We triumphed in hiring a private yacht in which we used to bring ourselves to Figaro Island, a burial place for Pokemon in the Arid Archipelago. It wasn't what I was expecting, with all the gloom and everything, black sand, scary skies, and rolling thunders. It was bright, filled with light green patches of land, barely any trees and a bunch of gravestones. There were a few monks who came and did their religious practices and some people who visited their dead comrades.
We docked at a wharf and proceeded to sum up the second phase of our plan.
"Where will someone be most likely to hide the fragment?"
"Not sure, but I'm not digging up any of these gravestones-- Fletcher, Zorua! Don't wander off to far."
<Fletcher!>
<Zor!>
They continued playing and rolling on the field.
"But that's most likely where it's going to be. It's an unexpected place and like you, no one's gonna dig them up because that would be disrespectful. See! These 'authorities' are just messing with our minds."
"Or it could be there." I pointed to the other end of the island. It was a long monolith atop a marble platform. There were ancient texts scribbled on it and it appears that's where the monks came to bow and kneel.
"How are you planning to lift that up?"
"Slice it down."
"With your Absol?"
"No! This time, you show your Pokemon! I want to see it."
"About the people there? They'll know we're responsible if you attack it, and my Pokemon are weak!"
"You're just being humble. Yours can mega evolve, you have a Scizor, what else? Fine, battle me."
"I don't want to."
"But a while ago, you wanted."
"That ship has sailed."
"Now! Come on! Show me."
"Alright, alright, let's have a quick battle, but I fight against your Zorua!"
Zorua turned his eyes on me.
"But he just hatched."
"Don't worry, that's why it's called a battle! Its purpose is for training. Come out, Sableye."
"Never mind. Okay, I didn't know you had a Sableye. Zorua, come here!"
Zorua ran. Fletcher followed and sat on the grass to spectate.
"Sableye, Shadow Claw!"
Another mischievous laughter from him as he dunked underneath the foe and tossed him to the air.
"Scratch!"
As the Sableye fell, Zorua's move threw it back and punctured its eye.
"Now, Lear!"
Zorua flashed a grin, lowering the foe's defense.
"Sableye! Zen Headbutt!"
<Zor!>Zorua transformed into Sableye and smacked it yet with another scratch on the face.
The scratching, improvised tactics, creative dodging and leering continued until Sableye's defense was low and was now easy to knock out. The battle gave my newly hatched Pokemon an opportunity to learn Fury Swipes due to constant scratch.
"And, it fainted. Sableye, return!"
"You'll still do it."
"You saw how weak I am."
"Then use your Pokemon that could mega evolve to chop that thing off."
"And the people? What sort of plan do you have to turn their heads away?"
I was silent.
"I have my arrows. One of its kind can release smog."
"Alright, fine! We're switching roles."
The plan was finalized. While the monks are blinded, me and Absol would then again collapse a significant figure and steal below it whatever needs to be stolen.
