Fletchling(F)

level: 22

Type: Normal/Flying

Height: 1' 4"

Ability: Big Pecks.

Characteristic: Modest

Potential: Blue(Low Grade)

Moves: Ember, Peck, Quick attack, Roost, Tailwind(semi).

Egg Moves: Flame Charge.

Description: This amiable Pokémon is easy to train. Despite its peaceful disposition, it is relentless in battle and very territorial, attacking perceived threats mercilessly.

------------------------

She has great talent and is already past the evolution level which explains the abnormal size when compared with other fletchlings. For some pokemon, it's good to wait till the growth rate stops and then evolve like the fletchling line.

Any Pokemon that transforms into a completely different Pokemon after evolution needs to be evolved as fast as possible, Sandile turns bipedal and the way it fights changes so it's better to evolve while Fletchling's fighting style remains the same till it's final evolution.

Fletchlings are normally friendly and are never violent but the description of the system confirms that Sandile did something which angered the bird Pokemon.

"Sandile, care to explain what happened? Don't try to lie as I will confirm the story with Fletchling," I asked.

[Bro don't you trust me? For literally no reason, it started attacking me.]

"Fine, I will confirm it with fletchling and your dinner is cancelled if I know that you lied," I said baiting him to confess.

Sandile panicked at the mention of Dinner cancellation.

[Fine, I went to search for good fire types so I started going towards the direction which emitted more heat than the other surroundings, I soon found a huge number of those fletchling species. They all had their trees that yielded juicy berries and five to ten guarded each tree but there was this one tree where only one Pokemon guarded it...]

"Confess!!!!! don't drag the story," I said in irritation. Sandile was trying to stretch this story.

[So, I used aqua tail on the tree to make the berries fall, I gobbled them all up and that's when fletching started chasing me. I thought it would be an easy escape but turned out to be a long chase.]

I soft punched him on the head which made him growl, "I asked you to come back and inform me if you find a big group of pokemon. Anyways this time it was just a single Pokemon that you provoked and it turned out good." I said to him.

[Bro, no matter what I do, it is for you. This was all part of my plan, I knew the moment I saw that female fletchling. It was her fate to meet me...ahhuuu I mean meet you.]

"Ok stop your nonsense, let's start our hunt in ten minutes. You go scouting just in case if someone might notice all the commotion here."

After Sandile went to scout, I called fletchling out. I set the telepathic connection before she wakes up and then used some potion to revive her.

Fletchling twitched for a second before she slowly woke up, she noticed me and Electrike gazing intently at her which resulted in more panic.

[Don't panic, it's alright. Firstly, I want to apologise for what my Sandile did and in compensation, you can take these Oran berries.] I took out the berries and placed them on the ground.

The fletchling was surprised that I can talk telepathically. I explained to her about my powers which made her relax, she gazed at me intently as I instructed her on how to use telepathy. She started trying it and boom connection was made

[Can you hear me??? I am sorry that I got angry. Although that poor Ground-type stole my fruits, I shouldn't have reacted impulsively. I was bored for a week as no one came to challenge me, I had to let out some steam to prepare for evolution but I guess I lost huh?] she said in a girly tone that resembled a teenager than a kid.

"Yes, you lost the previous fight and I caught you which means I will be your trainer from now on." I declared to her in a gentle tone. Fletchling looked utterly confused so I asked Electrike to explain the whole pokemon trainer thing to her, I also let her know our current situation.

After a fifteen-minute long explanation, fletchling nodded in understanding. Surprisingly, she looked forward to becoming strong and roam the world, she said she was very uninterested on this island and was planning to leave after evolving.

Later Electrike and Fletchling became very close, maybe because they are both females. Poor Sandile was left out from their conversations, we already started hunting for high potential Pokemon to sell.

As the day was passing, I was planning on Fletchling's future path. Normally in competitive matches on Earth, Talonflame is used with a jolly or adamant nature but in reality that won't work.

Talonflame has nearly the same stats in attack and special attack category. Modest nature equalizes both the attributes, Swords dance can easily cover for the lost attack power and there is room for growth with the increased special attack.

Talonflame has a great special attack set, it can learn Hurricane, Fire Blast, Heat Wave and Solar Beam. In reality, a flying type with just physical attack is awful because you always stay low to the ground to hit other Pokemon which makes it easy for the opponent to pick on flying types.

Flying types advantage comes when they attack from a high altitude which can only happen if they have a wide range of special attacks. I think Modest nature Talonflame can be a mixed combatant on the team, its high speed helps in dodging the attacks or initiating them. Its main weakness for rock types can be covered by solar beam. So sunny day is must for Talonflame, as for physical attacks it has a lot of options with swords dance, so mixed playstyle is best for a modest Talonflame.

I also found something interesting. I am learning to multi-task these days, I can think or plan things and concentrate on the outside world at the same time without any problems. This might be the new perk of advanced psychic abilities.

