Belzoheim at last

They continued onwards till they got to where the elves were.

"Stop. No humans shall pass beyond this point" An elven guard said. He was chocolate skinned and had purple eyes. He had silver hair and was almost two meters. He aimed a bow loaded with two arrows at Licht and Midas. Daren was not in view because he was currently hiding in the shadow of the elf aiming his bow at his masters. He was ready to strike when given the order.

Midas smiled knowing how well Daren had matured and improved. Midas raised his hands and said "We are not here to harm anyone or do anything vile. We are here for some sightseeing and maybe getting a weapon from the famed blacksmiths of Belzoheim."

The elves looked at each other then the elf aiming his bow signaled at another elf who retreated. After two minutes the elf returned and whispered to the other elf and he nodded. He brought his bow down and said "Okay, you are both allowed access into Belzoheim but do not cause trouble because we'd be watching"

Midas and Licht just nodded and then continued onward. As they passed the elves, a shadow moved into that of Midas but it was so quick that the elves did not notice. They kept watching the humans till they were out of sight.

"Don't worry captain. I already told the guards at the gate to put someone on their tails so we would know if they try anything" The elf that left previously said.

Midas and Licht kept walking forward till they saw the large wall of Belzoheim. The wall spanned for several kilometers and the height was at least a hundred meters. They reached the magnificent gate of the elven kingdom. It was like something extracted from a sci-fi movie. The gate looked like it was made from Oak but had vein-like circuits running through. Licht still wondered how his fragments boosted intelligence but he pushed it to the back of his mind till he got his fragment back.

As they got to the gate, it was opened almost immediately for them. They walked through and continued inwards into the city. The kingdom gave off a dystopian sci-fi vibe that was more attuned to nature. There were high-rise buildings and carriages that used man to move without horses, They came in different shapes and sizes, some even levitated above the ground. All of these were new things to the trio and it showed.

They walked till they found an inn and Licht chose to book rooms because it was unknown how long they would spend in Belzoheim.

"Greetings and welcome to my--" The elf that was the owner of the inn stopped when he saw two human men come into his inn. "humble establishment"

Licht and Midas clearly noticed the change in tone of the elf but they did not mind as it was to be expected. "We would like two of your best rooms please," Midas said.

"Oh I am sorry. We are fully booked and only have one room available. Are you willing to take it, sirs?" The owner of the inn spoke with a smile on his face but it was clear the smile was not sincere.

Licht's senses were spread out and he could tell there were several rooms available but he did not have the energy to squabble with the inn owner and cause a scene. He was not afraid of causing a scene, just that it would make things harder.

Licht nodded and said "Take us to the room"

The inn owner went forth and took them to the room. The room was less than mediocre with chipped walls, moldy ceilings, worn-out beds. When Midas saw such a sight, he was incensed and released his aura. The inn owner who was barely at yellow rank nearly wet his pants at such an aura. Licht tapped Midas's shoulder indicating that it was alright. Midas retracted his aura and harrumphed at the inn owner while a threw a couple of gold coins at him. The both of them walked in with Daren still in the shadow of Midas.

The inn owner let a sigh of relief as they entered and swiftly ran back downstairs, grateful that today was not his day to meet his maker. The person that was also tailing Midas and the others had left after he felt the aura because Midas also purposely released the aura onto him to intimidate him.

Licht sat on a worn-out bed and took his meditation pose while Daren came out of the shadow and said "Master, Sir Licht, forgive me for being insolent but I do not understand why you let this injustice happen when you could level a quarter of the city without making too much of an effort."

Licht opened his eyes as he stared at Daren "Sometimes, power does not always mean you are right. Sure, power reigns supreme but it still does not make such things right. And also that's still going to be exhausting."

Daren was left contemplating at what Licht said and then nodded as he was enlightened. They all entered a meditation state to rest. Meanwhile, the elf that was trailing them had returned back to his higher-ups to give a report on what happened with Midas. His higher-ups pondered but told him to continue tailing the humans and were left wondering why such a powerful teen came to Belzoheim but currently there was nothing they could do but wait and watch. After a couple of hours, Licht got up and said "Let's take a quick walkabout and see the nightlife of the elven kingdom, Belzoheim"

Midas nodded and got up while Daren hopped into his shadow. They all left the inn as the inn owner stared at them with fear in his eyes. The elf continued to tail them because he was ordered to, he had no choice.

Licht and Midas walked around the kingdom and they were clearly impressed. They also found out information about the kingdom as they sent Daren to scout.
