Chapter no.1

What was it that you longed for when you were a child?

The majority of people have the same general goals and aspirations, which are to suddenly become adults, to achieve wealth and fame beyond their wildest imaginations, and to bring joy to their parents. Of course, the majority of children have at one point or another wished they had a Pokémon of their very own; one that they could take on journeys with them. It all depended on what kind of wishes they were and whether or not those wishes were going to come true. The majority of wishes would always be divided between two categories: those that were feasible and those that were not feasible. The difference between something being feasible and being unfeasible is whether it can be accomplished in this life through one's own efforts or through luck.

In a nutshell, you are solely responsible for the fulfilment or nonfulfillment of your wishes.

You might be wondering why I am saying this. This is nothing more than a reflection. I never considered myself to be one of those children who aspired to have a successful career, a magnificent Pokémon, or even to have the approval of my parents.

I simply desired to leave.

Almost a century ago, there was an event that took place. Something unfavourable took place. At this point, nobody knows what caused it; all we can do is deal with the consequences of it. Some people believe that a trainer lost their mind and started everything, while others believe that it was a nationwide conspiracy. There are even those who believe that the Gods themselves have abandoned us because we have abused what they have so carefully created for us over the course of countless aeons.

In spite of this, we continue to struggle in the dilemma that we face today.

War had been declared. There was no longer any such thing as a Pokémon trainer; instead, the term "trainer" referred to specialised soldiers who had been trained in Pokémon warfare and utilised the creatures in order to cause the most amount of damage possible to locations, people, and other Pokémon. However, after that someone made the decision that Pokémon were also the enemy, which led to the beginning of a genocide against the creatures.

It became a full-scale war.

It turned into a massive free-for-all between the countries, with people attacking people, people attacking Pokémon, Pokémon attacking Pokémon, and so on. It had progressed to the point where Pokémon and anyone who kept one without a military trainer's licence were executed on the spot. The situation had reached this point.

Every nation fought for its own independence; Kanto and Johto came dangerously close to wiping each other off the map in their competition to become the dominant region. I'm not sure what happened to the other countries, but an enormous eruption from Mount Coronet itself wiped out the entire continent of Sinnoh and completely obliterated all of its inhabitants.

And Hoenn was only clinging to its sanity by the skin of its teeth. The majority of people believe that Hoenn was successful, but I lived in the nation. Every single ounce of praise that they had for our nation is something that I could easily find fault with. Damage had been done everywhere as a result of the war, and it had turned the entire country into a warzone. We were all living in poverty, and it was not unusual to come across someone sleeping on the sidewalk or eating spoiled food. When someone passed away, whether from starvation, being struck by a stray bullet, or even from simply deciding they did not want to live anymore, whatever was left over was enough to sustain us for a few days.

We were cannibals hell bent on genocide.

Was it any surprise that I wanted to leave?

Some people believe that you should be careful in what you wish for. That is something that can only be fully comprehended in retrospect. I can say with complete sincerity that I would never have wished for freedom if I had been aware of what was going to take place when I was finally able to flee the situation.

They have a saying that goes, "Hindsight is twenty-twenty." Take what I've learned from it, and put it to good use in your life. If you take the time to learn from my errors, there is a chance that you will be able to accomplish things that I was unable to.

Find out how I brought about the end of the world in less than a year.
