Chapter 169 - Prism Tower, Clembot

"Itsuki, are you really not coming with me?" Serena asked.

Itsuki shook his head. "I apologize, Serena but I can't come with you. I have to start my training as soon as possible." Even though Serena felt reluctant and a little sad to separate from Itsuki, she knew that Itsuki needed to go.

"I understand."

"Don't worry, I will message you at least once even if I am busy." Hearing the last part, Serena nodded her head with a smile.

"Until we meet next time Itsuki." Itsuki nodded as he watched Serena leave. After Serena left, Itsuki came out of the airport where Clemont and Bonnie were waiting for him.

Clemont built Clembot when he found out that being a Gym Leader meant he had little time to spend with his beloved inventions and decided to create a replacement who could meet challengers when he was busy. He programmed it to be what he believed was the ideal Gym Leader, believing that his perfect opponent would be someone who had earned four Kalos Gym Badges and that the Leader should be someone who is strict in order to allow people to learn.

Clemont intended to enter a voice code to allow him to take control of Clembot if the need arose, but he mistimed the entry of the code. Clemont intended to give it the code "sandwich". However, when Clembot's eyes lit up, indicating it was ready to accept the voice code, Clemont's younger sister Bonnie ran in to inform him of a challenger. As Clemont left, he accidentally tripped over a cord trying to leave the room, causing Clembot to fall and gain a dent in its forehead. He picked Clembot back up and said, "You can start today. I'm Clemont, the Gym Leader." Unexpectedly, Clembot accepted this dialogue as the voice code input.

On the battlefield, Clemont activated Clembot to show it off to Bonnie. However, Clembot immediately asked Clemont how many Badges he had. As Clemont did not have any and he could not provide the correct voice code, Clembot chased Clemont and Bonnie out of the Gym and sealed the door, exiling them and cutting Clemont off from his Pokémon, which Clembot then took possession of. Many attempts to reenter failed, and the siblings were forced to give up and abandon the Gym. As a result, Clembot was left in charge and soon gained a very bad reputation as a strict and violent Gym Leader who would electrocute and throw out challengers who either did not meet the four Kalos Gym Badge requirements or lost their Gym match.

Right now Clemont, Bonnie, and Itsuki were heading to the prism tower. Itsuki had agreed to help Clemont. The main reason why Itsuki agreed to help Clemont is because of the change in timeline. In the series, Clemont only managed to gather his courage due to Ash but since Ash was not going to come, Itsuki thought he should help Clemont.

"Itsuki, I can't thank you enough for helping me."

"This will be your fight. The only thing that we can do is assist you from the sidelines." Clemont would have to defeat his own robot and then reprogram everything. Itsuki was only going to help Clemont get past his other Pokemon.

"By the way, Itsuki can I ask you something?" While walking, Isaac, and Clemont looked at Bonnie who was walking in the middle.

"What is it?" Itsuki asked.

"You have fought Cynthia at the finals, right?" Itsuki nodded his head with a confused look. Itsuki wondered what Bonnie was trying to say.

"Do you know if Cynthia is single or not?" Hearing Bonnie's question, Clemont's face turned red from embarrassment.

"Bonnie!!!"

"Brother, you're already 16 years old. All of your classmates already have gotten married. I know that you're too shy around girls. So it's my responsibility as your little sister to find the best girl that could take care of my brother." Bonnie showed a proud look which further embarrassed Clemont. Saying such words in front of the man whom, Clemont considered his idol was making Clemont feel very ashamed.

Itsuki decided to play along knowing that Bonnie was also teasing her brother. Knowing Cynthia's personality, she would never date someone like Clemont. Cynthia is the kind of girl who doesn't judge a person based on their appearance.

"Cynthia doesn't have any boyfriend." As far as Itsuki could tell, Cynthia never showed interest in relationship. All the times her only focus is Pokemon and fighting. When it comes to relationship stuff, Cynthia is really clueless.

"Did you hear that brother? I think you still have a chance. As long as you don't give up?" For some reason hearing Bonnie's words, Itsuki imagined Clemont and Cynthia begin together. Just imagining Cynthia with another man, Itsuki felt his mood was getting worse. Itsuki felt as if someone was tightly squeezing his heart.

