A Golden Opportunity

Or maybe I should say that I have come face to face with sleeping beauty. Eh, Aurora? Aww, too bad, she is not around… anymore. Maybe I will meet her again one day when all the stars are finally aligned again.

My iPhone tells me that the stars will not be aligning anytime soon, so I have plenty of time to prepare for the cosmic event. Good. What had happened the last time around will not repeat itself. I will make sure of it.

The First Elder, Zhao Liu, is not exactly sleeping, not in her current meditating position. She is not really here despite her body is here, physically. Her spirit is elsewhere at the moment.

And from what my eyes are telling me, Zhao Liu has taken the first step into the Spiritual Realm.

Great.

An expert at the pinnacle Martial Realm can ascend into the Spiritual Realm with or without obtaining the Martial Merit. While it is better to obtain all the merits in order to transcend beyond the Immortal Realm later on, it is not really a requirement.

Most cultivators never manage to reach the Immortal Realm during their lifetime even if they all have cultivated with the sole purpose of becoming an immortal. No. More like becoming a God. Most falsely have assumed that becoming immortal is to become God.

God transcends immortality. That is a fact.

In any case, Zhao Liu is attempting to ascend to the Spiritual Realm without obtaining the Merit of the Martial Realm, thus she requires to forcefully manifest her spirit and enter the Spiritual World.

Trying to enter the Spiritual World, I should say.

If Zhao Liu manages to enter the Spiritual World, her mortal spirit would be immersed in the incredible spiritual energy flowing through that world, thus ascending her spirit into post-mortality and allowing her to step onto the first stage of the Spiritual Realm.

That assuming that Zhao Liu manages to reach the Spiritual World. Without a Martial Merit, she would need to obtain something equivalent in order to pass through the gate.

If not, she can just fight or sneak her way in. She can also bribe her way in.

While there are plenty of methods to pass through the gate and enter the Spiritual World, the easiest method is just obtaining a Martial Merit. It is not the best method, however.

There is a great reward for actually fighting through the gate despite having a free pass in the form of the Martial Merit, but no one has ever succeeded in doing that on their first attempt.

I certainly did not. Maybe I will this time around since future knowledge for the win.

And considering that this is a golden opportunity, I should tie up Zhao Liu for some bondage fun.

Oh. Woops. I think I am getting ahead of myself. Like way ahead of myself.

I put away the bondage tools and take out some talismans instead. One for her physical body. Another for this cavern, which seems to fill with natural Yang energy. I suppose that is how she is counteracting the build up of Yin energy within her body, allowing her to reach higher comprehension of the manual.

Zhao Liu obviously does not share this priceless cavern with the other Elders, or Xiao Hong would have known about her impending painful death.

Well, if Zhao Liu did share it, Xiao Hong would probably be in a more terrible bargaining position with me than she is at the moment. Maybe not since Xiao Hong is smart enough to know when to actually give in and spread her legs.

Not like Long Yue. So, hurrah for Xiao Hong?

But why does Long Yue is given special treatment? There is a good chance that Long Yue will stumble into this secret cave, considering that Zhao Liu has given Long Yue a recall beacon.

Not really sure why I am thinking too much about this. It is not like I should care about the dynamic or internal struggle within the Sect, especially when I am intending to take over it out of mere principle.

I shrug at that and slap the talisman on Zhao Liu to activate it. I keep the other talisman on hand since it will not be of any use if I activate it right now.

Since I am not exactly sure when Zhao Liu is going to be crawling back from her attempt to break into the Spiritual World, I decide to take up this golden opportunity. I mean the second golden opportunity, not the opportunity to fondle and molest her body, as I can do that later.

I look around the cavern, trying to locate the source of all that natural Yang energy. My overpowered eyes can discern the natural flow of the world and more, thus locating the source of the natural Yang energy is child play.

Once the source is found, I immediately head towards it in order to claim it for myself.

The source of all that natural Yang energy is a small urn being stashed behind a solid wall. While I can see what it is and where it is located, I cannot reach it. Breaking the wall will collapse the cave. That is not an option right now, as I am waiting to enslave a beauty.

I mean ensnare a beauty.

Therefore, the next best thing is to suck up as much Yang energy as possible. I can do that through the use of a chest. It is a Sacred Treasure, and it can devour all sort of things, including energy. That ability is somewhat similar to the ring on my finger, which contains all of my divine energy.

I settle the wooden chest onto the floor and knock on top of it to wake it up. The chest flips open and begins to suck in all the Yang energy within the cavern. It takes only a moment, and once all the Yang energy is gone, it begins sucking out the energy from the source.

Doing that will take more effort and time.

While it is doing that, I pay attention to Zhao Liu and note that the talisman on her is glowing. It seems that I do not need to wait long after all.

And within the next minute, a ghostly scream echoes throughout the cavern while the talisman glows even brighter, preventing a certain spirit from reentering her body.

"What is this!? Who dare stick this talisman on me!?"

I immediately toss the talisman in my hand onto the ground, activating it. It also begins to glow, forcing the astral being to materialize into the physical world.

"That would be me, esteem First Elder," I finally speak up.

I can see her very clearly, and I must say, she is one hot spirit. I mean literally. She is on fire, likely from getting toasted by the Gate Guardians.

Zhao Liu struggles to maintain her spirit, and she desperately needs to return to her body to stabilize it. She cannot do that while my talisman is still on her body.

"Who… who are you? How did you get here?" Zhao Liu questions.

The secret cavern is sealed from the inside, so unless I know its exact location, I cannot really be here, but of course, with the recall beacon, I do not need to know the exact location. When my spy drones were flying around for reconnaissance, Zhao Liu was actually heading here.

"Long Yue," I reveal simply, basically pointing the blame at her.

"Long Yue!? The beacon! Why is the beacon in your hand? What have you done to Long Yue!? Answer me! Now!" Zhao Liu demands. She is practically screaming since her spirit is being burned away. "No, it does not matter. Remove this talisman at once!"

"Only on the condition that you vow to serve me now and forever," I offer.

"You impudent mortal. I will rip your spirit from your body and devour your will," Zhao Liu roars and flies towards me with the intention to rip out my spirit and take control of my body.

Of course, my divine robe pulses, sending her crashing into the wall. Regardless whether she is a spirit or more, the outcome would still be the same. My divine robe is impenetrable to all under the Divine Realm.

It is way overpowered for this region, but hey, all my items are way too overpowered for anyone.

"What…? A Sacred Treasure?" Zhao Liu utters in surprise. Her form is fading very fast thanks to being thrashed around.

"I have all the time in the world, Zhao Liu," I tell her. "I highly doubt you do. And having just your body without your will is still a win for me. Hell, maybe it is better since I don't have to listen to you cursing me all day."
