Petunia Evans & A Witch

Petunia was originally a bitter woman, she was jealous of her younger sister, and who wouldn't be jealous of Lily? She had everything Petunia wanted. She was beautiful, intelligent, was her parents' favorite and even had a better name, to make matters worse she still had magic, this doesn't justify what she did to her nephew, but any child would be jealous if her sister was Lily Evans. But in another universe, Petunia is a reincarnated soul who has already lived another life. Petunia grows up knowing that she is not the favorite daughter and is grateful for that because she has always loved her old parents more, she doesn't care if Lily is prettier than her or smarter, envy does no good and Petunia has more to worry about. The Harry Potter books were never written in the protagonist's universe. ᴛʜɪꜱ ꜱᴛᴏʀʏ ᴅᴏᴇꜱɴ'ᴛ ʙᴇʟᴏɴɢ ᴛᴏ ᴍᴇ. ɪ ᴏɴʟʏ ᴛʀᴀɴꜱʟᴀᴛᴇ.

Chapter 13 - Days in Alexandria

Darling,

Classes are intense, we're revising the content of previous years and learning new ones. Transfiguration has been hell and I can't wait to leave this class. Thank God I wasn't chosen as a tutor, do you get any perks? Yes, but having to give up my study time isn't worth it. I'm glad you're adapting well to your job, you never told me what you do there.

School life is getting strange. I know that Lucius Malfoy, the current head monitor, is an arrogant bore and the way he looks at Muggle-borns disgusts me and the atmosphere in Slytherin is getting distressing. The attacks are increasing and I worry about what will happen to Lily, since I have no doubt that civilians will create a resistance group and that she'll join them.

Do you have any more information about job prospects related to runes and potions? Because Severus is practical and I know Lily will probably want to stay in England. I hope these magical terrorists will be stopped, but I want to build a base in Alexandria to take them both with me and give them a safe life. I know I'm being neurotic, but this fear torments me.

The longing is mutual and I hope we can see each other in the summer. I really liked the books you sent me, especially the embroidery one. I'm thinking of learning another language, which one would be most useful? I hope we can see each other in the summer.

Aster read Petunia's letter with affection, he missed her and wanted to be able to visit her at Christmas, but he knew it would be best to wait until his days off to go in the summer. He was worried about Petunia's safety, he knew she was safe at Hogwarts and that she wouldn't seek trouble.

But Lily was stubborn, bright and impertinent, she would certainly join a resistance group and that worried him. There was also the issue that in times of war people became more impulsive, in the worst case she would marry a wizard from the same resistance group, have a child and they would both be killed.

He knew he was being neurotic by thinking about the future of a twelve-year-old child, but there were signs of a possible war and he knew that his mother had convinced him to send some of his nephews to the French magic school and that the protections of the houses were being reinforced and that his family avoided going out with the children as they were afraid of what might happen.

He stopped thinking about the possible (imminent) war that possibly (will) happen. He would have to rummage around the clothing stores and maybe buy some different fabrics for Petunia or a sewing magazine or an exotic herbology book or perhaps a useful book for defense.

Aster liked his current home, but he didn't like the solitude. He loved his job, but he knew that if Petunia asked him to, he would stay in England and wait for her, however she would never ask him to give up his goals.

His home was a small one-bedroom apartment, he liked being able to see his whole apartment at a glance, he didn't have to worry about decorating and it would be easy to move in.

He got up from the sofa and put Petunia's letter together with the others and went to eat. He had a magical version of a fridge, it was a cupboard with doors that contained cooling spells. It was useful because even with magic he hated cooking, so he simply took one day a week and cooked everything at once and supplemented it with things from restaurants. He knew Petunia's opinion on the subject and avoided writing about it.

Instead of taking the floo or apparating, it was common for Alexandrians to use flying carpets. Some used brooms, but they were the minority, however there were still Quidditch matches.

It was a short five-minute drive to his workplace, and he waved to the guards and entered. From the outside it looked like a Greek temple, he was smiling and greeted everyone with a smile.

He was a trainee, so his job consisted of translating documents, reviewing reports and checking books. They also had a vast repertoire of magical artifacts, but these he would only have access to after his training period. It was mostly paperwork, but he could do research in his spare time and didn't have to deal with British magical society.

"Hey Wealey, do you have an appointment on Saturday?" Raj was a guards trainee and the liveliest wizard Aster had met in Alexandria.

"Quidditch?" He asked.

"Yes, Leila had an unforeseen event, she was called up by the curse breakers just in time for the final. If we lose our team will have to take care of the east sector in the patrol, the east sector is awful, Wealey!"

He had no idea what the east sector was, but he was an apprentice librarian and wouldn't have to take part in the punishment if they lost.

"I'll join the team, but I didn't bring my broom. Can you get a proper one? It's no good playing Quidditch without being used to it..." He didn't even have time to finish because Raj burst out shouting with joy that he would have a broom by the end of the morning.

His nephew was born in December, another boy to his sister-in-law's dismay. He liked his brother, but he was too soft and let Molly take the lead as she was a bit authoritarian and he knew there would be ugly family fights in the future.

The months went by, he played Quidditch as a goalkeeper, went out with colleagues at work and had to turn down catcalls and date invitations. He was as sweet as possible about Petunia, but he never mentioned her name, he always called her nicknames like love, sweetheart and flower. Petunia remained focused on her studies to the point where some of her letters were only about complaints.

She was happy with her grades and now that she was sixteen, she could go out on her own and the two of them could have real dates instead of sneaking around the castle.