"Bonnie, I am not interested in Cynthia or any other girl. How many times do I have to tell you the same words?" Clemont had no interest in Cynthia. For now his only love was his inventions.

Hearing Clemont words, Itsuki strangely felt relieved.

"Brother, you will have to find a girlfriend and get married. You can't stay single forever. Father is also dying to become a grandfather. He wants nothing but a grandchild."

Sigh!

Clemont sighed and decided not to response to Bonnie's words. Clemont can't even think anything beyond finding a girlfriend, marriage and having baby was something that Clemont doesn't even wish to think of.

"By the way Clemont, when did you become the gym leader of Lumiose City?" The marriage conversation had left a sour taste in Itsuki's heart. So he quickly changed the flow of conversation to another direction.

"I became gym leader 1 and half years. Right when I graduated from University. Father wanted to retire so I took things over."

"It must have been hard for you to sudden become a gym leader."

Clemont nodded with a tired look. "To be honest, I don't want to work as a gym leader but I have to continue to family's generational duties. My great grandfather was the first gym leader of Lumiose City. The responsibility has been passed down from generation to generation. At first I made many mistakes. I was very harsh with new trainers. Dad, taught me and guided me for months. To be honest, I feel the old man is still young and energetic. I just don't understand why he retire this soon."

"We're here." The entrance of the Prism tower had a yellow electric symbol on it. The 5 meters tall green steel door slide down and opened the path for Itsuki, Bonnie, and Clemont to enter.

While walking through the long corridor, Clemont couldn't help but feel nostalgic. Clemont has stayed at this tower for almost one year. Even though he was returning after one month, Clemont felt as if a long time has passed.

The corridor was lit with dim yellow lights. Everything was very quiet which gave off a creepy feeling. Itsuki and Clemont walked at the front while Bonnie walked behind them. Just as Itsuki and Clemont took the right turn, they heard a voice. This voice was familiar to Clemont and Bonnie, bother brother and sister recognized this voice.

[Welcome to Lumiose city gym. In order to challenge the Lumiose gym, a trainer must have 5 badges.]

Itsuki remember how Ash got thrown out like a trash by Clemobot when Ash didn't had 5 badges. Fortunately nothing like that happened as Clemont kept walking forward. Today Clemont had nothing to fear of as Clemont was walking with the man who managed to reach Indigo League final and nearly won the Championship League. With Ituski on their side, Clemont and Bonnie's security was 90% guaranteed.

[Intruder has been detected. Intruder has been detected. Red alert.] WIth Clembot voice all the yellow light turned red.

"Something is coming." Itsuki felt a Pokemon was coming towards them. Both Clemont and Bonnie looked ahead only to find Clemont's former Pokemon which were given to him by his father when Clemont became the gym leader.

Magnemite!

Magneton!

Seeing his former Pokemon, Clemont became a little emotional. "Magnemite and Magneton. It's so nice to see you back. I missed you two so much." Clemont stupidly run forward to hug his Pokemon.

While Bonnie covered eyes in fear seeing Magnemite and Magneton preparing to attack Clemont with electric balls.

Booom!

"Brother!!!!" Bonnie panicked hearing the explosion sound. Only thing that Bonnie and Ituski currently saw was black smoke which was filled the corridor.

Tears almost dropped from Bonnie's eyes but next second a black appeared carrying Clemont.

"Good job, Zeraora."

If Itsuki had not sent Zeraora, Clemont would have been serious injured here or worse he could have died.

"Brother, are you alright?" Clemont stood after coughing for a few seconds.

"I am alright but..."Itsuki interrupted Clemont.

"Clemont, I will handle them. Only you can deal with your robot. Go Clemont, I will take care of everything. Zeraora will protect you." Zeraora nodded her head in agreement.

Clemont after hesitating for a second decided to agree with Itsuki. Seeing Clemont and Bonnie leave, a cold smile that sent frightened both of Clemont's former Pokemon appeared on Itsuki's face.

"Shall we begin our dance?"
