Xavier rose from the ground and directed his attention toward the approaching figure. He inquired, "Who are you, and why did you introduce sleep-inducing drugs into our food?"
Upon hearing this, Rami chuckled and retorted, "You don't need to know. Besides, you're destined to die today."
Recognizing that extracting information verbally was futile, Xavier acted swiftly to preempt Rami's actions. Utilizing the Stellar Momentum aspect of his Gravity skill, he exerted gravitational forces on both sides, effectively pulling Rami in opposite directions.
As a result, Rami found himself suspended in mid-air, seemingly caught in an invisible vice grip by his outstretched arms.
"Hey, you rat!! What have you done to me? What kind of skill is this?" Rami's voice echoed with a mixture of shock and fury.
Observing Rami's resistance, Xavier opted to intensify the gravitational pull. He watched his mental energy dwindled, and with the increasing force of gravity, Rami let out a piercing cry of agony. Ultimately, the force became too much to bear, causing Rami's body to be gruesomely torn into two distinct halves.
Xavier's body trembled as he uttered, "Damn, I've killed someone." Suddenly, he snapped out of his daze, realizing, "No, I have to escape this place."
With a sense of urgency, he hastened toward the hostel. After a few minutes, a group of individuals arrived at the scene. Among them was Neil Jefferson, who surveyed the area and grimly took in the sight of Rami's torn-apart body.
Under his breath, Neil mumbled, "Someone was here! But who? Could it be the rebels?" . He then proceeded, "Who could have the capability to mutilate Rami's body in such a manner? I need to promptly inform Madam Jessica about this matter"
Neil straightened himself and cast his gaze upon the remaining individuals, directing them to conduct a thorough search. These individuals were zombie soldiers, following Neil's orders without question.
Meanwhile, Xavier finally reached his room, shutting the door behind him. His heart raced as he wrestled with his emotions, taking deep and steadying breaths to calm himself.
Numerous questions flooded Xavier's mind:
- What had the young boy witnessed?
- What kind of trap was he talking about?
- Why had they introduced sleep-inducing drugs into the food?
- Had anyone witnessed him killing Rami? If so, would he manage to escape without repercussions?
As these thoughts swirled within him, Xavier remembered that his mental energy had dwindled to a mere 8 out of 104. Realizing the necessity to replenish it, he resolved to engage in meditation.
The night seemed interminable; Xavier remained vigilant throughout its entirety. Despite his attempts at meditation, he struggled to maintain focus and frequently broke from his meditative state.
Considering the option of sleeping instead, he soon recognized that it was not feasible. Consequently, he spent the entire night awake, grappling with his thoughts and anxieties.
A soft "Ding..." from his phone alerted Xavier, and upon glancing up, he discovered a message indicating that there would be no classes for the entire week.
Considering the recent events, Xavier understood that this announcement was likely a response to the incident from the previous night. Lost in his contemplations, a sudden knock on his door abruptly jolted him from his thoughts.
Instantly on guard, Xavier assessed his mental strength, which had only recovered to 33 out of 104. A sense of unease settled over him as he speculated that the knock might signify an approach from those involved. Concerned about his lack of mental energy, he pondered potential strategies for escaping his predicament.
A voice from outside the door broke through Xavier's apprehension, saying, "Xavier, it's me, Alex." Upon hearing that it was Alex, Xavier's tension dissipated, and he approached the door to open it.
