Ryan after winning his second round started to wait for his next opponent. Unfortunately for him his next two opponents where comlete pushovers.

One was calling himself Bug type specialist and sent out Butterfree. He was anything but a Bug type specialist. He couldn't even draw the power of the Bug type pokemon properly.

The next opponent was using a Zubat and a Beedrill. Now Ryan has reached the semi-finals.

His next opponent's name was Carl. He has heard that name somewhere. 'Ah! Gabriel told me about him' Ryan thought. Ryan is not going to do anything. If he attacks him he will retaliate back.

Soon it was his turn. According to the information Carl has

"OUR NEXT BATTLE , IN RED CORNER WE HAVE CARL, ON THE GREEN CORNER WE HAVE RYAN MORTIMER!" said the commentator.

"If you know what is good for you quit from the match" said Carl.

'So he is one of those snobby rich brats who think they are the best' thought Ryan as he ignored Carl.

"Burn them to Cinders Incineroar" said Ryan.

Carl got angry that he got ignored.

"Go Tangela" he said.

"Do you know common sense? You have sent a Grass type against a Fire type" said Ryan which angered Carl even further.

"Tangela use Bulk Up then Power whip" said Carl.

"Dodge it and use Darkest Lariat followed by Burning Jealousy" Countered Ryan.

Soon as Tangela used Bulk Up Incineroar used Darkest Lariat to send it flying and used Burning Jealousy which was 2x super effective. Tangela fainted immediately.

Carl wanted to put a tantrum but kept it in and sent in Fearow.

Rayan saw the Fearow and thought 'Blood shot eyes, Skin roughed up, Nerves bulging. Without a doubt it was the side effect of a drug used to strengthen a Pokemon'. Usually Ryan would be indifferent because the Council has allowed drugs known as 'Vitality' which increases the pokemon's stats, but the drug Carl has used is called 'Nocturn' which is highly illegal due to its side effects on the pokemon. If it is injected in high doses the pokemon will die.

"Referee-" Ryan said but was interrupted by Carl

"So you are chickening out now?" Carl started to taunt but got angry seeing Ryan was blatantly ignoring him.

"Stop shouting like a broken tape recorder. My ears are bleeding." Ryan said as he went to the Referee and reported Carl's usage of a illegal drug. The referee nodded.

Usually complaining that a trainer is using an drug which is illegal in all regions is a serious and it would need evidence. This is the 'Little Professor' they were talking about. He has given all the evidence and demanded an inspection.

Soon medical staffs came and tried to check the Fearow. The keyword being tried. Carl started to shout and threatened them with his family's power in the council. Soon Charles Goodshow came and talked with Ryan.

Ryan after informing Mr. Goodshow about his observations told him to check the pokemon immediately. Mr. Goodshow used his authority of the league and threatened Carl that his family's asset would be seized if he doesn't comply.

Carl was going to attack Mr. Goodshow when Ryan intervened and restrained him. Soon his pokemon was checked and found that he not only used high dosage of 'Nocturn' drug but also 'Dollor' drug which increased a pokemon's tolerance to a drug.

This drug was extremely illegal due to the fact it can raise the tolerance towards other drugs. 10 years ago when this drug was produced a lot of problems arose. Due to the drug, people started to inject many other illegal drugs which started to kill their own pokemon.

Soon the matter was investigated by the Council and the drug was banned and destroyed. Soon Carl was cuffed and was dragged to the station as he started shout how he will kill everyone here for what they have done.

He cannot do anything because the penalty for using 'Dollor' is life imprisonment. Couple it with assaulting Mr. Goodshow, threatening everyone to kill their family and using 'Nocturn' drug he will be given death penalty

"Mr. Goodshow life imprisonment would be very light for him" said Ryan.

"Indeed his family would definitely try something to bring him out" replied Mr. Goodshow.

"Yes, that's why you should investigate his and his parents assets and pokemon and find whether he has committed any other crime." Ryan said.

"Hm . . . that's a good idea I'll do that" said Mr. Goodshow as he went towards the police officers.

Soon Ryan was declared as the winner by default. The incident only increased his fame though he didn't know it.

Soon the 2nd match of semifinals took place and the winner Misty Waterflower advanced to the finals.
