S2E14:Tri-Force Gym
After getting off the phone with Professor Oak, Foxx and Joy left Kurt's house and headed over to the temporary gym of Brock and Misty. He knew they'd most likely be there for another half-hour before they too called it a night.
Stepping into the place for the first time he looked around at the dilapidated state of the old barn building and with a raised eyebrow he asked, "Let me guess you need money for rent or repair?"
"No actually we get to use this building rent free because if it gets destroyed in a pokemon battle then the owner doesn't have to pay for someone else to tare it down." explained Brock as him and Misty approached him.
"No let's head to the apartment and we can discuss our thoughts unless the fact that you've left Kurt's lab means you're ready to move onto the next stage." replied Misty half excited for the return to an adventure and half wanting to stay a bit longer.
The trio continued to talk about their day while they headed over to the small house near their gym that they were renting as a shared apartment. Once there Brock started to cook dinner while Misty and Foxx cleaned up and set the table. It wasn't long before the food was on the table and the trio began to eat.
"So what's this big idea you guys had?" asked Foxx in between bits of food.
"Well as you know we've been just handing out our normal badges for when trainers beat us but their has started to be a few who've already earned our badges when they went through the Kanto league." started Misty only to pause for a bit.
"So far we've had to turn them away but we got to thinking if we created a new badge and the three of us where joint gym leaders." continued Brock as Misty ate. "That way if they've already earned one or both of our badges they skip right to you to fight for the new badge."
"But they'd have to prove they'd earned our badges by presenting them to us." added Misty to allow Brock to take a bite of his food.
"What I recommend is that if they've already earned your badge they have to face you in a one on one battle because you've both progressed as trainers since they earned your badge, and if they've earned both of your badges they face the two of you at the same time in a two on two team battle." explained Foxx before taking a quick bite and continuing.
"This way it's not just a easy pass because they beat you once, earning a gym badge needs to be a challenge and there are no other trainers that they have to face before facing either of you so if you grant them a free pass because they beat you once then where is the challenge?" added Foxx with a smile.
"So does that mean you're willing to be a part of our gym?" asked Brock.
"For the time being my studies are at a stand still so I have some free time until my package from Professor Oak arrives. So yes I'll be the third leader of gym though I don't think I'm that good of a trainer." replied Foxx before returning to eating your food.
"You've beaten both of us as well as the Battle On The Train Tournament. Not to mention earned more badges in one week then most do in a year." encouraged Brock. "You're more then qualified."
