CHAPTER 11 – THE METAPOD IN MORTAL DANGER

"You said it, it's luck" – I said calmly.

"Okay, so let's see how strong your Pokémon is, rookie trainer!" – Troy said.

"Just because I don't have any badges doesn't mean I don't know how to fight" - I said.

"That's what all the losers say, Binacle, use Water Gun!" – Troy exclaimed.

Suddenly, Binacle shot a huge amount of water from his small mouth which was aimed directly at Bunneary.

"Dodge it and use Double Kick!" – I exclaimed.

Bunneary dodged the attack with ease and aimed her leg directly at Binacle.

"Binacle, use Fury Swipes and stop her attack!" – Troy said.

But suddenly, I saw it clearly, I saw a way to avoid that, I saw a way to catch Troy and his Pokémon off guard.

"Bunneary, use your Double Kick and jump into the air!" – I said.

Bunneary, who had the same feeling as her trainer, used her attack to jump into the air.

"That won't do you any good, Water Gun!" – Troy said.

"Quick Attack!" – I exclaimed.

Binacle wasn't all bad, but its speed wasn't a big deal, so when it raised its head, Bunneary was no longer there, but behind him.

"Double Kick!" – I said with a smile.

"Dodge it and use Fury Swipes!" – Troy exclaimed.

But he couldn't dodge it as Bunneary got in front of him again and when Binacle was distracted looking behind him, Bunneary hit a powerful Double Kick that sent Binacle flying towards his trainer.

"Binacle!" - Troy exclaimed worriedly.

But Binacle couldn't respond to his trainer because he was completely fainted.

"It can't be! How could I have lost with only one attack?! You've cheated!" – Troy exclaimed angrily.

"Cheating? Ash fought fairly, just because you're trash doesn't mean he cheated!" – Celeste said angrily.

How dare that stupid boy insult Ash?

"You are...!" – Troy tried to say.

"One more word against my best friend and you'll deal with my Pikachu and her thunder shock and I assure you that she won't be kind to you" – I said frowning.

"Pikapi pi!" – Pikachu said throwing sparks from her cheeks.

Troy began to sweat profusely, the only Pokémon he had left was a Beedrill he had just catched recently, but he doubted that he could win against that Pikachu.

"This will not remain like this, we will meet again!" – Troy exclaimed.

Then, he ran away scared.

"Thank goodness that stupid is gone" – Celeste said more at ease.

"Thank you, Bunneary... well, yes, he was annoying" – I nodded as I returned Bunneary to her Pokéball.

"Pika pi!" – Pikachu nodded.

"Saur, bulba!" – the Bulbasaur suddenly said.

I almost forgot that all this had been caused by this little boy.

"You're welcome, now you can leave, you're safe" – I smiled.

If I catch that Bulbasaur now, I'd be like that useless trainer who just left.

"Bulba!" – said the Bulbasaur.

The Bulbasaur began to walk but then turned his head in our direction and motioned for us to follow him.

"It seems that he wants us to follow him" – Celeste said.

"It seems so" – I nodded.

Then, the three of us followed the Bulbasaur until we reached a large tree.

If I could guess, this tree was probably the largest and oldest tree in the entire Viridian Forest, seriously, it was gigantic, the rest of the trees we had seen so far had nothing to do with this one.

"Oh, this is the Big Tree" – Celeste said with her eyes open.

"Is there anything special about this tree?" – I asked curiously.

"It is the oldest tree in all of Kanto that is said to be connected to the Ilex Forest, although the latter is more of a legend than a reality" - Celeste replied.

It's funny, I've never heard of this tree in anime or video games, but maybe I shouldn't be guided by what I once saw, but by what I have in front of me.

"Hey, little one, why did you bring us here?" – I asked curiously.

"Bulba!" – Bulbasaur said.

Then, he ran to the base of the huge tree.

Curious, we approached only to see that in the first branches of this tree there were dozens of Kakuna.

