——————————————————————————————-

I had nothing to lose, so in a last attempt I tried to preserve what I saw as my sense of being, I had decided to merge my very soul with my father's power, and now... I didn't know who I was, I remembered being Adam, but not how it felt. The memories of time past, felt like images from a movie, they were there but, they felt foreign, the love I think I felt for Hestia, was gone, I remembered the kiss I gave her, the laughs we shared, but... none of that had any emotional value for me, in fact I didn't even know how to describe the feelings I felt minutes before I let this power consume my being.

Who was I? Had my sacrifice been useless, was I still Adam, or was I just someone new with his memories? There was really no way to know for sure the answer to that, but one thing was clear, Adam... the one everyone knew was dead.

"You impress me son," Nyarlathotep said, his tone blissful and full of intrigue, "Now... how about we get started...''

I looked at him, and thought about my options, did I still want to rebel against his will? was that a desire exclusive to the Adam of the past, or was it something innate to my being? and more importantly, did I have the power to refuse? No, I didn't, even with this power that felt infinite, next to him, I was a puppy, "What is it that you desire,"

"Many things, from you? be ready for when I need you," Nyarlathotep whispered in my ears, "I know you still desire freedom, so... do as I ask... and then you will be free to do as you wish, son...."

So he knew that even though I was a monster I wished to be out of his control, "I'll be waiting for your call,"

With that said and done, my father disappeared leaving me in the world of darkness, which I destroyed with ease, "Pathetic really," I laughed, "So much effort to end up doing what he wanted... and now I don't even care..." lies, I did care, it burned me to the core that I had to obey him, it was no longer for Hestia, for the earth... or for anyone for that matter, the reason that made me want to kill him was... because he had me chained, like a dog. But what choice did I have, other than obedience, what could an ant do before a planet, nothing.

"What am I supposed to do?" I wondered looking around, Nyarlathotep had not given me any more orders, "I guess I will go to earth," this would serve as a test, to see if I was still the same Adam, or if I was a different being.

With nothing else to do, I used my power to open a portal to earth, and immediately noticed that my memories of the planet and how it was were different. "Intriguing," I said, stepping through the portal, changing my form to a more human one.

"Adam," A familiar voice said, Odin, "Long time no see," turning to look at the old god, who I noticed was holding his spear, and was ready to fight.

"Odin," I said, staring at him, with him I remembered feeling a sense of friendship and doubt, or at least I remembered it that way, but now... his presence is indifferent to me, I felt nothing for him, maybe a little hate, yes... hate, for all the lies he had told me, for not telling me that this was the destiny that awaited me, hate... that if I understand, I hate Odin, "Die,"

Without thinking, I launched an attack with enough force to eliminate the old god, who was saved by the interference of his son Thor at the last moment, "Adam, this is not you!" shouted Thor, who was holding his hammer.

"I'm not?" I looked at him curiously, "How do you know that? Maybe this was always me, and the Adam you knew was a lie, I really can't tell you... but what I do know is that, this is me now," moving at great speed, I appeared in front of Thor, surprising him, "And you are in my way," with ease, I ripped off the hand that held his hammer, making the Nordic thunder god scream in pain.

"Damn!" Odin shouted, casting a spell of two million magic circles, intending to seal me, "I'm sorry Adam!"

As the circles fell on me, I looked at Odin curiously, and with absolute ease I moved through his magic, tearing through each of the magic circles as if they were paper, until I was face to face with him, "What are you sorry about? Lying to me for a long time? Trying to seal me? Or something I don't know yet? I'm curious to know..."

"I never lied to you," Odin answered, "At least that wasn't my intention... I only wanted to protect you, and protect the world..."

"Hm, I see," I sighed, a little disappointed with the answer, "Tell me... how did that work out for you?" I asked, bringing my hand up to his one eye.

"I don't know yet," Odin replied, curious.

"Interesting," I said, proceeding to pluck out his remaining eye. To my surprise, Odin didn't even flinch, he didn't even try to dodge it. What was the old god planning?

"Adam, this is insane!" Thor, who had managed to stop the bleeding from his arm, shouted, "Your father... is controlling you!"

"Very likely," I agreed, raising my hand above my head, charging an attack to kill him, he was becoming, rather annoying, "But who cares,"

"I," That voice, Hestia.... So this was Odin's plan, what a disappointment, "Adam.... look at me, please..." Hestia begged me.

"I didn't expect to see you here," I said staring at her, my attack now aimed at her, "For someone with thousands of years of war experience, I expected a better strategy than this," I said, addressing Odin.

"This is not you, this will never be you..." Hestia who for some reason beyond my power of understanding seemed not to be scared said, walking towards me with a small smile, "But... maybe I'm wrong, maybe this is you now, and if so... no matter, no matter how low you sink, I will always love you,"

"Love?" I laughed, "Pathetic... did you actually see this working out in the future, Odin?"

Hestia, who was already in front of me, smiled, "If I must die, dying at your hands is the fate I choose," my hand trembled, why did it tremble? what was going on, I looked at her and I know I don't feel anything, but... I am not able to shoot her.

"I know I told you this six months ago, but... I love you," with that, Hestia came closer, kissing me, her warm lips full of life, against mine, cold and dead.

"You are crazier than you look," I laughed, lowering my hand, "I didn't feel anything... but I can't kill you either, something is stopping me, maybe it's love... maybe not, I really don't know... what I do know is that I promised you something... and I will see what I can do to fulfill that promise," saying that, I opened a portal to where my father was, leaving the earth behind.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As I passed through the doorway, my father, who seemed to be waiting for me, looked at me, and began to applaud, "The show, it was.... the best, although it would have been better if you had killed them."

"There's no rush... is there?" I replied, "Besides... the reason I went there was not to kill them, it was to see if I had any feelings for them..."

"And?" Nyarlathotep smiled.

"Nothing,"
