Chapter 116 - Indigo League; Itsuki vs Gary VI

Itsuki looked at Lucario who was standing looking at Magmar with a proud look. Lucario jumped from level 28 to level 41 in just one month. Lucario made most progress in the whole group.

At level 30 Riolu evolved and directly jumped to level 36. After evolving Itsuki taught Riolu some fighting and steel type moves.

Lucario is a bipedal dog/wolf/jackal-like Pokémon, with a few raccoon-like characteristics as well. Though it is similar in appearance to Riolu, Lucario has some notable differences, such as having redder eyes. Its fore-paws are black and it has large pointed spikes in place of the oval shaped bumps on Riolu. There is also a third spike protruding in the middle of its chest. Lucario's ears and muzzle are longer in comparison to Riolu but it retains the black "mask" and red eyes. The "mask" also has an added upper stripe. It also has four black sensory bundles on the back of its head opposed to Riolu, who only had two and were previously located on the side of its head. Additionally, Lucario's torso is covered in yellow fur with thicker patches on the collar. When its mouth is open, four large canine teeth, two on the top and two on the bottom, can be seen.

"Why?" Gary bit his lips so hard that his lips began to bleed. Gary was a proud man born as the son of one of the most powerful trainer in the whole world. Although Gary despised himself for borrowing a mid 5th order Pokémon, Gary looked at the bigger picture and felt that his family's honor and respect was more important.

Gary was hundred and ten percent confident that he was going to win this match. But time after time after time, Itsuki kept bringing out his strong Pokémon.

Gary clenched his fist very tightly and his loud voice had reached Itsuki's ears. "I was born for this. I am Gary Oak. I will not lose here. Magmar Over heat. Destroy him."

Magmar opened his mouth and released a large stream of swirling fire from his mouth at Lucario.

"Lucario, use extreme speed to dodge." Lucario's body was surrounded in a green aura. Just when the fire attack was about to hit Lucario, he disappeared almost like he had teleported.

Lucario reappeared behind the fire attack and continued to charge at Magmar.

Gary became ugly seeing that his attack had missed. Slowly but surely Gary was losing his calm and making rush decisions.

"Magmar focus blast." A cyan color sphere was fired at Lucario who was charging at Magmar.

"Lucario use Bone rush." Lucario puts its paws together and spreads them apart, creating a light green bone made of energy.

Lucario smashed the blue sphere that was fired at him and continued to move towards Magmar. Lucario was only 8 meters away from Magmar. Everyone can tell the battle had reached its peak.

"Magmar use fire punch and burn Lucario down." Lucario closed the distance between them and now he was in front of Magmar. Both Pokémon stared at each other. Magmar raised his fist to punch Lucario.

"Lucario throw the bone rush at Magmar." Lucario did as Itsuki told him. He threw the light green bone energy at Magamr. This succeeded in drawing Magmar's attention for a second which was enough for Lucario.

"Go for it. Aura sphere." Itsuki loudly shouted as he felt his blood boil in excitement.

Using the distraction, It took Lucario no more than a second to make two Aura spheres on his both palms.

Magmar saw this and also moved his right fist to punch Lucario. Lucario also moved his left hand and both of their attacks collided.

Boom!

The collision between two 5th order attacks generated a shockwave that pushed both Pokémon. Lucario saw Magmar falling was about to fall on the ground. Lucario used his all and threw the other Aura sphere on his right hand towards Magmar.

Bang!

[Ohhh! Did you see that? What a attack! In that very last second Lucario hit Magmar with a powerful Aura sphere.]

Lucario quickly got up as soon as he fell on the ground. Even when he fell down, Lucario didn't stop looking at Mamgar. His grandpa had taught him to never take his eyes off his opponent.

Gary saw Lucario quickly getting up but Magmar was struggling to get up. Magmar was already injured from the previous fight and now the Aura sphere had only made things even more difficult for Magmar. "Magar quickly get up." Everyone could hear the anxiousness in Gary's tone.

"Finish this with Close combat." Lucario suddenly appeared in front of Magmar who was about to stand up.

Magmar instincts kicked in, feeling a strong danger. Magmar saw the image of Lucario for a second as the next moment a punch landed on his face.

Followed by another punch on Magmar's chest. In just 5 seconds Lucario had landed more than 13 punches on Magmar's face and chest. Lucario ended his attack with a roundhouse kick that sent Magmar flying towards Gary.

Bang!

Magmar fell few meters in front of Gary. Gary saw that Magmar was not moving anymore and had lost his consciousness.

The referee confirmed Magmar's condition and declared, "Magmar is unable to continue."

[Itsuki have done it again. With this win Itsuki have defeated 3 strong Pokémon of Gary. Now the chances of Itsuki winning this battle is almost 99 percent certain. Gary only had 3 more Pokémon left while Itsuki had 5 Pokémon left. Itsuki is leading in this battle.]

[Gary might able to make an comeback if his Blastoise manages to defeat both Zeraora and Lucario which is impossible considering how powerful both Pokémon are.]

The more Gary heard commentator Jerry's words, the more ugly Gary's face became. Gary also knew that if he decides to quit now then Ash will definitely mock him. If Gary decides to continue the battle then he was sure that Itsuki's would able to defeat him. Gary was now stuck between two choices. Either continue the battle and suffer a humiliating defeat in Itsuki's hand or get mocked by Ash.

"Young man please take out your next Pokémon." The referee saw that Gary was lost in deep thoughts.

'I would rather get mocked by Ash then lose to Itsuki. If I quit then I can make a excuse and save my name. But if I get defeated by him then I won't able to make any excuses.' Gary glared at Itsuki as his eyes were filled with hatred.

'I will remember this humiliation and I will pay you back in the next tournament.'

Gary raised his right arm up in the air and declared. "I quit."

In an instant all the people from Pallet town who had came here to support Gary their faces turned dark. Some people started to regret after remembering how they had chased Itsuki and his parent away. If they hadn't done that, then Itsuki still would have been a citizen of Kanto and Pallet town's pride.

Eva noticed that Oak was trying his best to suppress his anger.

[Gary have decided to forfeit from the match which means Itsuki have won the match. Itsuki has been awarded with 5 points for ending the battle with 5 of his Pokémon remaining undefeated.]

All the fans began to cheer loudly for Itsuki. Even the people who once supported Gary at the start of this battle was now clapping their hands for Itsuki.
