I stayed with Leon at the venue while he tidied things up and directed his clean up crew with the decorations. I sat still and watched him be proper in his ways, his face and posture were straight as he moved around crews of people like a master player of chess. Understanding each person's strengths and skills and manipulating them accordingly.
All in all he only participated with the cleanup of the top venue. The rest of the building cleanup was easy enough. But the top needed special care being open to the elements. It would be terrible for decor to blow off during the night and cause damages across the beach.
There was a separate door off the roof that acted as storage for tables and chairs and the rest needed to be taken downstairs to be sorted in the first floor storage unit. It was quite amusing to watch. His job being much more physical than mine.
I could feel the fuzziness of the wine setting into my blood, and the affects of the drugs I long forgot about fading away and leaving me a mild headache. I released a hush sigh of boredom as I watched him.
I hope my dress will be okay. It was one of my favourites. But all in all these clothes are comfy but are definitely going against my status.
Leon made his way over to me when the cleanup was done. The request I demanded of him left him in a less enthusiastic mood. His face was softer and he looked down at me.
"Are you sure that's what you want? There's nothing else?" he asked me as he leaned against the rear of the chair across from me.
"No. Nothing. Why? You getting cold feet of such a simple request?" I asked, a bit cocky in my tone as I raised an eyebrow.
"No... I have a debt to repay and I will do that. It's just a request that doesn't necessarily suit... Me." he said as he let's out a sigh.
"let's go then Lil. This scenery when the glamor is gone becomes dread." he said beginning to walk off.
"No you just prefer the shine of lights and glitter. Sometimes darkness can be nice if you open up to it." I poked back as I followed behind him.
The building on our way down looked so eerie when the tables and chairs and lights were removed. The void of such a large space made those jitters id felt before creep in. But Leon seemed to be unaffected by this scenery.
"You don't find this spooky at all?" I asked, making sure to stay close behind him.
"Not at all. I've seen it many times. There's nothing here anymore and I doubt anyone would hide out here. Besides there are cameras hidden around the property and we have some security guards to wander when the venue is closed. I doubt anyone would try anything, especially not after the last time. "he said as we made it to the bottom of the venue. The stage had been disassembled, the area had been cleared and even all the flowers were taken down. All that was left was tiny pieces of fabric and petals being swept up by the staff.
" You mean the incident with the kids."
"yeah. They learned there lesson well."he said with a small smile as he opened the doors to the venue.
Another beautiful yet eerie scene.
The dark cold sand stretching out as it made contact with thriving waves of the ocean, dark and strong as the waves crashed along the shore. All I could see of it was small movements as light reflected off the surface of the water.
There was a car outside waiting for us, the driver held the door to a large black SUV.
To be honest I didn't recognize the vehicle or the driver but I thought nothing of it. It was probably one of Leon's drivers.
"I made sure to put your dress in here too. Shouldn't be too much to fix it." he said as he gets inside.
I followed behind him and get comfortable as I look around the car.
"I certainly hope so. That fabric is to die for." I said as I watched the driver close the door.
The ride home wasn't all the scenic now that the sky had set to darkness. The city lights were bright and clear as we began to head off the coast and through the city. Making our way out towards the outskirts where my home was located. The ride was silent with nothing but the clear sound of fabric moving as our bodies shifted in out seats. Or the sound of the road beneath the wheels as we moved. It was a peaceful silence, the kind that makes you black out into your mind and into your own thoughts, gazing out the window seemed like a single moment and before I realized it at all we were pulling into my home and I was granted comfort by the approaching guards as I rolled my window down.
"Miss Ardenson" the guard nodded as he returned to his station and opened the gates letting us inside. Leon was on edge as he stepped the car, poor thing was always a tad bit frightened of the dogs. They weren't much for barking at this time of night. But you could see the reflection in their eyes as they approached from the darker ends of the property and steadily approached him to sniff him down.
"Aye..... Don't they ever get tied up?" asked Leon as he flinched a bit at their rough sniff down.
"No. Only muzzled when a vet comes....Go On!" I said shooing the dogs away with a hand as they let out silent growls and moved towards the driver.
We entered my home still absent of any family of mine. Most of the staff were already asleep in their quarters and only the footsteps of the guards sounded in the home. But we too were quiet as we moved through the large space and entered my room.
I sat on my bed and let out a sigh kicking off my shoes and looking at Leon who stared at me.
"Are you ready to pay me back?"
