Meanwhile in the other tent Dawn and Jesse were getting ready for bed. That is after they sent Meowlth over to the guys tent because he was being extra nosy and even a bit too personal. Thus they waited until after he was far out of ear shot before getting more in-depth in their discussion.
"So, Dawn do you mind me asking what exactly you find interesting about my son?" asked Jesse as she laid out her seeping bag.
"Well, at first it was hard to find something that really jumped out at me." started Dawn laying down her own sleeping bag, only to pause and quickly correct herself, "I mean not that he was hard to be around it's just that he was more a lone magicarp that never really wanted anyone other then his pokemon as company."
"He does have a special bound with his pokemon especially Joy." sighed Jessie as she looked past Dawn right towards the tent entrance which was also facing right towards the guys' tent. "It almost reminds me of my first pokemon ekans."
"Some might even think it's to bit strange." confessed Dawn as she crawled into her her sleeping bag, "I know I sure thought that at first."
"What changed?" asked Jesse looking once more at Dawn.
"For starters I started to get to know him, now it didn't hurt spending the holidays with him and Joy as well as getting to have a nice chat with Joy." replied Dawn with a smile. "It was through this that I truly started to realize how special of a person he really is."
"So again I ask you what is it that you like best about my son?" asked Jessie with a grin.
"Well that's a bit of a hard decision seeing as there are many things about him that I find fascinating." replied Dawn with a sinister grin. "There are after all so many unique things about him."
"Well, just pick the most interesting one and go from there please?" asked Jessie with a smile.
"Well the first one would have to be the fact that he loves his pokemon more then most people in his lives yet he is still willing to risk everything to protect those he cares about." explained Dawn with a smile. "Though he does still make foolish mistakes, but who doesn't."
"What about his smarts?" asked Jessie, "If I'm totally honest I'm not really sure where he even gets it from."
"Don't sell yourself short Jessie the only ones he could've gotten it from is you and James and trust me when I say you two have pulled of some really crazy and intelligent schemes over the years." replied Dawn with an encouraging smile. "You really need to be more positive in your thinking."
"How can I? You're a beautiful young lady, Foxx is a handsome and super intelligent young man." questioned Jessie with a tear starting to for in her eye. "Not to mention you are both are still young and skilled trainers. Why do you even bother with the likes of me and James. Why not just dump us off in any of the past cities or villages we've been to?"
"Foxx would never do that to you. One because you're his parents but mostly because he doesn't give up on anyone not even former criminals like yourself." replied Dawn with a smile, "Have you not yet learned that your son is a very special kid?"
"Very special indeed." sighed Jessie rolling over to the one side. "Just another reason for you to get ride of the two of us."
"Nonsense Jessie, you're just as important to the team as any of us." replied Dawn placing a hand on her shoulder, "Trust me we need you just as much as you think you need us."
"Yah, maybe as much as one needs a caterpie." huffed Jessie with her arms crossed in disbelief.
"Hay many trainers have done wonders with a caterpie and such Pokemon." replied Dawn, "If traveling with Ash Ketchum and Foxx Oak has taught me anything more then anything a great trainer can use any pokemon and still achieve great things."
"So I'm worse then the worst pokemon and trainer combined." sighed Jessie on the brink of crying.
"No. What I was trying to say is that one can't judge a pokemon nor trainer from their appearance." replied Dawn with a smile, "Yah you and James weren't the greatest of criminals, well actually horrible criminals if I'm being honest, but you're loving and carrying pokemon trainers and Foxx can see that."
"First off ouch that was a little more harsh then you really had to be, and second what makes you say were good trainers when we can't win even the most simple of battles?" questioned Jessie with a sniff.
"Because one Foxx would've set you straight if you weren't but more importantly being a great trainer has nothing to do with winning battles but more with loving, caring for and properly raising one's pokemon." explained Dawn, "Ash doesn't always win and the only reason Foxx has managed to remain victorious is because of the bound of his pokemon refusing to quit. That and he's only been traveling for a little over a year and doesn't go out seeking battles."
"True, but he is still far more skilled then one would think the offspring of two pathetic trainers such as me and James." sighed Jessie with a half smile.
"Hay you keep calling yourself pathetic and I'll have Joy come in here and straighten you up real good." replied Dawn with a sinister grin, "And you should know by now how she feels about being woken from her sleep."
"Oh yah James sadly learned that shortly after Christmas when he accidentally stepped on one of her tails trying to sneak a present under Foxx's pillow." replied Jessie with a short chuckle at the funny memory.
The two of them laughed and joked a little more before finally drifting off to sleep for the night as in the morning a new adventure awaited them for soon they would be in Dawn's home town of Twinleaf Town.
Sorry for the delay in releasing life happened and I've been extra busy. I'm working hard to get some things back on track one of which is my books. The plan at this time is to release a new chapter for each book monthly giving focus on the ones that are closest to completion that way I can limit myself back to a set schedual. As far as this series goes I will be taking a longer break then planned between season five and season six. Thank you all for your support and remember that your gift is the motivation for my creation. Give me more motivation if you wish for my schedual to move forward any. Thanks and have a blessed day.
