Pretending To Be God

George Sterling, once a successful lawyer turned actor, then turned magician, finds himself in dire straits as the rise of Artificial Intelligence takes away all his livelihoods. As he nears the end of his life, a family heirloom, a mysterious ring passed down from his father, transports him to an unfamiliar world seemingly distant from reality. Upon awakening, George discovers a newfound opportunity that awaits him. Initially tasked with portraying the Wizard of Oz to survive, he delves into this new role. However, as he embraces his new identity, an even greater challenge lies ahead: he must venture into the realm of pretending to be a god. This book uses characters and elements from L. Frank Baum's original Oz series which has entered the public domain and allows me to use them in my original book as long as I do not use the characters and elements from the adaptations that haven't entered the public domain.

High Court Third Round

"Ah…" George lay on his bed as he dropped the bottle of the health potion on the floor.

That was the last of the health potion that he had, and despite only using as little as he could, the amount of times he fought, forced him to use it much more frequently nulling his attempts of trying to save the health potion till the end of the year.

He took out the only gold coin that he had in his pocket before getting up from his bed and walking out of the room, it didn't feel good to spend a gold coin which would be worth a good house on a bottle of health potion.

He knew that the probably life-saving health potion was worth even more than that, but spending that much at once feels wrong inside.

As he neared the academy pharmacy, Devlin, who he was going to meet soon to discuss the script tomorrow, was talking with someone he didn't recognize, and matter of fact, he never saw the person in the Academy before.
