cave while the other guards gathered the treasures that gave to Lillian into their carriages.

Licht walked towards the horses and wood sprouted from the earth and created a plain wood carriage. It looked exactly like the one he came here with, everyone looked at Licht with awe wondering how he could use so many ether elements and still fight with such strength.

Lillian was the first to awaken and spurred everyone on to finish packing the weapons and books into an empty carriage so they could be on their way.

After about thirty minutes, they were done and started moving, Midas sat on the carriage as usual and checked the soul of the behemoth. Due to the strength of the soul being in the peak blue rank, Midas was unable to use it as it would rage and probably devour him whole and it was taxing on his soul having such a strong soul within him. He chose to use the behemoth's soul to evolve the others.

He split the soul into seven and used it on all of the previous peak-brown ranked beasts. He felt his soul strengthen and went from intermediate yellow rank to peak yellow rank in a matter of minutes. The people watching Midas were baffled and said in their minds "Master and Disciple are both Freaks."

Licht just smiled as he figured out what Midas did and felt proud that his disciple was wise enough to prioritize what was needed for the moment. Midas on the other hand was looking at the evolved versions of the soul beasts within his soul. The quilled jaguar no longer looked like it had quills, its body looked smaller and sleeker than before, it now looked ethereal, obviously, it was ethereal since it was a soul but now it had a dark-like smoky aura oozing out of it. It was now a phantom jaguar, suited for sneak attacks and assassinations, the sword-toothed wolf was now bigger than it was before close to 2 meters, but it was now thinner instead of bulkier, it became a wind-walking phantom wolf, the earth bear's body got a bit bigger and the muscles seems more streamlined, clearly they had been compressed for more explosive power, becoming a bulky slasher bear. The frost python was the one with the biggest change as its height was now about 7 meters and the poison became more potent. It was still a frost python but now it was in its adult form.

The shadow hawk evolved to become a dark condor capable of blending into darkness for scouting and attacking with metal-like claw. The spider had the most peculiar change as it became a humanoid. It was the Arachne while the two-tailed scorpion looked exactly the same except the tails looked longer, bulkier and sharper, it was now Scorpio.

Midas was very pleased with the outcome of this and decided to ask his master for some advice if he was on the right path. Midas got into his carriage and saw his master was in his usual lotus sitting position. He sat down in the same position while waiting for his master to be done.

Licht opened his eyes and looked toward Midas "What is the problem, Midas"

"Master, what do you think is better, having stronger summons but less in number or having weaker summons but they are more in number?" Midas asked

"What path do you want to take? I cannot choose for you know everyone has a path of their own. A human being can kill thousands of ants with the right tools but at the same time thousands of ants can strike down a human if they attack with the right strategy. It all depends on who you want to be" Licht said

Midas sat in silence and pondered, he seemed to be struggling with the thought in his head. If Licht could see what Midas was thinking about, he might have done a spit-take. In Midas's head, there were two ideas, one was him clad in green armor holding a sword mounted on a soul manticore, with thousands even millions of soldiers behind him while the other fantasy, he had seven beings standing behind him all clad in different armors but they all resembled demon generals. He kept thinking and wondering which of the two looked cooler and then he combined both fantasies and came to a conclusion, that his soldiers would need generals so he'd do both.

He looked towards Licht and told him what he thought and hoped to achieve. Licht asked Midas why he chose seven generals but Midas replied it just felt right.
