EPISODE 36: The City from Within!*
Continuing my normal routine, grooming my Pokemon except for Absol and Mawile, my Rocket Radar turns on again, revealing the holographic image of Professor Olive. In times like this, it is usually another mission.
"Luna Evergreen, you are to receive another mission today. Please head to the warehouse immediately." instructs, Professor Olive as she shuts down the rocket radar.
I am both lazy and tired because of waking up in such an early morning. My mood is all messed up and I haven't eaten breakfast yet since Zeal was in my room a minute ago. Plus, what's worse is that my hair is not yet groomed when the fur of my Pokemon is already neat.
Well, a mission is a mission and I'm getting paid so it's fine with me since I benefit from it. And so, at exactly eight in the morning, I arrive in front of the leaders with my partner Zeal while wearing my Rocket attire. This will be Bagon's first time to attend a mission which is a large opportunity for her to learn new moves.
"Since the two of you are finally here, listen up. Today you will be infiltrating or rather exploring a temple located in the hidden city of Sootopolis. Due to it being hidden from plain sight our submarine will direct you there." says, Admin Fortuna.
"This mission has something to do with not only Rayquaza but to further comprehend a legend of old. All you need to do is to take a few screenshots or pictures and send them back to our headquarters for examination." adds, Admin Hector.
"You're sending us, elite operatives just to take screenshots of a ten-thousand-year-old temple?" Zeal asks in a sarcastic manner.
"Copper and Vizion are currently having their mission in the west of Hoenn so we need the two of you to do this. Plus, our other members are busy handling a circuit problem in the basement and the other half are having their day-off. This is our routine here remember?" Leader Crimson answers in a serious tone. I on the other hand was avoiding myself from laughing against Zeal's conversation.
"The reason why we are sending you there in the first place is to learn more from the temple rather than merely picturing every inch of it. As a professor, I need details of our goals that must succeed." Professor Olive explains further why we should not be slacking and instead of working.
"Oh and right. Be careful. Sootopolis is home to one of the greatest trainers in the world, and on rare occasions, his friend, Steven might be there." Admin Fortuna warns sincerely as if it was a terrible and vulnerable threat to this mission.
"Steven?!" The two of us exclaim.
"Indeed that is right. Steven the champion is known to be a great adventurer who is dearly in love with the city of Sootopolis. Also, he has a friend named Wallace, a gym leader." from the distance, leaning on one of the test tubes, Xeryll interrupts, joining our conversation.
"Just be careful and at all times, stay away from conflict. Clearly, the two of you are no match against the most powerful gym leader and the champion of our sacred land. Stay safe and keep a lookout for them." Crimson bids.
"Don't worry, we won't fail the mission!" Me and Zeal salute with high determination.
"Hehe, leave the transportation to me." says, Xeryll with determination.
"Then it is settled! Go ahead and have your breakfast. Once that is done, proceed directly to the mission." Professor Olive instructs with enthusiasm as she dismisses us.
The mission is loud and clear with two vulnerable threats. For at least an hour I ate my breakfast alone in the cafeteria like always since Zeal also prefers to eat alone and I have no friends here. Two of my friends are enemies, one is dead and the other is extremely far from Hoenn. I do wonder at times how Virgo is doing. She is a professor now, a young one at least but I believe even with her age she can be clever too.
She also emailed me yesterday and during my breakfast did I only open it. According to the email, she discovered another profound way for a Pokemon known as Rotom to possess a certain device. She said it is still under management but it will be ready in no time. Her main focus as of now is to try to create a Pokedex in which a Rotom can possess.
She also said she will be sending a prototype soon enough but it make take a while since the project has recently started. I have high hopes for her and for the future of Team Rocket. Reading the email sent to me makes me happy and I am looking forward to hearing more from Virgo.
I emailed her back too, telling all about my time here except for one thing. My rogue mission to bring Charlotte back. Galar, I will remember that region and find whoever proposed the brainwashing serums in the first place. Also, Zeal said something about an organization which in fact tried to kill the three leaders of this branch. The future may be great for us, but in it lies different dangers waiting to unfold. Terrible... terrible troubles.