"They are Kakuna, they must be about to evolve" – Celeste said.

"Yes, but I still don't understand why he brought us here" – I nodded.

"Bulba!" – Bulbasaur said.

The Bulbasaur pointed his head in a specific direction and when we looked we could see that among all the Kakuna there was, there was only one Metapod, however, it was a Metapod with a peculiar color, his color was Purple.

"A Metapod? What is a Metapod doing there?" – I asked confused.

As far I know, those two Pokémon breed separately and never get together.

"It's probably a prey that the Beedrills brought here" - Celeste said.

"A dam? Do Beedrills eat Butterfree?" – I asked surprised.

"Yes, they are natural enemies, but they don't usually attack each other because they always go together" – Celeste nodded.

I've never heard of anything like this in anime or video games.

"So, they brought this Metapod here to wait for him to evolve and then eat him?" – I asked somewhat nervously.

Sometimes even the Pokémon world can be very cruel.

"Yes, I think so" – Celeste nodded.

"But why did this Bulbasaur bring us here?" – I asked curiously.

"Bulba!" – Bulbasaur said.

Bulbasaur then used his Vine Whip to try to catch the Metapod so he could get him out of there, but it was so high that he couldn't get there.

"It seems that what he wants is to get him out of there, maybe he saw that he was in danger and wants to help him" – Celeste said.

"It's possible, but to begin with, how is it possible that Metapod has that color? If I remember correctly, the Shiny Metapods should be yellow, however, this one is purple" – I said.

"It depends on the diet, although it can also be a genetic mutation, I don't know, there are many possibilities" – Celeste said.

"You are really great" – I said with sincere admiration.

It seems that Celeste knows much more than I thought.

"T-Thank you, but it's normal to know that after having studied so much" – Celeste said with a blush.

"Even so, it's incredible that you remember everything" – I said.

"T-Thank you" – Celeste said embarrassed.

Then we both stared at each other until a tail hit me.

"Pikapi pi" – Pikachu said angrily.

"Don't worry, you're right, first of all, we have to help the Bulbasaur and the Metapod" – I nodded.

Celeste was so blushing that she was speechless for a moment.

"Hmm, but it's kind of difficult, Bulbasaur's Vine Whip doesn't reach and if Pikachu tries to use Thunder Shock I could pick him up but the noise could alert the Beedrill if they're nearby..." – I said looking intently at the Metapod.

"Yes, we have to do it in some way that allows us to rescue him without making any noise" – Celeste nodded.

"Pika pi" – Pikachu nodded.

Poor Bulbasaur was nervous, after being saved from that stalker by these kind humans, he managed to lure them here to see if they could help poor Metapod, to save him from a cruel fate, but it seemed that the humans were doubting what to do, if they couldn't, does it mean that poor Metapod was going to die devoured by the Beedrills? That was too cruel!

"I already have it, I've found a way to save the Metapod without alerting the Beedrills" – I said suddenly.

It was crystal clear!

"What?" - asked Celeste curiously.

Pikachu and Bulbasaur were also curious to know what Ash's idea was.

"I'll catch him using a Pokéball, if I catch him, I won't make any noise unless he comes out of the Pokéball, but if it catches him, I'll be able to get him out of there without making a sound" – I explained.

That's right, the idea was to catch him so that this wouldn't alert the Beedrills.

"Good idea" – Celeste said.

"Pika pi" – Pikachu nodded.

"Thank you, are you okay with this idea, Bulbasaur?" – I asked curiously.

It is possible that the two were friends and that Bulbasaur did not accept the idea.

"Saur!" - Bulbasaur nodded.

Why wouldn't he accept the idea? If that human caught him, he would be saved, which was the purpose.

"Okay, then I just have to aim well and... ready" – I said throwing the Pokéball.

With my grandiose aim, I hit the nail on the head and catched the strange Metapod.
