Chapter-14: Naruto wakes up!

(Naruto POV)

I have lazed around a lot during all this time and it's finally the time I can go out. I was enjoying this little isolation as Voice-kun was there with me, telling me stories about a lot of things, entertaining me.

Not all good things last forever and hence I went outside now.

When I woke up, I was in a room inside a hospital.

"I just woke up today...What happened?" I asked as I rubbed my head.

It was extremely weird to even move my body as I didn't move for so long after all.

After getting used to the movement, I stood up and stretched my body a little. I went outside the room to discover 2 ninjas standing outside.

"Hey! what are you doing outside here?" I asked.

"Looks like you finally woke up. Please wait here. I will call Hokage-sama." one of them said as he ran away.

"Looks like I need to wait for a bit, eh?" I said as I went inside my room and waited.

After a while, 3rd Hokage came inside, saw me and eyed me for a bit.

He then asked, "Are you okay, Naruto?"

"Does it look like I am okay? I am starving! How long have I been out for?" I asked him.

"It's been a week since you stole the scroll of seals." He said as he deadpanned.

"Hey I was told it was an exam! No one told me that I wasn't supposed to steal it. Also, it was quite easy to steal it, you better hide it more carefully from now on." I said.

It was a trick Voice-kun taught me.

To act as if I did nothing wrong and not admit my fault, I would have an easy escape on everything.

3rd just sighed and said, "Well, don't try to do that again. That scroll contains forbidden techniques which were sealed by lord 1st. Which technique did you learn?" He asked me again with a grandfatherly smile.

If it was previous me, I'd be completely fooled by it...

I told him the truth regardless.

"I learned Multi Shadow clone jutsu! Do you wanna see it?" I asked.

It was the truth. That's the only thing Voice-kun taught me in this duration.

I quickly used the shadow clone jutsu.

"Multi Shadow clone jutsu!"

Around 30 or 40 Clones popped out.

"...Ho? Let's not make you starve anymore though. Here is the monthly compensation. Go and have some food for yourself. As soon as you are ready, head to academy. Your team is waiting for you. You are a Konoha shinobi now. Congratulations." He said with a smile as he went away.

Well, It's time for Ichiraku Ramen, I guess.

Only that store gives me fair prices.

'Go and try to buy some vegetables. Or steal them. I will make food for you. It's my fault you are starving right now, let me fix it with a hearty meal. I think some stew ought to do.' Voice-kun said from the inside.

'Yaay! That's even better! I will go home and check right away!' I responded as I moved towards my home to check for ingredients.

(Hiruzen POV)

Naruto is behaving a little strangely these days however I couldn't detect him lying.

There were no chakra flunctuations inside him that means he isn't lying at all.

I took a deep breath and went inside the Hokage office.

Naruto has created a lot of trouble for me this time. Not only did he steal the scrolls, he also went ahead and somehow evaded my favorite jutsu, crystal ball jutsu.

It works on everyone however couldn't use it on him after he opened the scroll of seals.

Was it Kyuubi's fault or did Tobirama-sensei or Hashirama-sensei did something so that scroll couldn't be peeked on?

I don't know.

But I couldn't see him after he opened the scroll, no matter what.

I tried to check on him through Iruka's chakra but it didn't work as Iruka was injured and was left behind.

I didn't have Mizuki's chakra so I failed as well.

Normally I would've called T&I department or Yamanaka clan to deal with this but this situation involves Naruto.

He is son of two greatest heroes of Konoha as well as Jinchuriki of the Kyuubi.

If the fact that son of heroes is being treated like this or if somehow he snaps due to Kyuubi, It will be probably cause a lot of destruction for Konoha...

I cannot allow anyone else in this situation.

At all.

That's why I went there myself to check if he is lying or not.

I am getting too old for this job...haah...

I was just a retired old man who wanted to enjoy his rest of the life with his grandchildren, Why is there no Hokage candidates inside the village and why was all the responsibility thrown on me?

I am too old for this sh*t.

I hate this job.

(3rd POV)

After Naruto went to home after trying to buy a few ingredients for the stew and also some shop lifting, Kazuya took the control and cooked the stew for him.

Our MC cooked some beef stew with some vegetables to not ruin the diet and some cold milk.

A perfect meal for a growing ninja.

Naruto quickly ate everything and headed to the academy.

When Naruto arrived, Iruka immediately tested him for the clone jutsu, which he passed in a jiffy.

Iruka then congratulated him and gave him a headband and also offered him to have get Ichiraku Ramen however Naruto refused.

"Maybe some other time. I ate some food just now and I need to do some cool ninja stuff. So where is my team?" Naruto asked impatiently.

"They will be arriving in a few minutes. Sit down in the old classroom now and wait for them. Your sensei will arrive afterwards." Iruka said.

"Okay! By the way, who are in my team?" Naruto asked.

"You will see when they come." Iruka said with a mischievous smile.

"Then I am going, I guess?" Naruto said as he ran into his classroom and sat down.

It was time to wait for his team.
