Pretending To Be God

George Sterling, once a successful lawyer turned actor, then turned magician, finds himself in dire straits as the rise of Artificial Intelligence takes away all his livelihoods. As he nears the end of his life, a family heirloom, a mysterious ring passed down from his father, transports him to an unfamiliar world seemingly distant from reality. Upon awakening, George discovers a newfound opportunity that awaits him. Initially tasked with portraying the Wizard of Oz to survive, he delves into this new role. However, as he embraces his new identity, an even greater challenge lies ahead: he must venture into the realm of pretending to be a god. This book uses characters and elements from L. Frank Baum's original Oz series which has entered the public domain and allows me to use them in my original book as long as I do not use the characters and elements from the adaptations that haven't entered the public domain.

George Sterlinguard V Akshar

The punches got slower, and Peyton's breathing became heavier and louder. Anyone knew that if they got punched by one that slow, they would barely feel a thing, but he continued doing that.

"Come on… give up…" Peyton said; his words came out of his mouth weak; he didn't really have any more energy even to talk.

However, Akshar stood there, his hands still raised up like a statue and taking all of the punches without complaining.

'Not even a grunt?' The Instructor thought; as he got closer, he could see Akshar's eyes closed, bloodied, before pushing Peyton away, "Move! He's unconscious!"

Peyton dropped to the floor as he stared at Akshar, whose hands were still raised, "Unconscious?" He stood up slowly and stared closely and could see the barbarian's eyes closed; he had fainted mid-getting punched. "Holy…"

Suddenly his eyelids shook a bit before the barbarian opened his eyes, "Ahhhh!!!" He screamed before throwing a punch toward Peyton before the Instructor held him back.
