Pokemon Saga: Journey of a Lifetime Ch13

As Ryan and Pikachu closed their eyes a white beam covered them. They then opened their eyes to see they were in a different room. They exited the room to see a room twice as big as the assembly hall in the previous base. There were many board on the wall in which different papers were pinned to. Ryan guessed that they were all missions that are yet to be taken.

The Mission Hall looked like 'Guild Hall' in the MMORPG fantasy games. He saw an reception counter where everyone were taking on missions. According to the receptionist there are different types of missions. It ranged from catching a pokemon to killing a person.

Every member in Team Rocket want to become an Executive, but it is not that easy. If one were to become an Executive he/ she must complete a S rank mission, but S rank mission have a 50% death rate which perfectly fits the quote 'Do or Die'. Then he/ she must get recognized by Giovanni as an member worthy of Executive position. That's how a member can become a Team Rocket Executive.

Usually the Leader, Vice Leader only command people and run the whole Organization dealing with resources etc, So they don't take any missions. Head executives are on par with Champions, So they only do dangerous missions classified as 'SS'. Executives deal with S rank missions. Elite Captains deal with A rank missions.

Captains deal with B rank missions. Elite soldier and Soldiers deal with D and C rank mission. Usually only Soldiers deal with D and C rank mission, but the number of mission are very high that even Elite Soldiers are needed. Right now Ryan can only take D and C rank, If I am lucky maybe an B rank. "The payment for C rank should sustain for me now."

D rank : 1 TRC - 100 TRC

C rank : 100 TRC - 1,000 TRC

B rank : 1,000 TRC - 10,000 TRC

A rank : 10,000 TRC - 100,000 TRC

S rank : 100,000 TRC - 1,000,000 TRC

SS rank : 1,000,000 TRC - 10,000,000 TRC

SSS rank : 10,000,000 TRC - 100,000,000 TRC

Z rank : ??? TRC

There are SSS rank missions, but throughout the years of Team Rocket there was only 1 SSS rank but that too got dissolved due to 100% death rate. The mission was to steal 'Hearts' of the league, but after death of 26 Executives, the head executive, the vice leader himself the mission was dissolved. No one knew what the 'Hearts' of the league were. They were classified information, they were only for the eyes of Leader, Vice Leader and those who took on the mission.

Z ranks are an mystery missions, it can become an D rank or an A rank or even S rank anytime. Everyone is allowed to take Z rank mission but the higher rank mission pay well and are much more safer due to the info given, So anyone rarely take Z ranks.

Ryan went to the mission counter. "What do you want?" the receptionist asked. "I am an rookie member can you please select the missions I can go on" Ryan asked politely. The receptionist smiled and told "Glad that you are respectful to your seniors. Some people think they are superior since they passed the selection test. The requests in the last left board is all yours."

Ryan went to where she pointed and saw numerous D and C ranks, he sighed seeing all of them had small rewards. Even if completing 5 D ranks is enough to meet the monthly requirements, it does not meet the requirement for Promotion. Ryan saw that few C ranks have similarity in them. All of them can be completed in one fell swoop. Their reward were also quite sufficient.

Ryan was confused about the ranks of the pokemon so, he asked about them to the receptionist. Apparently there are 6 ranks S, A, B, C, D, E where E was the weakest and S was the strongest. Ryan quickly made a calculation and equaled the Talent to Ranks.

E = Common

D = Rare

C = Epic

B = Unique

A = Legendary

S = Primordial

Ryan went to the mission board and took the similar ones. They were:

Capture a C-rank Pidgey; Reward: 200 TRM ; Failure: fine 100 TRM

Capture a C-rank Beedrill; Reward: 300 TRM ; Failure: fine 200 TRM

Investigate the sudden increase in Bug pokemon in Viridian Forest; Reward: 500 TRM Failure: fine 300 TRM

Before doing the mission Ryan used his aura as a mask to hide his face. For everyone he would just be a random stranger not Ryan. He decided he will do two missions today.

Mission #1 and #2

Viridian Forest is located between both Viridian city and Pewter city. The dense trees in this forest serve as home for several Bug type Pokémon. It also houses a variety of Grass type Pokémon. Rare Pokémons such as Bulbasaurs can be found here. This naturally attracts Poachers, but elite Pokémons which are deep in the forest chase them away. Pokémons such as Beedrill, Butterfree, Gloom act as natural defense due to their move set which causes status conditions such as paralyzation, Poisoning, Fainting. These are very deadly when used in the right way.

Ryan wandered the forest checking for pokemon which suited the mission's criteria. Pikachu was walking beside him keeping a lookout in case he missed anything. Soon a Pokemon attacked Ryan. It was a Pidgey. He hurriedly asked Pikachu to use thunder wave. Soon the Pokemon went limp.

Seeing that the Pidgey had met the mission's criteria he caught it and kept it safely. Now he just has to find an C rank Beedrill. Then tomorrow he can finish the remaining missions and get the rewards. He was thinking of which pokemon to catch when a bright light hit him. He went where the light was.

He found an egg hatching. There were no pokemon in sight. so the egg must have been abandoned. Soon a pokemon emerged. It was a Dreepy. It saw him and flied towards him and nuzzled him. Ryan immediately melted and took a pokeball and caught it. He will talk with it later.

His luck was good today. Seeing the light a C rank Beedrill came to investigate. Ryan checked its stats and caught it while it was off guard. He also found that there was a scent of honey. In this world there is only one source of honey, it was honey trees. This would explain the huge influx of bug pokemon. It seems like mission three is also completed. With this he can pay 500 TRM coins and have remaining money.
