Chapter 59 : Comfort

*Trinity's POV*

Michael cooed on my lap as we sat in the recliner in his nursery room reading a bedtime story. His little hand rested on mine as I flipped the pages.

My heart was full and I could feel my body relaxing. The rest of the day of trial had been uneventful, but it had still taken its toll on me, and once more, I couldn't wait to get home to my baby boy.

My eyes closed as we continued to rock back and forth after the book was done. I knew I should go to bed, but I wasn't ready to let him go yet. I don't know if I would ever be ready to let him go.

Michael's body relaxed, and I knew that he fell asleep, but yet, I still didn't want to leave him.

I opened my eyes and looked out the window to the darkness beyond.

There was a small, faint tap on the doorframe, and I looked to see Matthew standing there, smiling at the two of us. My lips curved in response, and he walked slowly into the room.