Slowly, the time passed and evening arrived, I caught 8 Pokemon out of which two are green, five are yellow and the last two orange to avoid suspicion of submitting only talented Pokemon. Fletchling when tired started resting on my head which made me look like a clown in devils attire.

It was very dark outside so I planned to start my journey back to the base. I can take a good night's rest in the base and then come back tomorrow.

--------------------

Three hours later:

I was at the entrance and some grunts were patrolling the area. They greeted me respectfully and then continued doing their job. My attire was very eye-catching so everyone who saw me greeted me, were they intimidated? Nah....don't think so.

I directly went to the counter where Bob was operating as I placed all the Eight pokeballs on the table.

"I want to sell these for some items," I said getting straight to the point.

Bob looked at me and then said, "You were the second person to come back, are this year's trial takers that good?" he asked.

'Oh, so someone already made it back huh'

"Anyway, that doesn't matter, your ID is ready, so take it," he said handing me a simple rectangular card which had a weird barcode.

"It stores your credits and helps you prove your team rocket identity in other bases so keep it safe. If lost report immediately. Now, let's get to the business part...."

He immediately took the pokeballs and placed them in a weird machine that was near the computer.

"Here we operate on credits so each potential pokemon has a minimum value that varies in price according to their ability or egg moves or even characteristic."

I nodded at the info provided as he continued, " A red potential Pokemon is valued at a minimum price of 10 credits, Orange at 100, yellow at 1000, green at 10,000 while Blue is worth 100,000. Purple is invaluable so there is no exchange rate for now. For example, If you sell a high-grade green potential pokemon then you get a minimum of 70,000 credits. If the ability is good then that might increase too."

'Ding Ding, Ding Ding'

"Oh!!!! the scan is done so let me check the resu...!!!!!!!!!! what the hell young man, did you marry a Jirachi or something? Two green, five yellow and two Orange. But how?????" he asked in astonishment.

"It's nothing, my pokemon are strong so any pokemon that rivals them means they have good potential. So I caught every pokemon that rivalled my Pokemon."

"But still!!!!!....." he did not know what to say so he stated the prices of the pokeballs I submitted.

"Both are low-grade Green potential Pokemon with one having a good ability and characteristic while the other being average. So they sell for 35,000 and 20,000 each respectively, similarly, the five yellow pokemon go for 22500 all combined while the two orange talented pokemon go for 600 credits. Overall you have a total of 78,100 credits. Cost of the items are posted there, go check it out," he pointed at a notice board on the far west corner.

I walked towards it thinking,

'A single low Grade green potential Pokemon was sold for 20k but five yellow potential Pokemon with two being high grade were sold for the same amount as low-grade Green. Just shows you the dividing line between a Green Potential and Yellow potential pokemon.'

I arrived at the Notice board and saw the list:

Tm's: Protect- 5000

Agility- 5000

Taunt- 5000

Will-O-Wisp- 5000

Rain Dance- 10,000

Sunny Day- 10,000

Swords Dance- 40,000

Rock Tomb- 20,000

Brick Break- 40,000

.

.

.

.

Solar Beam- 80,000

Weight adjust device- 20,000 each

Pokeball: 200

Great ball: 1000

Ultra Ball: 5000

potion: 500(including status cures)

The list went on like that and after deciding what to buy, I went ahead and asked Bob.

" I need a protect, agility, Will-O-Wisp, Rock Tomb, Sunny day, Weight practice device and 25 normal pokeballs with three great balls"

"Let me calculate that...and it will be exactly 73,000 credits, so that leaves you only 5,100 credits."

I nodded at that and told him I will keep the credits for now.

Bob went inside to get all the items, he came back after a long fifteen meets. I put all of them in the spacial pouch, Bob then assigned me a room for the night which was close to the counter. I also borrowed a Tm machine through which I can implant the memory of moves into a pokemon.

I went into the room that I was assigned to and started taking out all the items. These Tm's are reusable considering the two green potential Pokemon I had to sell. I plan to teach two attacks for each Pokemon, they will have to master them this week while the rest will be done after the tournament.

I put the disks on one side and pokeballs on the other side of Tm machine. I am teaching Fletchling Protect and Will-O-Wisp instead of Agility as she has a speed boost from flame charge. Electrike will be learning Protect and Agility, Sandile will be learning RockTomb and Protect. I assigned each Tm and then pressed the button to start the transfer.

The whole process took five minutes, I summoned them out immediately to see how they felt.

Sandile, Electrike and Fletchling all came out in a daze. They were processing the information they got. Sandile was the first to come out of his trance as he shouted,

[Bro, I magically learnt two new moves. How cool is that???]

"Cool your ass, I used all the money to buy them and implant the information into your brain. You will get six days to master those moves, I also bought a weight adjusting device for Fletchling hoping she can evolve by breaking her limits. Finally, each of you guys will be going into a new Pokeball which is bigger than the previous one. So for today take rest while we start the hellish training from tomorrow."

All of them joyfully nodded and got into their new pokeballs which had more pocket space and improved healing factor. Finally, before going to bed, I checked all their statuses.
