Chapter 22 - Cynthia vs Blaine [II]

"Well, it does to be expected. Arcanine's level is 37 while Gastrodon is only 28; there was a huge power difference between Aracine and Gastrodon." Itsuki also feels that Cynthia's Gastrodon will become even more powerful and increase its level by the time of Indigo League.

Milotic is an elegant, sinuous Pokémon that resembles a sea serpent or oarfish. Its body is predominantly cream in color, while its fanlike tail comes in various shades (particularly of blue and magenta), that change upon the viewing angle. It has long red "hair" and curled red eyebrows that embellish its crimson eyes. Milotic is thought to be one of the most beautiful Pokémon in the world.

Arcanine had just finished using flame thrower and things was getting little clear and he was able to see properly but then white lightning like beam hit Arcanine and completely froze his body in Ice.

This time Blaine completely lost his cool.

"Cynthia is really scary when it comes to battle. You will never know when you fall in trap made by her. From the beginning of this second battle, Cynthia was almost controlling Blaine in her palms. She purposely used Mist to make Blaine think that Milotic is going to use Mist to escape from Arcanine and attack them. The Blaine played just like Cynthia predicated or wanted and fell for the trap."

'Looks like I have to train my Pokémons to improve their senses. Before I thought that in Indigo league Gary and ash will be my strongest opponent but now it looks like Cynthia is also going to be the most difficult opponent.' Itsuki made a mental note and kept observing Cynthia.

"Milotic, use dragon tail"

Milotic approached frozen Arcanine, under the helpless look of Blaine; Milotic used dragon tail and sent Arcanine flying back.

Arcanine slowly stood up with injuries on his body.

Arcanine roared loudly which made Blaine little excited.

"I knew you wouldn't give up so easily. Arcanine now use extreme speed." Blaine shouted loudly.

'Extreme speed is a speed type attack that means Milotic cannot dodge Arcanine's attacked.' Blaine secretly felt excited to defeat such powerful challenger like Cynthia.

But Cynthia still remained calm.

"Milotic, use ice beam on the ground in front of you." Milotic Ice beam froze the ground around Milotic and it now became a perfect ground for skating.

Just as Arcanine stepped on the frozen ground, he immediately slipped and fell down in front of Milotic.

"What?" Blaine couldn't help but shout. He never thought Cynthia would counter Arcanine extreme speed this way.

"Milotic, use another dragon tail." Milotic swung her tail and the tail color changed to Cyan.

Boom!

Arcanine directly fainted from the attack.

"I lost huh" Even Blaine couldn't believe he lost. It's been a long time since he lost against a trainer. Most of the trainer that comes to challenge Blaine is a rookie trainer and does not have much experience so Blaine can easily defeat them but this time Blaine felt very excited to battle against someone who is strong and also great tactician.

"Arcanine, you did a good work." Blaine pulled Arcanine back to the Pokeball.

"Milotic, thank you" Cynthia after calling Milotic back to the Pokeball, she walked out of the battlefield.

"Congratulations, you won." Cynthia nodded with a beautiful smile. Itsuki clearly saw how serious she becomes during battle.

"Now it's your turn. Good luck." Itsuki nodded and walked to the position where Cynthia stood a moment ago.

"Boy you are ready?" Itsuki nodded.

"Come out Dragonair" Itsuki decided to go with Dragonair since she is the 2nd most powerful Pokémon in the team. Itsuki did not catch Articuno for battle. Articuno is just staying with him until she gets her revenge. Itsuki also does not want to borrow Articuno's strength to defeat gym leaders or during Indigo league.

'If I am going to win the Indigo League then I will only use the Pokémons I have trained.' Itsuki feels that using Articuno for battle is kind of cheating. Itsuki wants to win the Indigo league with pride and using Articuno for battle wouldn't give him this pride, he would not get any satisfaction. That why Itsuki has been so focused on training his other Pokémons.

"Time for another battle Magmar" Itsuki can see that Blaine was grinning when he bought out his Magmar.

Magmar's body is designed to let it camouflage itself in fire, so it is mainly red and yellow all over. It has a flame pattern on its torso, and a fire on its tail, similar to Charmander and Chimchar (though Chimchar's fire actually is its tail). It has a large beak that can spit out fire, thus giving it the species name the 'Spitfire' Pokémon.

Natural abilities

Magmar have the ability Flame Body. Flame Body has a 30% chance of burning a foe that physically attacks Magmar. Its body temperature is 2,200 Degrees Fahrenheit. Its body shimmers like the sun and its breath can cause miniature heat waves around it.

Dragonair cannot fight Magmar in close distance since there is a chance of getting burned due to Magmar's flame body. A good thing is that Dragon type is highly resistant against fire type.' Itsuki's mind was running at lightning speed. He was thinking about the best moves that can hurt Magmar.
