Chapter 63 : Confrontations

*Matthew's POV*

I stared blankly at Trinity.

Did she just ask what I think she did? I had misheard her right? Why the hell would I invite Anne? Was she really here?

Not like I gave a shit either way, but it was obviously an issue to Trinity, and I didnt appreciate that one bit.

I felt annoyance wash over me. Partly because of Anne, who didn't seem to get a clue no matter what I said to her. I wasn’t sure how she found out about the party, but the social circles were pretty tight, so it wouldn't have been hard for her to worm it out of someone that did get invited.

I felt my emotions spread to Trinity as well. I was busting my butt all week to comfort Trinity and make sure that she was given everything that she needed, and at the first opportunity she gets, she's questioning my loyalty?

She hadn’t once tried to comfort me or do something to help me out with the stress of this case, but now, somehow, I was the bad guy. That made absolutely no sense to me.
