Expulsion

Theo didn't know how to react to the envelope infront of him and the words the dean had just said .. even though he didn't like the school he didn't want to leave .. so the only thing he could do was to gulp and opened the envelope and see what's waiting for him .. he hesitated for a while before he eventually decided that he'd open it in class .. after school when no one would still be around ... plus he didn't want to feel little and disgusting infront of the dean who had already decided a disgusting future and if not .. maybe it was something worse that that.

'To come to think of it Mr Bernard and her always wanted me out of here ... ' he sighed with a bittersweet smile before he walked out of the office heading for his class .. when he opened the door the noise quietened down as he entered unexpectedly .. without a teacher they thought about having fun instead of sitting in the chairs ..

When they saw who it was they stopped and looked at him as he walked back to his seat .. and instead of talking to Madison he just laid low .. with his mind filled with negative thoughts .. and of course Leo was enjoying this as he grinned and laughed out loud "Oh .. did the lil boy boy ... get a beating" he spoke in a babyish way as the learners sat there quitely without laughing .. even though they didn't like him .. it wouldn't be fair if he had been expelled for something he did not start ...

"Shut up Leo"

one of the girls in the corner said with a stern look on her face and not just her .. but everyone else in the class was turning their heads to look at him with angry expressions ... as for his friends they didn't say anything and started fidgeting and pondering whether to look at him angrily or stand by his side ..

Leo sat down hastily when the gazes started to turn intense and the atmosphere turned cold .. he hid in his arms like a coward ..

Albeit Madison was dumbfounded by him .. although he was like this .. things never got to the point where he'd just go to his seat and say nothing to her .. so she knew something wasn't right .. she asked away "What happened in the dean's office ..?" Theo slapped her hand .. startling her and shocking her with his actions that were unexpected .. 'Whats wrong?' she thought carrying a worried expression ..

Theo held the envelope tightly in his arms as he finished reading it .. he didn't gasp or cry .. he just let his emotions take over and crushed the pencil in his hand in half .. and when Madison saw this she was really worried .. it's not everytime she sees him like this .. infact this is her first time encountering such a situation with him being the cause of it ..

'I wanted to stay longer .. ' he thought as he tightened his fist .. immediately making the pencils pointy end stab him in his palms causing little blood to flow on the table .. "Theo .." she began to tear up ..

And just as she was about to ask him .. the dean walked in with a solemn face that carried arrogance and a face filled with bright joy .. "Learners today I'm here to inform you about what I've decided to do with your fellow classmate .. and please let it be a reminder to you all .." they started to look in Theo's direction .. "I have expelled him from this school .. so from tomorrow you won't be seeing Mr Thompson no more .. as for you Leo Lawrence .. you will be making your way to the community hall centre to help with the elderly and this is for the whole year .. I will get reports of what you're accomplishing everyday by the man who's going to help you with the elderly "

Madison looked at Mrs Thorne before speaking out her heart for others to hear "This is not fair .. he's the one that started it .. Theo just didn't want me to get hurt .. why are you giving him light punishment and giving Theo a harsh one ...?" the learners could agree more as they looked at the dean with the looks of toddlers who want answers on who stole their lollypops .. "Because Mr Thompson has been playing with the teachers and me .. and I couldn't just let that matter go unsolved ... plus he talked back to me .. he didn't just break rules you see .. he even disrespected me .. the dean"

"And you just kept an eye on him only and not Leo who has been bullying other kids around the school ...? .. I don't understand your reasons but this is unfair ma'am .." she teared up holding onto Theo's hooded jersey ..

Without answering she left and headed towards her office .. when she was out of sight ... the kids turned their heads and frowned at Leo who was regretting everything that he had done .
